These "kind of thing" are commonly called bayonet And yes, they would actually make sense on the sniper and assault rifles.
I know but What I am talking about isn't one, it waves when yyou shoot it there isn't a seperate button to stab the "bayonet" into something.
nm I'm sorry, it's almost like I'm into account that not everyone knows what a grenade is or something.
By like 10%. Anyways, the idea is good, but I say it should be Fire 8s, cooldown 3-4s, since you're taking into account 1250D/S+ DoT 3s, even if the DoT is half of the base damage, that's stacking an extra 375 damage, not accounting if they stay within the fire. More so, while you assume that grenades aren't useful against serpent enemies, you have to untke into account skill. Assume the most powerful grenade deals a whopping 2500 damage. A player has to simply throw it onto the hole the serpent emerges from, and boom, the grenade(s) can deal a lot of damage to a Serpent. A flamethrower, on the other hundred, has to be quite near to the serpent to actually deal ANY damage. Then the player would be uselessly flaming the ground in hopes of catching the serpent in the fire. 2500>375 in my books. (These are sample numbers, although according to Darthguys wraps, I should be quite accurate. Also, one would assume a grenade to do 1000+ damage)
I was talking about the enemies not the boss wave, the flamethrower would be pretty bad... You don't even use grenade launchers vs. My everlasting skill for it, just joking. I suck at using it. But I use it unlike you, if your ideas came in action it would be great, I have to admit, I love them. I suggest a launcher that can switch grenade types in the battle so You can stun an enemy and burn it with the incendiary grenade, if your idea came to action a whole new playstyle(s) would be added. If my addon came in then the game would have so many cool playstyles... But be SOOOOOOOOOOOO unrealistic.
I use them, I just dislike them. I'm happy that you like my varying types of grenades idea, but some part of me is hoping for rather than a weapon to shoot it out of, it being an actual buyable consumable type grenade that can be placed/thrown. A mine would also be an interestingly new buyable to toy with. Even if it meant expanding bag slots, I like the idea of being in control of where you want a grenade, and the feeling of actually throwing one towards an enemy cluster, if you know what I mean. Its more of a skill in throwing rather than having many mini-nades shoot from a canister.
Newsflash for today: Rank 10 Nova lvl7, M27 lvl6 Finished all single player levels. Geez, the last two Stadium levels were tough, needed 2 25k healthpacks on the last one. Still cannot do Serpent due to lack of firepower Anyways, think I am making good progress here.
Not bad The Nova's considered a decent weapon for taking down bosses, according to previous posts and opinions on this thread prior to the whole community thing popping up on here. However, the M-27's level 8 damage output will more than double that of the Nova, so you might wanna keep levelling up that gun Also, a piece of advice for you specifically, as a fellow user of the Andromedae Legs: Serpent will move particularly fast relative to your footspeed when you're carrying the M-27 (particularly with its tail slam/shockwave, which has some ridiculous splash damage range), so if you feel like you need more speed to dodge, SWITCH WEAPONS TO BOOST YOUR SPEED. It might cost you a few seconds of a hyper clip, but Serpent can and will make short work of you if you don't respond accordingly when it focuses its attention on you. You can be a little more liberal with the M-27 when you have teammates to distract it every so often, but when you're facing it alone, it's best not to take chances just yet if you've got a speed of 5.
^Agreed. Perseus is effectively the Thunder Armour without the special ability and the 20% reduction in energy cost. What you get in exchange is an obscene level of resilience and 5% more gold, while speed and power equal that of the Thunder set. Your previous shopping list is still more profitable gold-wise, though.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Let's see... 1) Nova: After my first Serpent fight where I almost continuously used the Nova after the first minute of the fight where I used the M27, I decided to fully upgrade the Nova first. And I got me the Perseus legs for an additional speed boost. Which brings us to... 2) Perseus Armor: Working on it I think I will fully upgrade the M27 first, though. 3) Weapon switching: Yes, I have that in my tactics book And it is in my notes for the new player advise. I should have time to put those up later today so you can comment on them. I aim to polish them up and publish them in the Group on Monday. 4) Related to 1: I can do all other bossfights with the Andromeda legs just fine, but to use them in Serpent I need more firepower. 5) Oh yeah, the weird&wicked wyrm: Got 2 teamkills under my belt now. And I almost managed a 3rd on my own, after my 2 teammates died like 30 seconds into the bossphase without doing any significant damage. Had him down to a sliver of health when he got me for good. Lesson learned: bring 2 healthpacks, not only one. 6) Almost forgot that one: From what I read here, your consensus seems to be that the Crab is the next improvement over the Nova, correct?
The Crab has a higher damage output than the Nova, while sharing its advantage of having no speed penalties. It's a relatively expensive weapon to fire (300eps, against the M-27's 235eps and the Nova's 180eps), but you should find bosses die a bit quicker with the Crab. Sidenote 1: The Crab's plasma balls have some splash damage, so firing it at a crowd of aliens can take out a few of them at once. Be warned, however, that the plasma takes some time to travel through the air, so it's possible for someone with an M-27 to kill the same aliens you're shooting at before you can (M-27 bullets seem to travel almost instantaneously). Sidenote 2: A little known fact is that the LIT07 actually has a slightly higher damage output than the Crab (2375dps vs. 2333dps), while also costing less to fire (232eps vs. 300eps). It's just a question of whether you want to spend mithril on the LIT07, when you can buy some considerably more unique weapons (e.g. the Windblade, Trinity, Black Stars and Laser Cannon, all of which possess unique or rare properties not seen in other weapons of the same class, if not completely unique).
LIT07 is not worth it... Just use the M-2781 and any random weapon for weapon switching. I use the trinity now and it works fine and is only a little over double the price of LIT07 I would use the glitch on Nova if you want something like it...
Basically, If you've got a relatively high amount of mithril and a great deal of patience in creating a successful playstyle with the weapon, feel free to buy an Energy Glove (they're so pointless), Black Stars (This is a joke), Laser Cannon (talk to me), Trinity (Darthguy is the expert there), Windblade (definitely talk to DBC about it) or if not, go for the plain (but nevertheless effectively powerful) vanilla: Rifles, and the M2781 (which is to me what my signature cannon is to undead >.> If you have any questions on the Machinegun and strategies and tips, Undead is the way to go.) I'm also a pretty good sniper, if I do say so myself. (Undead and I are pretty good with them, as I've heard he too carries it along as a secondary.)
Darthguy, can you elaborate why you like the Trinity? It has a speed penalty, and from what I saw during a few battles, its projectiles travel slow and spread out. My recommendation is similar to undead's, to use a good dps weapon without speed penalty as secondary. What do you folks think of this as part of the new player guide: --- High Intermediate to making your way to endgame equipment, ranks 7-11, I'd say: Upgrade Nova and M27 first, while saving up Mithril for whatever you might want later. After getting the whole goldbonus armor set (minus the Andromedae arms, if you do not want to spend the Mithril for them), go equally for getting the full Perseus armor and another secondary weapon. For a non-Mithril weapon, Crab is recommended. Hands: I'd actually recommend the Thunder Hands over the Andromedae for the weapon levelup phase. The 20% additonal power make a huge difference still during that phase. --- What would be the best Mithril weapon recommendation for someone who still needs to be stingy with Mithril, and why in your opinion? If you favour a weapon because of a certain playstyle you prefer, please explain that as well. I think that will be a good addition to a player guide, to cover a few playstyles, together with one or two weapon/armor loadouts for each.
