Beating the final boss on normal mode will reset your heroic mode progress.

Youre not going to beat somebody with top tier armor and a rail gun unless they mess up badly, sorry. When I reach the level to unlock the rail gun and my armor, Ill happily challenge you, just me and you in a game.

You may think youre beating them, but in reality youre killing most of the relatively lower levels and getting kill streak rewards which may kill them sometimes, as well as making your score look good so you think youre doing good

You with full health vs him with full health will result in you dying 100/100 times

    Guess what? Classified.
    Classified.
*assuming both have the same skill level and there are no other advantages/disadvantages

This is hardly the case in most situations, but no matter how much skill the opponent lacks- one lucky shot and you're a goner. Basically.

Even if you get the drop on them, you can't kill them fast enough for the 2-5 second advantage to make much of a difference.

I won't deny that I cant survive from someone using aimbot with a weapon that can easily kill me with one charged shot, but fact is no one has aim bot and no one is good enough to even come close to it. Heck I have a 91.5% win rate and my accuracy is a miserable 57% and mine is on the high end when compared to players who have played more than just PvE. So I think my chances are fairly good assuming your only going to use a sniper or railgun which have horrible accuracy issues. I think my chances are probably 30/100 of dying, but thats just me, the average player may have a 80/100 but it is in no way 100/100. And my idea of average player is someone who hasn't prestiged once yet.

And I wouldn't have said anything regarding beating higher ranked players if I didn't one v one them in the first place, which they only used the sniper and railgun. I have beat a handful of players with end game gear while myself using the 2nd armor and using the Trip 9654 Storm assault rifle and was very easy since one missed shot and they are dead or if I just get the drop on them, because I do that much dmg with it.

Now if your going to say if two equal players face each other the best geared will win, then yes, but that is not my point, we have already established that. My point is that it IS possible to beat better geared players by being a better more skillful player and having some luck never hurt. Also, just a heads up if you haven't played much PvP, but not very many, very very few, actually have any skill at playing. But what would you expect, the game just came out like a week ago.

Ive done the same using a low-mid game assault rifle and just running circles around higher levels right next to them (so they cant turn quickly enough because they were bad) and killed them in 10 seconds. When they could have taken me out in 2 seconds if they didnt suck.

Yes, it's possible. Does that make the game's balancing issues any less horrible? No..

I havent prestiged yet actually, i dont play that often. But when i reach high enough level ill choose any weapon and any armor, and you use your storm (i think the 1st weapon is too unfair) and 2nd set of armor and ill play you. We ll see how many kills you get, and if you still think its fair

Where in the world are you getting that I think the game is fair? Literally every paragraph every sentence has been around, if you have more skill, if you have more skill, if you have more skill, if you have some luck. Jeez. I am saying it is not impossible and really isn't that hard given how good most players are. Doesn't take a game designer to know that obviously the later armor have better stats and do more damage. Lastly, most players won't even use the 2nd armor, they will be using the 3rd or 4th or a combination of them and that will only make things easier and easier. You don't need to have equal gear to beat players with better gear.

But anyways, I will gladly take you up on the challenge! If your pretty good I probably won't be much of a match, but will at least be fun! =p

Does anyone have experience using the MIT-Blue backpack, that gives "+50% Energy Damage when equipping only one ENG weapon" ?

I ran several tests against Stage 3-Normal boss Frostbite, with Railgun lvl.2, Dragonhunter(+dam vs. boss) Void skill, and Energy Source (+25% Eng Dam) Armour Set.
For all below, I needed 8 fully charged railgun shots to kill it, did not notice any difference in damage:
    - Railgun only, MIT-Blue backpack
    - Railgun & Energy Rifle, MIT-Blue
    - Railgun & Comet Shotgun (bullet weapon), MIT-Blue

    - Railgun only, Gravity backpack (+15% POW)
    - Railgun & Energy Rifle, Gravity
    - Railgun & Comet Shotgun (bullet weapon), Gravity

    - Railgun only, Wang-VIII backpack (no damage bonus)
    - Railgun & Energy Rifle, Wang-VIII
    - Railgun & Comet Shotgun (bullet weapon), Wang-VIII

Someone can easily misinterpret the description. I did too until I realised that it only works if you equip one single weapon, which should be an energy weapon. So dont equip any other weapon, only the energy weapon should be equipped. Trust me, You will immeditaly recognize when it works cuz it's a huge dmg boost. ;)

Btw, I've found a hint about firerate. It's in the character stats screen where it says
Firerate - xx.xx/s so you were right Nullzone.
This means FR is shots per second.
Can we gather some max Lv weapon dmg outputs? I can only provide the pistols cuz it's the only weapon which is at Lv8 atm.
It's 315 dmg which should be 3150 dmg per second (315*10.00) without any buffs.

@Nekku: see above, I tested with having only the Railgun as weapon, no damage difference I noticed.
UPDATE: that's odd. I tried again, and this time I only needed 5 shots, not 8.
    So the thing works ;)

    Weapons List

Sure thing, here is what I currently have.
All stats are for level 8, in format Damage * Firerate = Damage/Second.
    AR=Assault Rifle, (E)SG=(Energy)Shotgun, RPG=Rocketlauncher, EG=Energy Glove

    UNCC-010 Precursors AR : 56 * 5 = 280
    UNCC-020 Dynamic SG : 434 * 0.8 = 347.2
    UNCC-040 Driller RPG : 403 * 0.77 = 310.31
    AUNC-1 Dusk AR : 74 * 7.14 = 528.36
    FIW HolyStinger ESG : 728 * 0.77 = 560.56
    F-STD AnimusRipper EG : 350 * 1.67 = 584.5
    UNCC-777 Neon-7 RPG : 1260 * 0.67 = 844.2
    CPPS-I Bloodmoon SG : 700 * 1.25 = 875

I copied it to the Acheron Bar&Grille thread as well. If more folks provide input, I can add it there.

    @Robertshadow:
Where exactly do you have problems?
I just replayed, and the boss either appears after ~115 kills, or when the clock reaches ~1:30. Not sure, because both happened at the same time.
I never tried to not damage it, so I don't know if you can just wait it out.
~30 seconds of concentrated fire and a hit from my Collapsar Void, and he ran off: level won with 50 seconds left on the clock.

Your weapon needs to be powerful enough that you can more or less oneshot everything except the Bull. If you need to waste time to kill the small aliens, you are on a damn tight schedule.

Hmm, that should be enough. How many kills do you have before time runs out?
And you have to make the kills while you are within the marked area.

Then you are too slow with the killing, I think. Try to go for >100 kills before the clock reaches 1:30, and you should be good.
Never move out of the marked area, to not miss on any kills.
