Little balls of energy...I just looked through the store, and the only things that fire little balls of energy seem to be the Plasma Neo, the Crab (both of which sound like malfunctioning curling irons) and the Energy Glove. There's an assault rifle with a lower firing sound than the other rifles, I think - sounds more like a deep "boom" than the little pea-gun sounds the other ones make. If I may ask, do you play any musical instruments DBC? If you do, I'm hoping you're familiar with what a metronome set at 120 beats per minute sounds like. If you could tell me how many "beats per minute/bar" the weapon was firing at (or how many shots it was firing every two beats, as that's equivalent to "shots per second"), I might be able to narrow down what the weapon might be based on firing rate...otherwise, yeah, we might need a little more visual description of what it looks like, if it's not the Energy Glove or the Plasma Neo >.<
If it's the Black Stars, I don't think you'd hear a firing sound. From what I've found, you can't hear when someone fires a rocket launcher, UNLESS you're the person who fired the rockets. It's a shame, because the Black Stars sounds quite awesome...even if it's a little redundant for PvE

I just checked Wrath of Mantis with a Nova - I'm not sure the wings are even a hitbox, let alone any sort of weakpoint. What exactly do you mean by weaknesses?

Morning all, Just updating my progress: - I had around 70k by the end of the first stage, - Bought the FL334AR in the second stage for 150k, - Saved up roughly 250k during the third stage and Bought the Eco Bag towards the end of the third stage, bought the Cutter (25k) for a bit of fun - and played a couple of games to cover the cost of the cutter, left with 50k, - Got 400k during the fourth stage, - Ended up with around 450k at the beginning of the fifth stage Here I hit a wall, couldn't progress past the first level of stage 5, so I began playing the endless level of stage 4, getting 50k to 85k per run. Therefore, to overcome the block, I upgraded the FL334AR for 45k, and played the endless of stage 4 until I reached level 6 and bought the Thunder Helmet - I needed some more hp and the gold bonus should be helpful for boss fights, and I'm left with 55k cash and a decent amount of ammo, health boosts and hyper clips which I've stock piled. Anyhow, are we on for this evening Sheinfell, or anyone else for that matter, to do a boss (albeit an easy one because I'm still pretty vulnerable). I'll have a look in the match set up thread later.
Sounds like a plan, we can start easy with Mantis. And if we want to give the Mumble server a try, endless Lair is the better choice, we can take it easy there. I am off work around 4pm CET, so anytime after that is fine with me.
Stage FIVE with the Viper Armour? I've never heard of anyone waiting until they hit Training Base to upgrade their armour, you must have a serious grasp of mobility and crowd control already o____O I don't think I'll be online when it's evening for you guys, so I'll leave you the best advice I can think of right now: on top of how enemies gradually get stronger over time endless modes, enemy strength is also increased when you have more players in the room. Playing online seems to involve a bit of lag, so allow for some time for the enemy to actually DIE after you fire the last shot - the lag is just enough for a melee alien to land a hit on you, or worse, for an exploding bug to damage you.
Great, we can arrange time particulars in setup thread nearer the afternoon. I haven't used voice-chat on my itouch before so I'll play around with it a bit first to get the hang of it. It should be great. Yeah I did one co-op Mantis, survived with no upgraded armour but my itouch crashed on the post-match screen :/ Your choice, I'm flattered hahaha. Cheers I'll remember to fire those few extra bullets to make sure they're dead. Thanks again, I'm sure we'll be able to play co-op at some other time, though after today I won't be able to play for a couple of week probably because we're bouncing around going on holiday.
