Actually, never mind what I wrote earlier Parcheesy, if you saw that. Short answer, yeah, that's him :p

@undead- isn't switching all those weapons hard?

Ha!!! On actual boss fighta, my setup is better than Superion's!

But on PvP he might beat me even though I have a trinity...

Enjoo, are you referring to my PvP loadout, or the weapon-switching that I'm trying to use with the RPGs and the railguns?

If you mean the PvP loadout, yeah, it gets a bit cumbersome carrying 5 or 6 weapons into a match. Usually, I carry less, but I'll also order them in as strategic a manner as I can (e.g. the Windblade used to be immediately before or after my Nova, so I can switch from mid- to long-range combat to something geared towards close-range if I suddenly duck into a corridor).

If you meant the railguns, I'm making use of a peculiarity with their firing mechanism: if you fire a railgun, and then switch to another weapon, the second weapon will fire for a little bit before stopping (which is roughly the time it takes for the railgun to reload). If you do this with two railguns, the second railgun will fire as soon as you switch to it, without you needing to tap it, so it might actually be a decent technique against any boss with a large hitbox when they're standing still or moving particularly slowly (Siegfried comes to mind).

If you meant switching between weapons continuously as a combo technique...I'm holding my iPad in such a way that my right thumb is always on the right stick, while my right index finger is the one doing the weapon switching. I've usually got my iPad against a stand, so it's fairly stable even with all the finger movement. With an iPod Touch or an iPhone, I imagine it's a little bit easier because the controls shouldn't be as far apart, though you may or may not sacrifice the physical stability of your iDevice while playing, I'm not quite sure.

Hey, hey, don't get too competitive now -- all that matters is that you've got what you need to do the job :p

I wonder if anyone's crazy enough to try solo-ing a boss with the Viper armour...

Oh, you have no idea.... I'm refining my strategies and creating new set-ups constantly
I do, indeed, have another weapon. :p And Darthguy, I wouldn't be too sure about being better in PvE than I am...

I got the purple mantis to flinch and not attack me at all when I was the only person in the boss fight (rest died). Woohoo:D;)

I meant the boss part, not the enemy wave... If you change your armor, I'm doomed. :(
    Whats your other weapon?

    @Everyone:
Please do not post into the "Players' Guide" Group thread, I really want to keep that one neat and organised.
I forgot that before, added a big "don't post here" notice to the guide thread.

If you want to comment on the guide, there is a separate thread for it.
And for anyone who feels like saying hello in the Group, I just created an introductions thread.

If you think that is a good idea, I can add a "questions & answers" thread as well.

@Jediknight: I already deleted your oneliner from the thread, no offense :)
@Bazingaking: If you want, copy your posts there over to the "Introductions" thread within the next 24 hours. I will delete them tomorrow my evening.

Also, for BK, as reply to your concerns about ammo costs:
Do not worry about that. I used an "extra slow" approach when I started playing SW. Bought several full sets of lowlevel armor, experimented with and upgraded quite some of the lower-mid tier weapons; Think I spent at least a million on that, at a time when gold was still scarce.
But I *never* had any problems with running out of ammunition, or with the costs for it being too much.

    ---
We were out eating, I have a few pages to catch up.
I saw that BK had a few more questions. If they are not answered already, I will reply later.

Good discussion about PvP tactics, folks. I will point to the last few pages in the PvP part of the guide.
As I do not play PvP, I know nothing about it.
So, if anyone is willing to cover more PvP stuff, shoot me a PM.

@undead.exe: Thanks for putting up the pictures in the Group!

    For Bazingaking:
POW is indeed a weapon's firepower/damage. Divide it by the firerate and you get the damage per second. (e.g 100pow/0.10 firerate)*1s=1000 damage per second.
SPD is your speed. The higher the better. For practical purposes, you will want at least 7 speed, especially when you start to use weapons/armors that slow you down.
For example the M27 has a speed penalty of -2, reducing your good 7 to a slow 5.
And your speed gets reduced further when you fire a weapon.
Also, 2 bosses spit poison that deals damage and slows you down even more.

To show the effect: I just died twice to Serpent because I wore my Turtle equipment (s...l...o...w), got caught in a corner amidst poison and could not get out in time.

In the early stages of the game, you need to run around more, in my experience.
Ironically, the weapons that slow you, especially the M27 machinegun, greatly support a stationary playstyle with their raw firepower, where you find a good spot and blast away at anything that comes in range.

    Assist items:
All assist items (healthpacks, hyperclips, etc.) are consumables, meaning that once you use them they are gone and you need to restock.
But they are worth the money. Even a 40k gold investment in a healthpack is nothing when it saves you from dying so you can win a fight and get a reward that can be 10 or 20 times more than that.
And the hyperclips have *the* best return on investment, with them doubling your damage for 30 seconds for a meager 2000 gold.
We all go through hyperclips like they fall out of fashion tomorrow :)

I think I wrote that before, but a good rule of thumb is to start carrying hyperclips when you encounter bulls in solo/endless mode, and always at least one for boss fights.

I meant both :) The way my gear is set up is the basic high level gear+ power pack+ my two main signatures which do tons of damage to especially the boss. In actuality, my disco ball moves are only for the rush wave. When the boss fight hits, I bring on the firepower :D.
