Which is pretty cool, I actually enjoy the whole gameplay loop gachas, they’re just prohibitively expensive, and you know, evil. Story is interesting enough, they integrated the whole concept of mixed timelines really well and made it the focus of the narrative. I’m curious to see how they handle progression, you get a bunch of characters just playing the story, and then there’s the usual dungeons/arena pvp/guild/weekly and daily events system most gachas have. There’s a shop, but you can’t spend real money, obviously. The other thing gacha games usually do is have plenty of updates, new characters, more story content, and new modes, but usually they’re just motivated by the increasing cash-flow. I wonder how that’ll work here. They do seem to indicate they want to expand the game further, so let’s see I guess. All in all, it’s been as fun as gachas usually are in the beginning, and the lack of micro transactions is certainly refreshing and very welcome, as you don’t have that looming feeling of being preyed upon. Which isn’t a bad thing at all since there’s a good reason why so many people get hooked into these type of games. The great thing about it is that whaling or pay to win is effectively eliminated while still maintaining the addictive gameplay loops and grind. Yes. For me updates are the lifeblood of any type of collection game. The devs always need to dangle a carrot in front of the player to keep them engaged. I do wonder if a premium gatcha will have the legs that their free to play counterparts have (Galaxy Of Heroes/Strike Force/Epic Seven/FateGO). I’ve always assumed that the rabid fans that spend a ton of money are the reason why the most popular gatchas get frequent updates years after release. If you just take any gacha, and remove the micro-transactions, the resulting game is a slow, slow mess of a grind. Hence all the aggressive updating and “gifting” gachas usually engage on, necessary to keep the f2players occupied. This game seems to account for that and provides a straightforward experience, balanced from the get-go as a premium experience, while still maintaining those sweet gameplay loops. Which is why I don’t think it was ever intended as a f2p game, because when you play a game that was meant to be monetized through iaps and later in development turned premium, you can always tell something is off. Anyway, I’m also curious to see how this game evolves, precisely for the reasons you described. I guess this is a subscription service, after all, but will it be enough...? Will the developers be updating the game regularly, and for how long? As your typical FTP RPG game with all the bells and whistles of FTP, we all agree you can tell this was orginal going to be a FTP game i'm sure it would not take much to turn it back. While I do not know the cut that Apple gives to developers that release on Apple Arcade I hope the money they do give (which is life blood of any heavy FTP) is enough that the two developer will carry on adding content to the game. I would not be suprised if this game appears on google play later on down the line.
