How to win. Ugly. You probably all know this already. Fill your plasma room and your laser room with all your crew and TOTALY IGNORE THE REST OF YOUR SHIP. As your ship becomes a vacuum and fire death trap, all the invading enemies will be sucked out to space. Just make sure you kill the few enemies that make it to the weapon rooms. Don't repair anything outside of the weapon rooms. Now you can beat the game in a boring and repetitive way. Which is what I thought of the game. Boring and repetitive.
No. I used it for the last couple of fights... I just wanted to get it over with at that point. As a little aside. I was getting a lot of crashes. And I thought it was a little too fiddly on an iphone.
Finally someone who understands standard argument form and the common use of fallacies. Which is mostly nonexistent on these forums....
Lol! I guess this works! I had fun playing the first few missions but the game did indeed get repetitive which led to it being a little boring. Still I don't regret getting it for $2.99 though.
Huh??? This is not what was promised for two years Alright it's a fun little linear two hour game. But it is NOT what the Devs hyped for TWO YEARS. And milked about a quarter a million bucks out of people on kick starter. Sorry but this is a major over promised under delivered situation. And now people are talking about MORE hundreds of thousands of bucks in kick starters for updates? Mainly to PC? When they already got a quarter a million bucks for a game that is short short short. Wow! Shouldn't they I don't know maybe invest some of their own profit into their product they SELL to us? Seeing as they already had the product paid for by the same people buying it again? No way this game costs a quarter a million bucks to make. Look it's a cute small game. But not anything like they sold it as. I followed and invested in this game for two years. I bet there are ZERO content updates for ios and any ones or PC they will next raise a million for it on kick starter. It took them two years to make a two hour very rinse and repeat game like this? Maybe Sand box or exploration will happen in five years.
Actually if you broke it down. 250k divided by 4 people for 2 years is actually only 31.25k. That's barely just enough to get by if you don't have a family. (even less if you count the taxes they had to pay). It's not a lot of money at all.
There is almost no way they spend full time on this. If so then....... Two years? Really? Two years 24-7 and it's two hours? And most people in the U.S make about 30k a year working horrible unfulfilling jobs. I really doubt this game cost 200k. And is there not Supposed to be some investment from the devs? The game is crazy light in content. Look at Foresaken Media. Totally indie and four bros and they pump out games with way way way way more depth and content in a fraction of the time. And I don't remember them begging TWICE to be paid upfront. I am just not buying it. And the fact it took two years to do a VERY short game? How long will a good content update take?
I agree 100%. Think about it. Promise all this stuff and raise 200k. Work a little here and a little there over two years. Put out a game that cost you about 50k to make. Pocket a 150k and then reap 100% profit because your game was already paid for with a kick starter. They told me and I still have the message it would be sandbox with all sorts of epic trading and diplomacy and exploration and it would be the greatest game I ever played and worth the wait. I call scam as well. I bet there will be a future kick starter for a content update. All the while when all is said and done they are making tons of pure profit with sales. It smells.
Where is the rest of the game? Actually now I am looking back over the last two years with what was promised and advertised? I am getting a little POed. 30%? More like 10% of what they said the game would be. If I just now found out about this game? and bought it for 2.99? I would be like...... Cute little game. A little short for 2.99. But supporting them with $ and time? Not so pleased. I just keep asking....... Where is the rest of the game? Two years for this? 200k for a tiny flash game?
Sigh, of 2 years of buying paid gaming apps I have to say Star Command is on the top list of my chart of bad purchases. Definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't even bother finishing the game and deleted it.
Do you do your taxes? Well I am a 34 year father of two with a mortgage a family a stock investments and am self employed. You think they payed taxes on this $ No. They just write it off. Just don't put it under earned income. It was a biz investment. Even if they kept 100k cash for fun. Who would know? They used to joke on FB when they would vanish for a while and say they were partying away money on gambling and hookers. Now I think they really may have been. And have they been on here? Just curious.
Feeling the same way. I think lots of people on here actually think there is going to be lots added. To a game that is this shallow that took them two years to make. And yeah I have no kidding thousands of paid games and been bying them for years. Going back to the first iPhone. This one chaps me. I will be way way more cautious about future kick starters. Makes me really see what Gem Devs Foursaken media are. Thats how you indie Develop iOS games.
I agree. I don't regret spending the few £s. But I did buy this based on the 4.5 star review here in toucharcade. I wouldn't have given it such a strong recommendation. Anyway, this is in the past now... Where are all these Warhammer games I'm waiting for?
Exactly. I bought if without prior knowledge (except reading some articles about the hype since I saw you guys here all jumping with joy), played it for one hour and thought 'meh... Why was this so hyped? Gonna go back to Random Herles 2 maybe ill finish this someday'.
I am confused on the high recommendation from TA as well. Guess the cute art style got them. But the game is no joke the same EXACT thing over and over and over and over. For two hours.
There's very little incentive to effectively manage your ship in battle, if you let it get shot to pieces it can actually work in your favour. You start with the illusion it matters, but quickly learn it doesn't.
Search for "Drifter", it should be coming out in the Summer and I think it will fulfill your needs for epic trading, etc.
Hi war balloon devs, love the game and potential of updates! On 2nd play through now. One small request, can u please add a feature to change your ship name once selected as mine is currently set to "ship name". Cheers
