The fact that this strategy can work - shows they really need to put more thought into the game. it sucks that it is easier to actually put all your guys in the same room... your ship really should be able to be destroyed.
Large ships Anyone unlock the large ships after second playthrough? I finished the second time using a medium sized ship and didnt see the large ones as an option using v1.01.
Same thinking here, it would change gameplay for the better. Once I clicked that my ship couldn't be destroyed I just let it go to hell, hull breaches and the like took care of most boarding parties.
The easiest solution I can see would be to make you repair your ship before you could go into FTL. Anyone else finding boarding parties a lot tougher now? Replayed mars mission which I only lost once the first time and got my arse handed to me in about a minute.
Finally bought it after the update. Haven't played much, but I'm enjoying it a lot at the moment. I hope we get more missions in updates
You know that most games don't vary their actual mission structure according to difficulty, right? You could play almost anything on easy then step it up to medium and it'll "just be dejavu (sic) all over again". I agree Star Command could do with more variation, but you chose a very odd way of putting it.
So what about this update? Can I get this game now or should I wait a little more? I don't feel like making lot of effort to try to like a game.
Did you get the update? I bought it this morning after seeing in App Shopper that v1.0.1 was available, but I got v1.0 installed. I had to update it just after buying. I haven't had any lags yet.
Playing with update. Crashes have slowed down. You now have optional yellow "missions" they are just fights no dialogue, minimal 2 tokens for win. Plasma Cannon starts now on speed and slows down with "Hit" minigun is still normal. Ship will still not break. Seems now you get more hull breaches, not sure. Fire is out out now faster. Stil nothing past 30 skill, captain is maxed in all three and nothing more, still shows skill go to 80. Havent checked ship selection, maxing a medium ship with gear.you hold the same amount of tokens.
Your captain can earn points in all 3 disciplines and the red reticule is his ability to fight. While I'm sure most of us just use the reds to fight boarders, use your captain too just don't let him/her be on the front line as if the captain dies, game over. I found it better to have him with your fighter group instead of alone where you need to monitor that there is no hull breach where he can insta-die.
Just fought Antorians on Black Hole setting. I've completed the linear storyline but patched and trying the optionals. One antorian got into my deathball plasma room and killed everyone, one shot one kill in 4 seconds everyone was dead. Going to retry but can someone else check, cause this maybe a serious bug.
Or maybe an anti-exploit feature? Like put everyone in one room and let your ship burn and enemies gain superpowers? Probably not but I'd like to think they're trying something to fix that.
Nope had my crew in centre of ship and tried again, they ported 3 Antorians and owned my crew of 16, with 4 medics. Also completed black hole again and can't find the large ships. It says"unlock" in dev notes but any idea how?
Maybe it has to do with the difficulty level you finish the game on. I remember Super Contra on the SNES showed more ending bits according to the difficulty level at which you played the game. Btw, can you play the yellow missions over and over again to gather/grind for coins? Are the coins you get for those missions random, or preset?
