Good lord, and I thought uni students had it good o_____O Don't you worry about that, impending prospects of entering the workforce teaches you to value your freedom a LOT...
I think I probably just say that I'm doing X, having lessons in X, etc. I guess it's just not a phrase used much here. Not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just new to me. @Everyone: we should try to have a mass co-op when sheinfell wakes up
Co-op's limited to 3 players, sadly >.< You should see what used to happen when we were still organising matches using this thread: people were literally SCRAMBLING over each other trying to barge into the same room when someone offers to host It doesn't seem to happen quite as often anymore, though it looks like a few people were active on the Match Set-up thread a few hours ago...but yeah. The maximum number of players that can go into a co-op match is 3, while the maximum number of players allowed in PvP is 8. Now that you've mentioned it...I wonder what kind of havoc we could wreak if 8 of us were allowed to join the one co-op match. I think we'd actually make the aliens run for their lives
That's cool. I hope my question didn't seem, whatever. I'm just still marveling at the idea that I'm playing games on my phone, that fits my pocket, with people from places I know little or nothing about, and without exception have found fascinating. To say it's awesome would be a drastic understatement. Although I don't tend to play PvP (random), it might be fun to get a huge group of us together, using beginner gear, and playing CTF or something... We could all select the lowest level armor and weapons that we share and just run around a bit... DBC
Short guide: please give comments So you just got this game, looked pretty good but seemed like the dreaded free-mium game right? Well from my experience I got a lot of the IAP items by doing boss runs, the only way of getting the IAP "mithril" without buying it So you say "Okay, I'll give it a shot." Nice idea ----------------------------------------------------------------# You start out with an assault rifle and blast your way through aliens thinking cool. *next level* *click click* well, you are out of ammo. You have to buy ammo with in game money and it is 1 for 1 , 1 gold for 1 "energy" which is the type of ammo. Each gun takes a different amount of ammo to fire for example the first one takes 5 energy per shot. To buy ammo go to the shop and click ammo. There should be a bar that you can slide and at the very right you are spending all your money for ammo and on the left side you aren't spending any money. Slide the bar the amount of ammo you want to buy snd yay! You got more ammo. By the way, ammo is energy or ENG. Each gun also has a firerate which is 0.24 or 1.50 or something. That shows how many seconds it takes to fire the gun so the time between shots is 0.24 seconds or 1.5 seconds. So lower the number the better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Armor, you have viper armor right now and are wondering what is a suit bonus? SPO? Whats that? SPO is speed and the bigger the number the better. HP is health and obviously the larger the number the better. POW is power and the larger the better. You think, hmmph what should I get? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Well any armor like strike or tank or similar, get the chest peices first they have the best health usually. Gun? Get the cutter (sword costs no energy to swing) and FL334AR. Getting these weapons don't have a trick, just do single mode a lot and a lot. Upgrade them a lot by doing a boss fight (mantis). Then you can try to get thunder armor. That is #a very important step. A really good weapon is the M-2781. It fires fast with a lot of damage but has a 1 seconds delay before it starts shooting, don't let that pull you down though, it is still the best gold weapon. To get this do mantis, first thing to get, the hands. They have 20% power, then the body, then the legs then the helmet. Now you can do Poison pit and upgrade your M-2781 to fll, lair survival and boss runs are the main key, do some PvP if you like but that doesn't give you any exp and barely any money. Then with the M-2781 and thunder armor you can choose several options... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Classes: These aren't official but heres some different types. Speed:# Cyngi armor hands down, though power bonus is very little but speed is best, combined with STK-06-ZZ and a weapon with no speed penalties, you have speed 11, very high. M-2781 has -2 penalty but still speed 9, still very high.# Power:# Hybrid armor. Mixed armor with different bonuses and an STK-06-ZZ end up with 1.7 your original power, Very powerful. This is good for relatively weak weapons (trinity technically but with splash radius and the suit, it can technically deal more than 10,000 damage per second total.) Or you just want to be a powerhouse, but with this and M-2781 your speed is only 7 , okay but could be better. (though with this power, you got nothing to worry about) Gold:# when farming gold to upgrade the laser cannon or crab or something you need lots of gold, combine different pieces of armor to get best gold. All hybrid sets are made to your liking and can have different specialties, but if not careful you will have wasted more than 100 mithril for a suit that is worse than a gold full suit. Try out different weapons on bosses until you have found your strategy. Some are this: Me: Trinity and power combo with 1.7 power with M-2781 Example 1: Windblade with full perseus (balanced) and M-2781 and STK-06-ZZ Example 2: Thunder (pretty balanced suit that is "hit hard and fast") with M-2781 Example 3: perseus with laser cannon. From this you can conclude there is no "best suit" just best to certain people ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss tactics: First of all, Hyperclips all the way, use them on all bosses except mantis (easy) to be a good teammate. Don't "freeload" which is swinging a sword and picking up your teammates powerups and doing practically nothing. Mantis: Use M-2781 and mantis will flinch like crazy then die. Poison pit:# with most setups you will have to stop firing and move when s/he jumps on you, it affects a larger area than just under him/her so if using M-2781 stop firing and move away. With M-2781 though, the boss will flinch so much that Only a few attscks will be made on you. Siegefried:# Bring 3 hyperclips at least, he has so much hp that if only you use a hyperclipped M-2781 that will take a LONNNGG time. So bring many and use 1 after another. If you stand way back in the shadow against the wall, when the dragon attacks you you can't get away fast enough so don't stand there. Also when s/he launches a fireball attack stop firing and move in between 2 fireballs. When the boss flies the highest it will launch a fireball attack which you should probably stop shooting and run away. Double Rages: Two angry fast healthy mantises waiting for you there. Most of us like to hyperclip the first one then when the second one comes out hyperclip that one. Why? Well that way we can kill one then the other having barely any health left will throw a shield up taking very little damage, vut if it has very little health, you could probably finish it off. One attack that is probably the worst it a laser beam, to avoid this, step closer and after the attack come back. Serpent: When carging you you usually don't have to stop firing unless from a portal. If from a portal then you switch to a lighter weapon(not gonna attack him while doing portal charges anyway) and after the atrack chanfe back. Also the poison from serpent is very deadly so try to avoid it more carefully than other attacks. Maybe use Blademaster or FLOAt to avoid poison or touch and go to speed you up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- General alien tactis: this is a short section just wanted to say get rid of green exploding bugs and projectile aliens before attaking others unless bull is present. It will always be your main target. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Last section: Well just wanted to say on bosses use crab, LIT, nova, M-2781, or Laser Cannon. Or else it will kind of be hard to kill most bosses, note this is when you have these weapons, when only have an assault rifle go ahead but afterrwards don't. Also windblade is good for ONLY THE FIRST PART OF A BOSS FIGHT. During the actual boss using it would be freeloading.
Sorry not replying to the wonderful guide above, which looks to be a good idea - Sheinfell is working on one as well I believe - but just saying that I'll take my match set-up pleas to the place where they belong - in the match set-up thread of the group
Mine was meant to be a shortguide... Did it in the app notes that comes with your iDevice... Then copied it and pasted it into here and then brown things came up , what are those? Yeah sheinfells guide will probably end up being so much better than mine... But thank you.
They look like bits and pieces of unicode that the forum can't recognise. You can go edit your post and remove the characters in question though. Not bad as a first attempt I think it's worthwhile to go back and add things/edit it as new thoughts and ideas come to your mind One thing I might comment on particular is perhaps elaborating on some of the boss attack patterns, how to anticipate them, and how to dodge them. For example, pay attention to how high Siegfried is flying - if he's flying close to the ground, he will charge at a random player, and then land on the ground again. If he's flying further up towards the sky, he's about to do a SERIES of attacks - react and anticipate accordingly. Just little things like that, but it's quite good as your first SW guide
I tried to remove them but then it removed all of the ---------------------------------------------------- Or removed Siegefried: So it was odd... Thanks.
That, my friend, is an excellent rough draft for a definitive new player guide. Don't sell yourself short. If I had read that when I started, my first week with this game would have been much easier and more comfortable. Frankly, with a little tweaking and adding some particulars, I would consider this guide approaching perfect for beginners... DBC
Thanks My guide was meant to leave some things out but accidentally left a little bit too much out... I wanted the player to dicover the patterns, it made the game more fun... And this was kind of for sheinfells guide...
Ahh, fine point, my friend. It DOES become quite boring if you're given such a thorough education of the game that there's nothing new for you to find ...hmm. Maybe I should blab less then
Hahaha don't blab less, without asanator you are the most mathy person that discovers things... Then its me.
This piece on Siegfried's flying/attack patterns is in my estimation crucial for any player to learn and understand, and thus critical for inclusion in any player's guide. If anyone values my contribution, I would suggest advising players to stop attempting to shoot Siegfried when he flies his highest. At this point in his attack cycle, he shoots fireballs that are virtually impossible to dodge while firing a weapon. I simply cannot count how many at or near full health teammates I have lost needlessly early due to this one attack... DBC
Holiday The title says it all Got a 4am start tomorrow, so I'm signing off now because I'm gonna be busy packing and sleeping. Hope you all have an enjoyable week, and I'll see you all later!
