Silver-based Rifle. Preferably Blue Level. First Crystal-based weapon. Nine-Inch, or preferably Apollon. First Crystal based weapon if you have zero interest in Co-op MP, ADKFA, Minotaur, or preferably Cyclops. Anything short range means virtually guaranteed consistent dying until you level up. Don't even bother with Flamers or Shotguns until you can get one with enough power to instantly kill what's in front of you... that would be at the least Purple Level Crystal-based Flamers & Shotguns. /off-topic DBC
Not yet you can't... but sooner than you think. Again, run Co-op MP, heal yourself so other players don't have to worry about picking you up, and see how far that takes you... and how quickly... DBC
Freyr might have a realllllll problem on their hands if their thread's gradually becoming hijacked by another game... But on the other hand...we seem to be forming a fairly tight-knit community which can transfer between games, so even getting one of us back could effectively result in getting everyone back too. Fancy that logic </offtopic>
^This^ Guys, I don't mind talking about BTHD, but I have been and continue really feeling rude doing so in another game's thread. If new questions are posted here, I'm going to restrain myself and not answer... Sorry. PM me, or head over to the BTHD thread... DBC
If they fix the present Co-op dynamic wherein players are actively rewarded for doing less, making not cooperating a safer, more lucrative play style, and make Mitthril distribution less of a frustrating joke on the players? Me, for sure. DBC
I'm still here, but my gameplay frequency has dropped a considerable amount. New content is enough to encourage me to play a little more, but it's really the mithril drop rates and encouragement of player cooperation that will make this thread as active as it was within the last month. A gaming community cannot be sustained if everyone starts falling away from it.
Anyone up for a quick survival match? I don't really know when, but possibly soon. (Dinner, starving ) This is BTHD, by the way.
Extremely good point. New content is always a motivator, but what I really want to see is an overhaul of the gameplay mechanics. Teamwork encouragement, fair mithril give-outs, at the very least an online and in-game messaging system, and maybe possibly something that matches you with players who do the same share of work. More in depth: The lists of matches aren't what I mean. I'm referring to the quick join option. Let's say everyone starts out with a score of 100. Depending on whether you've done a moderate amount of work that round or boss stage, your rating will increase slightly, until a max of say, 200? If you were freeloading the entire time, your rating will go down. Then with the matching system, you automatically get joined to a game with someone you know will do work. On the other hand, people who do nothing will be matched with similar players, in hopes that they'll learn to cooperate well.
You are a FREAKING genius. If Freyr institutes anything close to what you just laid out? Problem solved! {DBC makes the "Washing your hands of a problem" hand motion...} Heck, they could even tie Mithril distribution to the ratings... help out, better chance, don't help out, not-so-much... DBC
Yay, praise! It is a good idea, seeing as just SO many players run around with swords hoping to save money.
Sadly, I just loled at this, and not a funny lol... If I had a dime (or a Mithril) for every Mantis and PP boss fight I participated in where I was the only one with a gun drawn... well, until I assisted the other players with dying anyway... then I was the only one, gun or no gun. My favorite was seeing all the zeros next to their names, thinking, "Remind why exactly you're even playing this game again?" DBC
Great idea to motivate players. In a room, you could see a players score, so you could see if a guy is a sword moron or not
