Completed second play through ... thought i'd missed some content by picking wrong options .... find basically with the single exception of 1 most of the battles are simply unavoidable and this game is SHALLOW Very disappointed given the time taken .... Graphics and Music are lovely but the game is little more than a click fest... no depth, no variety and over in a couple hours. Given the Devs admitted most of the pledge money went on the Kickstarter rewards and only a small fraction on development its a bit understandable but IMHO they should have stuck to iOS only and focussed efforts on a single GOOD game rather than a multi-platform time waster Surely it couldn't have been that hard to add some missions ... even if they were only some different dialog trees with some rewards / penalties ... would have been something but not this ... Once you figure out the couple of tricks in battles etc they present little challenge.. A long long wait and while this game could never have lived up to expectations its not even living up to a half decent standard of gameplay. Poor show ...
i'm still having fun with the game, and since i know some people who are struggling, it's nice that the devs are updating it to fix balancing. i do have a question, which i didn't see asked in the most recent pages: does things happen faster (shield and gun recharge, token production) if there are two people in the room instead of one? i want to keep just one dude in certain rooms while boarded, but i don't want my guns to take longer to reload.
I believe the answer is yes, things do happen faster when there are 2 crew members per room, although if I am wrong I hope someone will correct me...
I also believe the answer is yes. Since you only have a progress bar, I'm not 100% sure, but I checked it and think it goes faster (at least for the tokens).
Also UNepic. Fully developed in a few years with no initial investment by a single man. These asshats blow all their money on crap and release it two fold? That's my piece, I'm out to play Faster Than Light.
What should I check, the enormous list of IAPs that paidmium game offers? Okay done, now what was your point?
Bought this on a whim. Played it for about and hour and half then deleted it. dear oh dear, what a stinking turd. Not sure if I can get a refund but I've emailed to ask.
Game Impressions I find what little is there in Star Command to be enjoyable, at least for the first hour. My only significant disappointment is not actually the lack of unique plot and setting content, or the limited free-roaming possibilities, but the lack of unique mechanics and activities. Talking, ship battling and repelling boarders is about all there is to Star Command, and it turns route with an alarming alacrity. The coming updates might alleviate some of that repetition. But I find that I cannot really stop wishing I had gotten to play the original vision (especially seeing as that other space ship simulator is also very limited in scope and vision), unrealistic for a small team though it might have been, or better yet, a Star Command set in a huge open space, with trading and a dynamic economy, a changing universe, much more detailed ship customization and crew/character mechanics, planetside and enemy ship excursions, more depth to combat, and a sense of the unexplored and vast and unending... Considering that most of Star Command's other assets and presentation are very humble, such a project would be feasible for a larger indie team. I hope Warballon and the other dudes do well, and consider a truly massive open space ship sim. That's a durned shame. Get rid of tokens by all means (though I liked the fact that they add complexity and confusion to battles, the original intention as mentioned earlier in above Kickstarter post), but why simplify a skill system that is already bare-boned? And in what ways does simplification lead into the desktop vision? Skill ratings that both contribute to recharge speed and damage and give crew members abilities at least adds some very small amount of depth to Star Command's character mechanics, and depth is something I believe this otherwise clever little title needs.
TA seems to think this game is a success and praises it.. Seems very odd with all the consumer feedback being so bad..
thanks, i'll have to change my strategy a bit while being boarded. i guess i could check token production time between battles.
you're confusing reactionary whining of a vocal minority with experienced writers and people who put more thought into what they say before they say it.
I'm not talking About TA users.. I'm talking About many consumers including some writers. See I use many iOS websites and follow many of them daily. One review which was very honest was from angryjowshow.com.. Just my perception..
One person can be honest and a different person can also be honest and yet they can have totally different opinions. That's the nature of opinions.
True but when facts are brought into the equation. It's different. All I'm saying is its my perception that it is odd.. That's all
