I agree. In one of the screenshots the guy has billions of gold and ammo in the store.

    And I thought 100m & 3m was pretty good...

    {hangs head in shame...}

Quick question, how do you bank ammo? I usually just put all my earnings from Mantis and PP into ammo after my first 2 pay-outs. Do you have a system?

4900. With the proper gear, I can get it to nearly 10,000 base. Add a hyperclip and a stk.f, it'll hit about 22,000 per shot.

You're forgetting my 675 mithril :) oh, and I don't really have a system. Seeing as I never ever ever run out, that is. My old system, which you may or may not like, was this: Always have a reserve count of ammo. I reccomend 1 million. (for less rich players, aim for 100,000) now, on to the real plan. Run a boss that gives you a fairly moderate challenge. Calculate the ammo you used on the boss, and always keep about 3 times said amount on hand. That way, you always have a reserve to fall on, if you ever need to cut off your ammo funds in exchange for upgrade money, and due to carrying 3 times your estimated spending, you definitely wont be suddenly out of ammo due to a spike in the monster difficulty. Hows this plan? It sure got me through noob days.

    It's funny you say this...

Talking specifically about the amount of ammo used on a boss, I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth trying to get my Mithril pay-outs out of Mantis and PP, since that's where most of the leaches hang out.

If I end up doing all the work on Mantis or PP, is it even worth the ammo involved?

I love playing with motivated lower rank players, but the leaches are really getting me down...:(

I hate admitting it, but I'm getting closer to just staying with Rank 10+ games, unless I know the player.:(

I already 3-hit a solo mantis (less than 5 seconds) with full Perseus and no hyperclip. Change of armor boosts damage 2,500ish, makes it about 9800? Hyper clip it, 19,600. So nearly 20k per shot. In team games, like co-op or tdm, player sometimes have a stk.f pack, so that's a bonus 20%, making about 24,000. Without hyperclip, armor change, and stk.f, my sniper at 7,350 damage still is a 1-hit for most players under rank nine, and two for everyone else. Assuming the shot hits. Which is difficult.

This game is starting to bore me... This is bad.
*hangs head in shame* I start to like MC3 because it has a storyline whereas... This doesn't. I don't have that much money but they NEED to have an update, on some games you just never get bored knifing people.:D
Help me!!!!!! Freyr, come up with something cool gold purchasable! You must!!!!!!!!! If you want players of course.:D;)

    Oh no!!!
After reading the last two pages of this thread I'm feeling like I'm stuck in the middle
Not strong enough yet to take on Siegfried , double rages or serpent and it being pointless to waste ammo in PP or Mantis being where I mine my gold and occasional Mithril
Should I even bother trying to mine more gold to update my M-27 to level seven or complete my WB to eight!
I guess I will because of invitations from very helpful forum members here to go on runs against bosses I haven't even seen yet
So I'll just keep on trying

Do you like campaign? I like multiplayer but I get bored when everyone could kill me so easily

I was going to post this earlier (Maybe I did?), buuuut...

When your WB is strong enough to one-hit-kill smaller enemies, stop upgrading, what you need is a complete mid-level armor set (*cough*Thunder*cough*) and most importantly, the M-27 at level 8 ASAP.

You'll get out of the Mantis/PP phase as soon as you can produce enough damage to dispatch larger enemies quicker, and the M-27 is your ticket out. If your M-27 is at or even close to full capacity, you can comfortably do (arguably) the most efficient grinding in the game, the hill in Siegfried, otherwise known as Lair. You'll have two bulls to kill, some rolling turtles (no, not undead.exe;)), and some roman candle slugs, but other than that... fish in a barrel.

For perspective, if you survive the beginning phase of Siegfried, you net $300,000.00. Yes, you read it correctly.

Frankly, I wouldn't even farm Mantis if I were you. I'd take out my M-27, pack a lunch and some sunscreen, and go for an extremely violent camping trip up on Lair hill...

Thanks Drummerboycroy for all these excellent suggestions
Just a little bit more gold and I can get the full Thunder suit... Was contemplating this earlier today after reading some posts
Then I'll build up the M-27 to full tilt and then it's Siegfried and the others preferably with an excellent teammate along for the runs
I like your idea for a picnic with sunscreen and M-27:)
    :);)

I just arbitrarily refill my ammo till it's about 300,000 for no particular reason: 150k was enough for me against any single boss, but I'd have to keep restocking my ammo alongside my hyper clips. I recently upped the amount to 1,000,000, but that's making me far less aware of how much ammo I'm wasting when I spray rather than aim.

Enjoo and DBC have already recommended the M-27B1 and the Thunder Armour, I'll recommend which equipment to go for first depending on what your key concerns are:

    • If you're having trouble surviving: Get the Thunder Legs, if you don't already have leg armour which increases your speed. If you do, and still need more HP, you may want to consider the Thunder Chest if the Legs don't seem to give you enough HP for your liking.
    • If gold is the issue: Thunder Head, hands down. That helmet is expensive, but you'll love the extra 10% gold once you buy it. The ECO and SAM bags are also worthwhile investments in terms of gold, but they in themselves won't really improve your survival prospects against bosses compared to the other options on hand.
    • If stuff isn't dying quickly enough for your liking: Upgrading your chaingun is good, but also take a look at the Thunder Arms: it's an instant 20% power boost to all your weapons, AND it comes with additional HP, so it's a very good choice if you want both power and HP immediately.

Well...no biggie, really, whatever order you want to get stuff in -- you'll wind up getting them all anyway :p
