Trigger happy, heh. Survival would be a good place for the entire LOTR scene. We all play (undead, DBC, and I) for a few minutes then report in. "OVER 9000 KILLS!"

    Good morning everyone!
@undead.exe Yeah laser cannon actually firing for 1 second is the best but DBC makes it sound like it is too powerful where it really isn't compared with the M-2781 it has 1000-ish more damage per second when the only enemy that takes more than 1 sec to kill is the bull... So the laser cannon dream is happening slowwwly.:D
    189 mithril right now.
When I played with you, you barely used the laser cannon, why is that?

Play with me more often. Everyone who's played with me has to either keep up or shoot at the corpses in front of them that I've already killed :) keeping up is difficult, lemme tell ya. Oh, DBC, idk if I have any time for a Siegfried, but I may be able to run a full round of them later, or possibly a very very quick one in a few minutes.

Re corpses: Yeah, trust me Darthguy, you want to play a round of Siegfried with Superion. It's quite frankly pretty amusing. I honestly don't know if I've ever laughed so hard while (attempting) killing things...:p;):D

I would love to do a Siegfried or 10, and I've also still got to get my pay-outs for Serpent and Rages, but I've gotta go for a bit. Please come back later though!;):D

First off, I should say that I'm currently taking some downtime from killing stuff because a rather incessant headache is making it hard to concentrate on playing properly =.="

The reason I barely used the Laser Cannon was because we were playing on Siegfried: consider that the hill's elevation means that enemies won't be blocking each other from my field of vision until they actually start climbing on the hill, meaning that the cannon's piercing ability is relatively moot. Given the relatively low HP of the aliens on Siegfried, I'm going with the M-27B1 because of its relatively lower energy cost (235 per second, against the Laser's 500). While I've pulled out the Laser Cannon on the boss before, that was actually as part of the Laser/chaingun combo that you mentioned a few posts back: constantly switching between them was messing up my aim and dodging ability significantly, so I've pretty much shelved the LC again.

However, the levels on Double Rages and Serpent involve little to no elevation variances, which is where I suspect the Laser Cannon's attributes will significantly outperform that of the M-27B1. The Laser Cannon can pretty much be used to sweep the field of multiple enemies converging on you one after the other, whereas the M-27B1's bullets can only ever hit one enemy at a time. Combined with the fact that the enemies are noticeably tougher in Serpent than Siegfried, I would imagine that the LC makes life easier than using the M-27B1.

For the record, I actually use a railgun instead of the LC on Double Rages and Serpent: while they both share the ability to pierce multiple enemies, the railgun's lack of a start-up charge makes it quite potent for ensuring that you're the one getting the kill when you're pulling the trigger on an enemy.

Darthguy, put it this way: watching Superion do business on Siegfried/Lair is sorta like watching a disco ball go shoop-da-whoop and fire its lazar in just about every single direction in the centre of the map: it's one hell of a light show, and I'm tempted to call him the "Janitor of Siegfried" -- because he'll pretty much wipe the place squeaky clean of all enemies quite effortlessly if you let him.

Unless you can match his agility and scanning skills, the only real way I've found so far to keep up with the dancing disco-ball is to sit on my favourite spot and systematically snipe enemy clusters that he isn't looking straight at -- because if I so much as blink, he just scythes through everything I'm eyeing >.>

Nice way to put everything in. For the record as well, I too use a railgun as my secondary in almost all situations. As you all have noticed, I perform incredibly well with the laser cannon, and since I fight overheat, my railgun dishes out major DPS in my cannon's downtime. I would assume, with the right equips, I could theoretically deal nearly 60,000 damage with a hyper clip on my cannon's downtime. That would require me to perform 2 switches in .5 seconds though, so I can be a second late back to the cannon for the sake of damage.

This has to be probably the funnies thing I've read all day. You could probably call me THE Janitor, seeing as I technically do what you said on pretty much every map :p

Just did 4 more random Siegfrieds (waiting for my food to cook;))... nothing.

On a positive (but cynical:eek:;)) note, I did find it rather hilarious to keep moving away from the guy who was carrying a Cutter and trying to position himself behind me... why oh why do these people even play the game?
