I take that back. I've never played this game before. My first impressions are that it IS very teamwork based. I have no idea your standards or what is considered "good" in BTHD, but apparently I was able to make it to level 9, finish the daily quest, amass 6600 silver, get to wave 12 in multiplayer (despite dying twice a round past wave ten, before that I was fine), all in my beginner armor. I'm not sure how good that is though.... I should also consider buying new things... :/
I just typed up a response, but out of respect for this thread and the SW players, I'm going to PM you... DBC
Well, having played this virtually non-stop for the past couple weeks, thanks to some exceedingly generous help from one of the better players, at this point I would say this: First the good: At present, the game is beautiful, encourages growth as an individual player, has a decent level up system, and the IAP is not mandatory. Now the bad: Cooperation in Co-op MP is actually discouraged, which is very hard for me. To put it simply, players who literally do nothing often reap substantially higher rewards than players who actually try to do their best. The Mithril system is badly broken, awards players unfairly, does not increase motivation to play, and frankly makes the game far more frustrating than enjoyable. In short, check it out and see what you think. I was initially put off by the ammo management component, but it doesn't take too long or too much effort to get to the point where you don't notice it... If they fix the Mithril situation and figure out a way to reward genuine effort by teammates and quite frankly punish players who do nothing to contribute to Co-op MP, this game will never leave my phone. As it stands now, it's hard to play unless I'm playing with people I know and trust... Good luck! DBC
DBC I'm rather willing to play with you someyime, the single player mode bores me... No offense, wait I take that back, you're too old to take offense. But are they generous with their crystals? Answer: most definitely, I got 8 the first day I play vs. Getting 8 when I'm lucky with the best armor and wepons in SW.
For the record: I'm still playing this game (Star Warfare), but I might switch from joining random matches to hosting ones for now, given that people are becoming a bit weary of cooperation in the game being somewhat scarce beyond the odd random match and rooms organised from this thread. I'm online quite sporadically relative to everyone else in this thread, but if you see me online, feel free to crash the room. Also let me know if there's any particular team equipment configuration or strategy you wanna try out -- I'm stockpiling currency for when the next update hits, but I've got enough saved up to buy weaponry or support equipment if you want me to try playing in a certain way alongside you.
I'm just gonna run random matches when I'm online (not right now though), so I'll make a post here when I'm on, and edit it when I'm done for the day/session. What are your ranks, by the way? Need to ensure that I'm not screening you out accidentally when I'm trying to limit the number of freeloaders getting in... ----- Edit: Superion/Umbrablade, and anyone else who's still playing/checking this thread, that includes you guys as well -- last I recall, there were at least a few people sitting at Rank 8-9, but I wouldn't be surprised if things have changed since then
I'm actually reading up/preparing for another game as I'm writing this, but if you're interested, I might do a few runs right now. (Edit: finished runs for now, disregard this bit) For the record, if I've never played with you, I'm usually the player with a pale chest piece (Cygni), blue arms and legs (Andromedae), and a blue head with pointed ears (Phoenix). In other words, I'm the spitting image of a Blastoise >.>
Oh right, whoops. Miiight wanna specify the game if you don't mean Star Warfare on this particular thread, I sorta didn't recognise that as a BTHD gun because I've only tried dabbling in the game today >.> Speaking of which...how are you finding the enemies over on BTHD? I'm still lvl 7 for now, but the speed of those enemies is forcing me to fight in an strikingly similar fashion to DBC and his Cutter when he started SW...except that I'm doing this with pistols =.="
Look on its twitter/Facebook page. Here https://twitter.com/#!/FreyrGames http://www.facebook.com/pages/Freyr-Games/159454344141173
They seem a little scarce on their tweets...and I just spied a guy on fb who was telling people to get the Freedom pack. *cue epic headdesk*
