It's official, we are hardcore players I got a reply from Freyr to my first email. We made it to their forum, ladies! And as officially recommended "forum for hardcore players to talk with each other", no less. Look here: http://www.ifreyr.com/topic/fans-community/ I think that is a very good sign from their side. After all, they have a forum on their own homepage, and could have told me to bugger off when I asked if we can place a link to TA on their forum. About the rest I asked: Option to sell or hide unwanted equipment --> We have started to consider adding this feature. Option to save several weapon/armor loadout --> Good suggestions for hardcore players, but probably we won't make it in short term due to limited resources.
Oh, we rock! Good thing you set up the player's group, Sheinfell, because this single thread would've gone absolutely haywire if we had new people joining and organising matches simultaneously on here Also, I think it'd be a good idea to have a copy of your original guide here -- the wiki can be edited by absolutely anyone, and while it's great for people to contribute quickly, it also implies that parts of your guide can be modified if you put it up there. I'm mainly concerned about freeloaders going in and modifying your guide to encourage selfishness if you include precautions for players to be wary of people who aren't pulling their weight.
My thoughts exactly. That is why I thought about putting it up on Gamefaqs.com . With the TA Group's 1000 character limitation per post, it is quite tedious to put a larger guide up here. On the other hand, it teaches me brevity I actually consider asking Freyr to host the guide on their homepage, once it has progressed enough to be presentable.
I've emailed them about a form of communication too, they previously suggested adding some form of text chatting to the lobby screen, like a miniature forum. All the same, I think it'd be a good idea if people who like the idea email Freyr too -- I'm seeing similar suggestions on Freyr's forum, and the more obvious demand there is, the more likely it'll move upwards on their priorities. I'd VERY much like a player's GC name to be displayed during a match, it'll make it much easier to identify people if we have more people joining us on our boss runs. In the meantime, our community is small enough for me to recognise most players by their armours, weapons and playstyles -- not so much the armours, because an overwhelming majority prefer the Perseus, though their signature weapons still give them away: DBC - crouching chaingun, hidden windblade (aka samurai sushi-chef) Darthguy - 6-armed Legolas Superion - "Shoop da woop" disco-ball (Sheinfell, Enjoo & Parcheesy - I've got a grasp of your playstyles, but I've yet to think of snappy titles. If I've yet to mention your name, it's a 70% chance I've never played you or don't have a grasp of your style, or a 30% chance my memory's faulty =.=)
I am the Snapping Turtle Quote: "Turtle is one of the animals of the Four Directions in Taoism. He guards the south - that's behind you." And the "snapping" part as reference to my earlier comment about the "armed and dangerous turtle". This turtle has teeth, and they are made from chainguns And yes, I prefer to not move around much. Staying stationary and triggerhappy suits me much better.
Truth be told, you and I are much like Blastoises with our gold farming equipment: we have blue arms and legs, a pale chest, a blue head with pointed ears, and we carry huge guns. Observe: http://scratch.mit.edu/static/icons/buddy/29750_med.png ...I rest my case >.>
Found an even better one: http://www.roblox.com/chaingun-turtle-item?id=33164493 http://t5ak.roblox.com/0fc765e8d10dd3f8429bc95ca86e1958 And guess what showed up on 3rd place of my Google search for "chaingun turtle"? Yes, our little thread here.
Firing properties of the M-27B1 and the Laser Cannon TO ANYONE WITH AN M-27 OR A LASER CANNON: this might be of interest to you... I can't remember who it was, but someone on this thread once mentioned that if you take out a sword, swing it, and then change to the M-27 midway through your swing, you will start firing without needing to wait for the gun to warm up. I just went and tested this out in a multiplayer match, and I found some rather intriguing results regarding the M-27 and the Laser Cannon: If you hold down the firing button for more than one second with any weapon and then change to the M-27 or the Laser Cannon (and presumbly the MCP76 as well), you will immediately start firing with no charge-up time. Note that the Laser Cannon's overheat and cooldown behaves rather strangely if it is one of the weapons involved in this technique: The Laser Cannon will not cool down while you are holding down the fire button, even if you switched to another weapon before it overheated. This means you can't simply switch back and forth between the Laser Cannon and the Crab or the M-27B1 to let the cannon cool down while maintaining an utterly insane damage output. If you stop firing with another weapon out, the Laser Cannon will take a certain amount of time to cooldown completely. If you start firing again before this time has elapsed, the cannon will not have cooled down at all. Regarding the above point, the Laser Cannon WILL cool down normally if you have it out after using this continuous firing technique. If you switch weapons before it completely cools down though, it will behave the same way as the previous point: no further cooling down will occur until a certain amount of time has elapsed, where overheating will instantly drop to zero; if you start firing again before this time has elapsed, no cooldown will have occurred since you put the weapon away. Truth be told, this doesn't necessarily make that big a difference to our existing playstyles, because one second means very little when most of us have already developed the skills to dodge enemy attacks. However, it might be something fun you'd like to toy around with -- it sounds particularly useful for M-27 users who want to mitigate the start-up lag when they're competing for kills during the enemy rush phase.
Who would have ever thought that something so deadly would looks so cute ----------- Also, I think we just figured out how to distinguish each other: you're the "Snapping" Turtle, whereas my original title earlier in the thread was the "Hillside/Camping" Turtle. Sound about right? >.>
Sure, fine with me. You are the senior turtle, so to speak, so I will defer to your judgement and wisdom Just be aware that the Camping Turtle looks much less threatening. Here is proof from in the wild: http://www.google.nl/search?q=%22camping+turtle%22&hl=nl&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=yZgOUPCyDqnW0QXRw4CoCg&ved=0CDUQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=1153 But then...looks can be deceiving. That is not a surfboard, it is a bloody Cruise Missile: http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/thumblarge_287/12156206679yI7Ga.jpg We need a few more of our kind...Go Team Turtle!
What can I say...as a senior turtle, so I like to take things easy and look less threatening Be warned, though: every so often, I'll strip off my bulky turtle shell and start zipping around scantily clad in the Thunder Armour. At this point, I go from a camping turtle to a streaking turtle >____> Turtles for life!
You might not like it too much: Serpent's gold drop has been reduced, to reflect the fact that the majority of players find Double Rages more challenging. The team multiplier has been reverted to the old system - your teammates now have to survive to the end of the boss fight for you to get the extra 25% gold per player. The video ads now give $3000 per video instead of 1 mithril. Not that it matters at this point (for me anyway), because neither of them work. Capture the Flag has been included in PvP - this is the one aspect of the update I somewhat like. No new weaponry or equipment in this package, though I actually want to change the fight dynamics itself with some new alien types and bosses. Not to mention tweaks to discourage freeloading, and a communication system, but we'll have to make do with Freyr advertising this thread and the player group for us on their own forum
Just collected my daily bonus..wow!! Then I played one random game of mantis As per usual I was the last to fight the mantis Took him down in three seconds with M-27 and hyper clip Rewards 155,000 plus bonus just a little over 200,000 A lot lower then previous first matches of the day Oh! By the way no Mithril Now's a good time to put this game away I can feel the frustration right away Have fun!!!!
Yeah, I'm sadly right behind you. With the latest update, there's arguably not even a decent reason to go through the frustration of attempting random matches... New strategy for boss runs: Enter random matches, never take out a firearm, get bonus just for showing up, and maybe get largest possible bonus if other two players survive and manage to kill the boss for you. It's win/win! Alternate/additional strategy: Repeat the above. If either player dies before making the boss fight, quit immediately, receive bonus, find another match. If both players survive until boss fight, don't bother wasting ammo until they either kill the boss for you or die trying. If the boss dies, collect largest possible reward. If other players die before defeating boss, unholster your firearm, finish the boss, collect largest possible bonus. Feel bad for players who genuinely tried but came up short, but not too bad, you just got the highest possible bonus! Yay Freyr, way to virtually guarantee increased cooperation and teamwork! /sarcasm Long-term result? Many will not want to join a match with an under-ranked player. Under-ranked players will quickly become frustrated, buy Rank, show up with underpowered weapons, and then many will not want to join any match with anyone they don't know, because not even Rank will indicate chances for survival and pay-outs. Many more players will quit before the boss fights after extracting maximum kill bonuses when they notice the lack of ability of other players to contribute to boss fights... wow, who comes up with these ideas? DBC
Didn't know what legolas was so searched 6-armed Legolas and the first result was the post bout our playstyles.
