You jumped in with your comment before I finished my reply to Darthguy, so I will reply separately. Good input, thanks alot. Why do you think the Energyglove and Blackstars are pointless and a joke, aka not good weapons to pick? For a playerguide, explaining why something is not good is always a good addition. Same question goes to Darthguy: Why do you think the LIT is a bad choice?
Energy glove has a low dps for 180 mithril(I think) also the black stars. The lit is not so good if your poor because it's only a bit better for 95 mithril
I completed my perseus set, bought a crab and the m-27 right now I'm trying to upgrade m-27(currently lvl 4 with about I think 320 or 420 damage)
Well with the trinity I use it as a primary during the enemy wave, you get in close range to have it to be really good and explodes on3-4 enemies dramatically increasing the dps. M-2781 is for the actual boss... On siegefried if using trinity get on the bottom of the hill, this requires practice because the enemies get to you quick whereas the M-2781 kind of makes it too boring, my oponion only. for the guide I think it should include more tips for gettng the things you reccomend like bosses and lair survival. Also players might want cyngi or perseus both a good, we had an earlier discussion about this...
Sheinfell: I'm a little pressed on time now, so I'll quickly reply to a few points you raised. Might come back and cover some of the others I can think of if people haven't already addressed them. If Darthguy didn't make it clear in his post, what you do with the Trinity is to shoot at the ground at close- to mid-range. What happens is that all three arrows explode - and splash damage is just as powerful as a direct hit in this game, from what it looks like. Doing that causes a small area of concentrated damage, which can take out a cluster of enemies if you're waiting in front of a spawn point. In PvP, the Trinity is about as dangerous as the Windblade -- you REALLY don't want to be in range of a player who uses it because of weapon damage being scaled up. The Black Stars can be used similarly to the Trinity, but at longer ranges because its shots don't spread out. While a single hit with the Black Stars is more powerful than the Trinity, its dps is actually dramatically lower because of its firing rate, and the speed penalty is higher by half a point. Pairing the Black Stars with the Cygni armour set will cause the weapon's damage to rise by 30%, similarly to the Atom armour's effect on beam weapons. The Black Star's shots are staggered, meaning you can actually make the three rockets fire in different directions and create a sweeping effect, but multiple shots with the Trinity would be more ideal for killing enemies from multiple directions because it firing rate is almost 3 times faster. PvP-wise, the Black Stars does damage roughly comparable to a Windblade as well - just with a ridiculous amount of range on it. If you encounter an opponent in Cygni during PvP, you do NOT want to leave him alive for too long.
The Energy Glove is a rather useless weapon, seeing as as even before the weapon was redesigned (fist animation to plasma ball animation), the glove was pretty much a faster firing RPG, albeit being blue in color. It was more of a "novelty" weapon to me, as after seeing what it did when I bought it, I was like, "I'll just keep this as a memento of my supremely rich self." (Hence, Superion?) Similarly, launching three rockets isn't exactly the best way to take out enemies. Since the rockets don't home in towards separate groups, or do anything besides being all clustered together for that matter, I say that the Black Stars are exactly what they are: Darkly shrouded in failure and completely useless as a "light source" (weapon) :3
heres my explanation for LIT07. Don't get me wrong it is good and all but... It isnt as good as the M-2781 at this stage you want money so you park and mow down enemies, M-2781 is perfect for that, or the Laser cannon but it is EXPENSIVE. The LIT07 is not close rqnge, you still pick enemies away from the same distance but with lower DPS. Unless you really like it, really good with lasers feel free but in my oponion the two options for weapons are Pick enemies away from a far distance (mid to long) Close range So the LIT makes you move freely but if you have the m-2781 no need for moving, trinity is for close range as is windblade windblade is a downgraded version of the trinity for me.
As the Energy Glove is right now, I'd have to agree. In a previous update, it fired fists which actually EXPANDED as the projectile went further, making the weapon somewhat trickier to evade at longer ranges. Right now, though, it just fires plasma balls which explode on impact, meaning the weapon's pretty much outstripped by the Crab in terms of firing rate and damage output; previously, it was a decent weapon in PvP. ----------- Regarding the Black Stars, I'd agree that there are more efficient weapons you can use in PvE. For PvP though, I've literally dismantled entire enemy teams with it, where all opposing players were in the top 3 ranks. A certain style of teamplay involves staying near your teammates, so you can concentrate your fire on a single opponent, thereby killing said opponent quicker and preventing them from killing any of you. Cygni, STK and Black Stars combined results in the ability to attack at mid-range while retaining a level of mobility which doesn't make it easy for opponents to aim at you. I've found opponents tend to try to dodge and run when they see how much damage you're doing to them, which results with their aim being thrown off a little given that both of you are moving, giving you the advantage because of your weapon's splash damage. The splash damage is also the reason I mentioned that team formation above: you can damage and eliminate two or three players at once with the rockets, making it much more feasible to engage multiple players at once rather than with a weapon that can only hit one player at any one time. In short: I'd argue there IS a situation where the Black Stars comes in handy, but that's only for the purpose of having fun in PvP. For PvE, it's relegated to "gimmick weapon" status, given the existence of more effective ways to take out aliens. There are more worthwhile mithril investments to make before playing with this thing.
Regarding the alien rush phase, I'd agree that the M-27 is a more economic investment than the LIT07, considering that mithril isn't that easy to come by in this game. For a new player whose finances are limited, their first purchase should either be the SAM backpack for the gold bonus, or the Windblade for something fun, which also does a fair bit of damage with relatively low upgrade costs (not the most economically efficient investment, but it's important to ensure new players have something fun to distract from the grinding encouraged by the game, which can put people off the game). Ignoring costs, however, the only thing the LIT07 doesn't have over the Crab is splash damage - and this is replaced by its piercing properties. It's otherwise superior in every area: damage output is slightly higher, while the cost of firing is obviously lower. Also, the projectiles travel almost, if not, instantaneously - you'll be able to outgun the Crab for the same alien if you both start firing at the same time. ----------------------- I may well incite Superion's ire here, but I feel that the Laser Cannon has two drawbacks, depending on what your considerations are: Firstly, assuming that cost is a factor, the Laser Cannon is HIGHLY expensive: on top of its initial 320 mithril cost, the gold required to upgrade the weapon to its full-powered state is quite prohibitive: the Star Warfare wiki mentions that the last upgrade alone will cost you $18 million, and off the top of my head, the total cost of upgrades was somewhere in the $30 million range, give or take a few million. Secondly, when considered on its own, the Laser Cannon's damage output will not exceed 3500dps. This is primarily due its tendency to overheat, implying that the Laser Cannon is weaker than the M-27 if you consider their ability to deal damage to a single opponent over a sustained period of time. This would then suggest that the cannon is not the most damaging weapon against bosses. From the above, I'd suggest that the Laser Cannon is an "incomplete weapon" against Siegfried and above: maximising its usefulness requires you to use a second weapon during its cooldown to raise the average damage you do over a sustained period of time. Suitable companion weapons include Superion's signature combination with the R700-AA, or the M-27 itself. Assuming that all your shots hit and there's no lag time between changing weapons, the damage output can vary between 4200 - 4480dps across several ways you can utilise the combos, both of which exceeds the M-27's rate of 4118dps. Factoring in specific equipment set-ups, a combination with the Laser Cannon should output the most damage possible in the game if you used a hyper clip, and then timed the Thunder Armour's special ability to coincide perfectly with the Laser Cannon's firing duration (both last for 10 seconds). The problem with all this theory, realistically, is ensuring all your shots hit the enemy when there's that much hand movement on the screen (switching weapons, using items, activating abilities, etc), and how much time you end up spending changing between weapons and firing again. Sticking with one single weapon would reduce or eliminate these factors and thus steady your aim, making single-weapon dps calculations more realistic than theoretical when compared to multi-weapon dps calculations. Several points I'll mention quickly which I don't think require too much elaboration on: The Laser Cannon's overheat is less of a concern in the alien rush, because it's unlikely you'll actually need to fire the weapon for 10 seconds, while there's sufficient time between spawn times for it to cool down. The Laser Cannon's piercing properties make it more effective than the M-27 if you're shooting at an enemy cluster, and trying to compete against someone with a chaingun. Its speed penalty is one point less than that of the M-27, making it more useful in evading a boss's attacks.
Yeah, upgrading the Nova and M-27 sounds good to me: as much as the Crab is stronger than the Nova, it costs ridiculous amounts to upgrade - the crustacean can wait until later... I'd only recommend the gold-build for those who don't mind fighting with handicapped statistics. If they'd rather preserve their speed and power, I'd suggest the Perseus after the Thunder set; if they really can't wait, the Cygni's also a decent armour to upgrade to for more HP (power-wise, it's below par, but the additional speed point can be useful). The Thunder Hands will continue to be useful long after your weapons have been maxed out, particularly if you're using hybrid armour: if you don't need the extra HP, losing some in exchange for the 20% power is definitely worth it. Mithril purchase...I already mentioned it in a previous post, but the SAM bag hands down for investment purposes, and then the Windblade for an economic source of power. A close-range melee strike with the Windblade is actually stronger than 875 damage, because you're also hitting the enemy with the wave as well as the blade. The actual melee is presumed to be what the 875 damage represents, while the wave is presumed to be weaker, but the effect is strong enough to slice through weaker aliens on Stadium Arcadium in one blow. Excluding the Windblade...if there's nothing much more you want, and you want to lower the cost of firing your weapon, I'd suggest the LIT07 over the Crab. Assuming you want the Crab, and a unique mithril weapon, I'd go with Darthguy's favourite, the Trinity: despite the speed penalty, aliens will flinch from the exploding arrows, which gives you enough time to backpedal and fire another volley to kill them. The Laser Cannon isn't something I'd recommend under the assumption that we're stingy with our mithril Personally, my most used mithril weapon? The R700-AA - I use it as my primary weapon during the rush phases of Double Rages and Serpent, mainly to compete against M-27 and Nova users for alien kills by cutting through multiple enemies with a single blast that should be strong enough to kill most of them. With about 35% additional power from my armour pieces, I think it's only the plasma slugs and the bulls that I can't kill with one shot (the weaker railgun requires two shots to kill some of the souped-up purple aliens on Serpent when I'm in a team of 3). My playstyle with the R700-AA involves running around to make multiple enemies line up, before dragging the screen to align the crosshair. Tapping the right stick instead of holding it causes the gun to fire without zooming in. Do I like the railgun? Quite a lot. Would I recommend it as a mithril purchase? Not unless you like using the non-mithril railgun first.
Assuming cost isn't an issue? The Laser Cannon, hands down. Even if you fire it until it overheats, and don't change weapons, it still has a dps of 3500 against its next closest competitor in the LIT07 at 2375 (closely followed by the Crab at 2333, if you want to expand it to include gold weapons).
IRE! No, not really. I agree how it does gave a few drawbacks l, given it being the cooldown and it's enormous purchase and upgrade costs, but it is an amazing weapon. Seeing as ammo isn't a problem for me now (42,000,000 worth of the stuff), money will never be a problem (320,000,000 and growing), The laser cannon is an ideal weapon. Truthfully, it was a pain to buy and upgrade. I was unsure at first, but after I overcame the initial worries and found a secondary supplement weapon, the cannon was a dream. What I have to note though, is this: It takes a lot of patience to create a winning strategy for an expensive or unusual weapon. I'm sure it took a while for DBC to go from an amo hating noob to a swordmaster elite, and I'm sure Undead wasn't suddenly the best turtle on the hill. And me? Well, lets just say the disco ball wasn't in action until I worked out the kinks.

I agree, as the railgun fully upgraded is an amazing piece of work. Unfortunately, you either ill love it or hate it, due to it being somewhat hard to aim at times. I've personally worked it out, so I'm able to aim pretty well. It's a destroyer in PvP, killing everyone but Perseus/Cygni/(Andro?) users in a single shot. The only real problem is getting a pinpoint shot, with all the 8-11 speed users.
In PvP I can dodge most shots and wen the trinity is only 10 mithril more it seems a lot more effective... for me because to use a sniper you must be REALLY skilled to actually hit someone... I would definitely recommend trying out the first one first, almost purchased the second sniper, would've been a mistake... For me that is. And yeah, andro users have the best HP in the game.
