I don't understand some people and the things they find enjoyment in. I invested on both Kickstarters to the tune of $100 total. I have no qualms with the Brothers Coombs. This is what Kickstarters are about. Take a risk to invest in an individual or small group to help them with a chance to reach their dream. Not all plans work out... I've had any projects so ambitious that I got in over my head.. And I've read enough posts by other gaming Kickstarter project holders to know the many ways that money can evaporate faster than moonshine. To suggest they took the money and blew it on themselves is preposterous. They've stuck to and the game is coming. If you want a set in stone release timeframe or to make investments in definitively detailed game development but stock in a big box publisher... I'd rather help a little guy.. Success or failure.. I wasn't buying a finished game. I was buying a pair of brothers a shot at making a game that sounded amazing on paper. You people think they enjoyed the delays.. The years of personal investment without any reward other than everyone losing faith and berating you... Most would give up.. Many will fail. I hope they don't ... I respect the for seeing this through... Don't have any regrets Warballoon.. But you will always get further with honey...

Edit.... And From what I see they didn't meet any of their ambitions or make the game described.. Pity... Please port FTL already ... I still hope they do alright for the me invested and the game is remotely enjoyable.. But too bad they didn't involve the community an make that turn based space exploration game they envisioned... Sometimes plans fail.. Or maybe it was failed planning

I'll just pretend that I gave money to Star Citizen too so I can feel good. Looks amazing.

I am a huge sucker for everything space related. I most recently put 70 hours into Faster Than Light. I imagine I'll sink 50 or so into Star Command, and if Star Citizen lives up to half of what it is claiming, we might be looking at 300 hours (Freelancer + mods record).

Nothing they can say or do could make me respect them less than I respect Peter Molyneux.

Lol I haven't listened to a word he's said since Fable first came out.

And I'm sure Star Command could be total rubbish and still be better than that horrible Curiosity "experiment".

Sounds a bit love-it-or-hate-it right now. I'm not looking forward to the bitching in the release thread. I can deal with critics, but please, voice your concerns in the appropriate manner.

The IGN preview vid is awesome. Differs from FTL and Game Dev Story as it follows a plot line.

The look of the diff forms of artwork interacting with each other works. The intensity ramps up with pressure being put simultaneously on different components of the ship.

It's a shame this game carries the baggage it does because I think if it just dropped un announced it would be a really exciting release. Looks really fun to me :)

One review completely hated it, another enjoyed it. Need some more internet reviews.

On a side note, thanks to whoever mentioned star citizen, makes me feel great to be a pc gamer. That and Prison architecht have me excited.

I don't think PocketTactics thought it was that bad. They mentioned it having similarities to FTL and Kairosoft titles which can only be positive and they finish on an intentionally ambiguous note... probably so you'll come back for the review. Even if they did mention a bunch of downsides it's still a little way off "completely hated".

They didn't hate it at all. They said your enjoyment of it will depend on what you were expecting. Fair variable to mention as it will be THE deciding factor for many people

It's also the reason I'm dreading the release topic. There seems to be a huge number of people who've hyped this game way beyond reasonable expectations. We're definitely going to hear some of their reactions.

Haha agreed. It's an instabuy for me but I'm not gonna be trying to put out any fires in the release thread. Ill have a look in the smoldering wreckage a week later for signs of life. You're on body disposal :)

Star Command, at root, is a simple, repetitive, and decidedly linear game. At times, it feels surprisingly rough-shod for a game that’s been in development for as long as it has. The dialogue contains spelling mistakes and grammatical fumbles. The token system with which you buy upgrades and charge certain ship systems is flat and uninteresting. The campaign has a thin story with a plot twist you’ll see coming miles away.

This was the summary paragraph for his review.(There is a paragraph after that, that laments over the thought of this on the PC in its current state.) While their are positives touched upon(fighting, graphics) , they touch upon more negatives in the review.

I guess everyone is gonna read what they want, but I just had 5 gamer buddies, read both reviews, and they agreed, 1 positive, 1 negative.
