Enjoy your holiday! ...if we hear from you before the week is over, you're not holidaying hard enough
Excellent short guide, Jediknight, no worries. Language might need a bit of polishing, but that is just the perfectionist in me, so feel free to ignore him The StarWarfare Wiki has some good descriptions of the bosses' attack patterns; at least last time I checked. So I will not copy these into a guide here, but just add links to the wiki pages. @JK: it is perfectly possible to dodge Siegfried's fireballs, even with Speed <5 (7 base SPD, -2 from M27, -1(?) from firing). Most of the time you can recognise when he will spit one, and start moving to the side in time.
DBC was saying that we should advise new players to STOP shooting when Siegfried starts launching fireballs. I'm inclined to agree with him for the purpose of advising new players, because there's a specific trajectory you need to move in in order to avoid the splash damage as well. Players with 7 speed are still prone to getting caught by the splash damage if they make any variation in the path they're walking in, as that minimises the distance they move away from the fireball's landing spot. Sooo yeah, wouldn't hurt as beginner's advice, right? After all...when players start ignoring the advice we're giving them, that usually means that they no longer need it, right?
Siegfried: An alternative approach to duking it out with him turtle-style is a speed loadout. As I wrote before, I saw one guy flying circles around bigS. I do not know how much speed he had, but I can give that a try myself. I think you will need the maximum possible, though. Which means you have to sacrifice alot of POW bonus to get there.
Yes, that is where I ended up, too. Give me a day or two to get the few millions I need for the Cygni (been busy upgrading my Crab, so a bit short on funds) and I will give it a shot. Will have to use the Crab or the Nova instead of the LIT, though (not enough Mithril for the LIT right now). And: Why do you prefer the LIT over the Crab? The Crab has the higher damage output, but no piercing ability (which you won't need in the boss phase anyways).
To the Rank 9 "player" I just played with on a PP match who earned a bonus of 258, essentially ran around during the boss phase for over five minutes before realizing I wasn't going to kill it for you, and then finally bailed... why do you even play this game? Oh, and yes, I did kill it, receive my 3-person bonus (after your lack of sportsmanship resulted in the unnecessary death of our third, who was actually trying), and 3 Mithril, directly following you bailing on me after not firing a single shot. Freyr, if you ever read this forum, please, please, please indicate player handles in-game. I'm beginning to make note of the worst offenders, including this "player," but it would be so much easier to single out poor players, and ultimately make the game immensely more enjoyable if the players' gamer tags were visible in-game... DBC
190*3.5*100/28 > 200*3.5*100/30 so the LIT is better, if both are fully uprgaded or the same... How did you get crab is better?
Considering I've been trying to convince myself to buy both for the past couple weeks? Don't ask my opinion... lol Although... I do think the FLOAT is the better choice overall. DBC
Don't ask me, I ain't a far range person vicedestroy but I still have to agree with DBC because if you want far range, use M-2781
