it's okay if I join, just that I play on a very loose schedule. I might miss a lot of fights or not play altogether. but if you'll like it I'm glad to join:)

Of course you are welcome, Arrow.
No worries about your schedule, there are more of us with a wacky timetable, me being one of them :)

And good catch. I added a "this group is open for everyone" line to the group description, to avoid any uncertainties in the future.

I just played my first match for Doubles Rages of the day. This is what happened with the other players and the gold dropped by the boss:

    • One player appeared to have a gold-farming set-up (Titan Head, Cygni Chest, not sure about arms and legs). He left at the beginning of the alien rush before he even killed anything.

    • Second player had full Perseus Armour, a Trinity and an M-27. He fought all the way up to the bosses, then left RIGHT at the beginning of the boss phase, so his HP bar was present when I saw the Mantises.

Now, the reason they might have just both ditched me? Because I was running around in Thunder Armour, which has little to no ability to take hits. Perseus guy may have also left because we no longer had a full room, but this isn't an important point.

What IS important is the amount of gold I got from taking the Mantises down (yes, I defeated them single-handedly with next to no defenses when they had co-op level HP :D). The gold I got from defeating Double Rages corresponds to the amount dropped when 2 players faced the Mantises.

Going from this, I believe the amount of gold the bosses will drop depends on how many players enter the boss phase, not how many are still standing at the end of it. My reason for believing this is because one player left before a single shot was fired, and the second player was present in the boss fight for a split second before leaving the room.

DBC, you know what this means, right? IT'S MINI-GAME TIME :D:D:D

On a sidenote, I'd suggest you form your own opinions about players who use the Thunder Armour - not many Rank 10-12 players will use it anymore, but it's not necessarily an indicator of poor skill. That being said, the Mantises nearly took me out with their projectiles, so there's an inherent risk playing alongside them if you want all 3 players to survive until the very end of the match (for the purposes of gold, you don't need to worry, because the gold drop amount has already been set at the beginning of the boss fight, I think).

Wait, WHAT? THERE'S NEW EQUIPMENT? *scrambles to the store*

    -----

Actually, the Touch and Go's fairly interesting, if it functions how I think it will: if you're surrounded, and an attack hits you, you'll have the ground speed to run right out of that crowd. The problem for most of us here is that we've got weaponry which makes it more efficient to slice the crowd down rather than run away...

Hmm...Dracula's quite a strange one. We'd need to see how much HP we can recover, and how much attack power we'd need to sacrifice. It sounds like it'd work perfectly alongside the Thunder Armour's ability though, as well as the Laser Cannon (all of them last for 10 seconds). I'd be interested to see whether the recovery ability is massively souped up in PvP, because of how much damage weapons do over there...

I sent this question to Freyr after you posted (p.416) that the system is back to "teammates have to survive". Waiting for their answer.

Yeah, getting an answer directly from them would be good - I thought they went back to their original system, rather than changing it to a third configuration. As it currently stands, I'm not going to object too much, because if people die or leave the match, the remaining player(s) don't have to deal with a boss having more HP, while getting less gold for it. That's a bit unfair, but I'm quite happy with how it is right now, if it's working the way I think it is.

This is like one of those favorite dreams you have more than once...;):D

I also enjoy lucking into those rooms...

Nothing like 3 fully upgraded M-27s churning away...:)

I have a few of these stories as well. Nothing gets me quite as pumped as killing Mantis while both of my 5-10% HP, severely undergunned, underarmored teammates stand right beside me and rain fire onto him...

Something about seeing these players not backing down and running around with a sword praying others can do the job for them, but instead staring these enormous beasts square in the face and blasting away. It's quite frankly the single best $2,000.00 I spend in the game...;)

These moments make me want to plead with Freyr to list player GC names in the game... much more so than being able to identify freeloaders, I would love to be able to identify lower Rank players who are giving it their all... they're arguably quite often more fun to play with than higher Rank players...

Don't forget watching them improve and develop - I get quite a buzz following the ascension of enthusiastic players, particularly when they start doing something that just blows you away. It's almost a pity they grow up so fast *nostalgia* :p

    Oo, oo, my favorites!

    /sarcasm

Sadly, if I ever load this game up again, and don't have the significant luck to find two TA players to run with, it's most likely going to be mini-game time... as it usually is.:(:)

    Speaking of which... *Ahem*

Checked out any other leaderboards recently?:cool:

I've got some ideas for you, but I'll PM you in a bit...;):D

Then by all means go ahead and do that, DBC.
I already sent them an email with that proposal, including a possible game mechanic for it.
    Currently waiting for their answer.
Might be that they are more willing to consider it when more people ask for it.

And yes, I definitely would have wanted to invite these two guys over here.

In PvP your hp scales down, not damge go up because I used a 25,000 health pack when I had next to 0 hp and fully revived me. I did this as a test NOT because I like PvP (fine I like CTF and FFA and the second one more.) But some thing must happen to the power as well I M-2781 a complete starter and took 3 seconds while my power is 1050 and his hp was 1400. *Brain explodes* So my hp got halved and the other players got doubled? *brain explodes again*

Also about them growing up so fast, that was my post first!

And heres a good way at calculating damage output, take the damage for 5 seconds and then take off one shot of whiever gun, you'll have to miss sometime. Then fastfiring guns won't experience that much of a problem where as slow one like snipers would get A LOT of damage taken off.

Also Touch and Go is me and DBC's type of pack, I haven't seen him swinging the windblade for siegefried and up but below that we are both close range, I'm close range for DR and below so this is a great pack for me...
Touch and Go is officially bought, starts playing again... Feels guilty, also this is great for bosses when they make you roll over you can get away quickly... Nice.

On serpent the Touch and Go is great because of poison slowdown, yeah you speed up in slow down, how cool is that?

If HP is scaled downwards, I'm going to test a HP-regenerating backpack later -- they'd be INCREDIBLY useful if their regeneration hasn't been scaled down accordingly.

A few things might have happened there: lag could potentially account for a player surviving for a while, but players have previously mentioned that the M-27 seems extremely underpowered in PvP -- quite possibly because it would be complete and utter overkill at all ranges if they didn't weaken it. That being said, now Windblades and Trinities are overkill because of how hard it is to escape from them once you're within firing range. Different armours might also scale HP differently, which I could see happening in order to give weaker players more of a chance against players with the strongest armours.

I cannot check now, can you tell me: Does the T&G cost gold or mithril? What are the exact stats?
I took a quick look at it yesterday, and it seemed more like something you *might* use in PvP to me.
If the T&G does nothing else, for Serpent I would still prefer either a big power bonus to kill it faster, or the FLOAT pack to avoid the poison&slowdown altogether.
And for other PvE scenarios I think the speedup is rather useless, I really cannot come up with any PvE scenario where it would provide a substantial benefit.

Hmm, that's a good point: the Touch and Go would work quite well for getting out of the poison if you step in it. Now it's just a question of whether you'd make use of the Touch and Go throughout the enemy rush and the boss fight, or whether you would prefer the Blade-Master to simply negate poison entirely, if you rarely get hit.
