I do not think that I have overreacted, but that is my point of view. When I overreact that would look somehow different and believe me no one wants to witness that Hrhrhr. You know it is like that hell burns to ashes Yes, it's only $3, and yes I know that I still can support indie devs, why shouldn't I . But anyway they remain 3 wasted $
At level 19. Still playing, but I have to say that it's not a good game. I would describe it as an interesting Star Trek "toy". I have experienced many crashes when taking a mission or changing from missions to ship view. Another reoccurring bug is with the crew. I will assign one to a room, but their 'clone' still hangs out in their bunk (I wish I could pull that trick off in RL). Also, the room with the clone won't function, that is, I cannot assign or re-assign a worker. Please fix all these bugs!
If they don't make this free or turn down the wait times, there won't be anyone left playing to fix bugs for.
I've played this game up to level 20 now and I did a massive grind for the 59 dilithium to get Kirk and I'm back up to 24 and on my way to get Spock and the others. I'd say I enjoy everything except a few things.. oh i just leveled to 21 as I'm typing =).. I wish we could build rooms or that current rooms also effected the ship mini game for things like giving use torpedo use or tractor beam speed increase or a shield with hits based on the level of the room. Rooms that can purify your resources allowing you to get more per level of a certain kind when grinding. More aliens and even ones that shoot at you and/or come for multiple directions. Many more can be thought of I'm sure and all would help lessen the repetitive grind. The second thing I'm having trouble with (let me know if you can help anyone), is I have tried to level up my stats of my characters as much as possible ( I have 2 normal and 1 premium academy), but it seems thus far by doing that it has done nothing to increase my percentage of success on mission when I have to select 1 or 2 people. I wish I could have some sort of tutorial to understand how it all works. Thirdly I think this game would be sweet if it had a multiplayer feature 4 on 4 pick your best team energy cube match in real time, but that can be in much later patches =P Overall tho it's was worth my 3 bucks and who really wants TNG characters on the Original Enterprise anyway??
Afraid I get a different experience- it takes a loooooooong time for dilithium to show up, and maybe about every other time I play the mini grinder. Also god damn those Orion pirates who hoover up all the command / resource / power crystals. A quick hint about the mini shootemup - grinder and dilithium: Spoiler The dilithium is hidden in two pieces in my experience, one looks like a circular frisbee/primary hull and the other looks like the front part of a warp nacelle. If you're gunning for dilithium only, you can literally ignore every other piece of space junk as far as I can tell.
Hi all, So I have just registered and I am using my precious roaming data just to vent off. This was a must buy for me as a Star Trek fan and I really try hard to like the game, but it get on my nerves to the point where I'll just go to the appstore and will give it a one star. What is wrong with the game? That's what: Bought it over a week ago, just before heading to a holiday trip. On the first night I tried to play it... Aaand nope! This game requires internet connection to download further content. What the hell? Roaming costs me its weight in gold, but the things we do for love. Roaming turned on, and 1 euro later game is running and I am in the chair of cpt.Kirk yuppie! Turned it off for a few minutes, then resumed and... It needs connection again!! WTF? Without it just quits on the loading screen. Maybe I should complain to Apple that this app requires attention on what it downloads and uploads every time I try to play? List of other gripes: Typos, after a few hours of play I found at least 4 typos, annoyance level +10. Power management. Seriously I can play Asphalt 8 longer than Trexels. I have no idea what engine they have used to make this game but it is optimised to suck the power from my phone. CBS greed. Looks like CBS is new Zynga. The game is a grinding fest and prices are ridiculous. And last but not least crash-bugs. Not a show stopper but annoying when the game crashes. So, greedy big wigs from CBS should reconsider and instead of selling dilithium they should sell premium content like new adventures or expansions or in a couple of months this game will fall into oblivion.
Quick question. Should I get this game or Star Command? I've heard people compare the two, it may not be valid. But still, I'm debating between the two.
Lol good question. Out of frustration with Trexels I went back to Star Command an I have to say that after recent updates it is much more entertaining. The story is pretty weak, but it is funny and does not try to milk you using IAP's.
Buggy missions that don't actually bring your crew. Paywalls that require IAP currency that accrues at criminally low speeds. Uninteresting gameplay when you actually get the resources to go on a mission. Would not buy again.
He may have slightly overreacted but judging how this forum thread has come to a complete halt once everyone realized the timer issue was so bad I don't think he is that far off base. The devs need to fix a few issues including the rape fest that the IAP prices are set at or sales will probably plummet.
And to be honest, I love it when devs pop up on this site to talk with the fans. I feel better about my purchase, and if you are going to make an iOS game what other site would you want to love your game other than this one? Its the best mobile game site on the web by far IMHO. Yet no sign of these guys, they should be addressing these issues.
I've just put in a refund request for this game ... initially just went to post a 'report a problem' about this 'game' since its a huge buggy mess but on the screen confirming my comment it said eligible for refund ... so i did Not supporting a developer that wastes such a valuable licence for a treasured IP like this .... could have been an amazing game like a 'Game Dev Story' type or TinyTower with missions and content But simplistic puzzles, horrendous grind, expensive costs and pricey IAP ontop of the £2 entry price (i know £2 isn't much but at least let me have a reasonable stab at a game before gouging me to death with IAP blocking grind) just doesn't do this justice and i'm done with it. The ship has no ambience and the small sound-bites are just clipped and repetitive
Second screen of planets, just hit the first mission where dilithium is absolutely required to complete the assignment. This is an IAP fest.
Not feeling all the hate here. Yeah, it's buggy - I've been in contact with the devs and they're aware of and working on the known bugs for the next update. I love the music clips. Yes, it's a bit grindy. I don't mind the timers much, as pick it up and put it down a quite a bit. I totally am not buying the $10 uniform IAP's. Way too pricey, and doesn't effect gameplay. My biggest gripe is that I had to figure everything out on my own by trial and error. The documentation for this game is nonexistant and the UI is not exactly intuitive. Still, I like it. I'm on level 26, and still interested.
Dude... I don't mind timers but hell, these are ridiculous... More so because we paid three bucks for this crap.
In the game menu there's an option to 'contact us'. So I did. They're also active on Twitter, where they run a trek trivia contest. I won the other day, they gave me the option of a promo code for a free copy of the game, or some dilithium, which I chose because I already own the game. Nice folks. They're aware of most bugs & balancing issues, and are working on them for the next update.
good news... i'll hope let us play the game shutting down those f***ing timers and iaps! i've twitted them that i'm near to uninstall it, regardless my initial favorable impressions!!!
