Easily my first pick this week. I only had about $7 to spend and I already know Hoggy 2 is super tough. Eventually a few more treats will pop up. But so far this is my kind of game through and through.
Can't really tell from the trailer, is this turn based or real time? Edit: Thank you both for the explanations below. Sounds cool, gonna pick it up now.
Kind of? It's interesting. Essentially every time you do an action - move, attack, etc., the enemies will react to it. But it isn't 1:1, so if you're fast enough you can slip an extra move in here and there as the enemies are reacting. What's nice is that it gives you as much time as you want to think about the best scenario (since everything happens in a bit of a chain reaction), but once you set things in motion, you gotta stick with it.
It is kind of hard to explain quickly. Basically you have your Vikings on the left side and you slide each one individually forward to try to get them all to the other side so you can move on to the next screen/or level completion. The fighting is basically you drag a Viking over an enemy and if the Vikings atk power is equal to or stronger than the enemies life it dies. If not the enemy retaliates and some enemies atk back differently. But the skills /combos is where things change from basic to strategic. See if an enemy is hit and doesn't die it does it's atk as I said, but it doesn't matter what is near it it could be another enemy and it still atks. So you can use a long range skill or trap (those are also around each grid) so hit one enemy and have it cause a chain reaction where enemies galore just start killing each other before you even start moving your Vikings across the lvl. It's very fun, strategic, and super goofy. I mean come. What's he say at the beginning something like "say goodbye to Mr. Butt" while mooning someone? lol priceless
really enjoying the game, I'm thru the first couple of screens of levels now and really like the original concept and relaxed play style.
Really liking this game, and I know it's never a good thing to take to the keyboard just after a bad experience, buuuuuuuuut... It crashes. Seemingly at the worst times. I have twice now had the game crash just as I finish a level. It boots back up without recognising you cleared the stage. Annoying as hell.
Would you guys possibly add some istickers in a near future update? Especially one with the leader Viking mooning, like he does at the beginning of the story. I dunno if anyone else uses istickers but sometimes I'll buy a game and find out they have a set included in the purchase. I've gotten some pretty cool /goofy ones like from Slayaway camp, dan the man, even from summoners war (which I've played that for just over 3 yrs now) anyway just a request/suggestion
What device and os version you using? Just curious because I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus 10.3.2 and haven't crashed once. I've played for quite a few hours but I haven't gone to the moon yet I'm trying to finish every level on snail planet first.
That's so weird lol. But you what? Some phones just eff up on some games. I bought dead age a few weeks ago when it came out and it's a post apocalyptic zombie survival/turn based rpg game. Anyways in the game around day 25 and higher only in 2 specific levels during the night the game would crash when I'd go in to battle. I was stuck so I told the devs and they said no one has reported the same problem. Apparently t was just me. I even hard restart, deleted and reinstalled game but it didn't work same problem. So I kept bugging them. Well they finally fixed it or so they say I'll tell you after I downloaded the "fix" I tried it and the game still crashed lol
Hey, sorry to hear that. That device should run fine... Can you try to gather any more intel on the crashes for me? Anything consistent that seems to happen each time when it happens (i.e. tons of enemies on screen, a certain effect like the fog modifier, etc). Thanks! If you get more info you can also email me at "david [at] akuparagames [dot] com"
Thanks for the the info, I can't remember anything in particular that could have caused the crashes. But I'm pleased to report that I haven't had any more crashes since my first post. Both crashes were on the same level, I forget which, but it was on the Snail Planet and I needed to advance 5 screens to win. I have noticed that if I close the game mid level and revisit it later, crashes are more frequent. Now I only take a break after I've cleared a stage fully.
@AkuparaGames Just picked this up and really enjoying it so far - even the tutorial levels have me scratching my head looking for the optimal route through! One request though please - any chance we could have a 'skip dialogue' button? I'm actually finding the dialogue very amusing, the sense of humour has appealed to me so far, however it gets a bit boring to hear over and over again when replaying levels. I know I can speed up/skip each conversation dialogue box but I still have to sit there tapping my way through before I can start the level. An additional skip button would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Is there ever a talent reset in this game? I just got to the moon and see that each tavern has its own specialty for bonuses....and I realize that th folks I hired aren't best suited for how I am leveling them, which is kind of a drag...
ZS77 - Glad you're enjoying the game. Regarding 'skip dialogue' button I have put in the request to the dev team and will let you know if they proceed forward with the fix! Solarclipse - There isn't, but the idea is sort of that you just keep buying and getting new teammates for your squad. Eventually you'll probably want to ditch your original team for a team with better perks. Personally I just used early teams to figure out which abilities I liked, and then when I found someone who was a real keeper, I proceeded forward with the talents I liked the most from previous experiments. Maybe not ideal, but that's how the designer intended it to be.
