First Couple Missions The first couple missions are paced to allow just about anyone to succeed. I think you will discover that Star Command is a bit old school - there are punishments for not figuring things out and just a bit of trial by fire. Again, we loved X-com and none of us ever read a manual for that game. Just figured things out. We really did aim to capture that and there is a bit of a learning curve. Our tutorial should cover game concepts but it's not gonna hold your hand for things. Experiment and play around - that's what gaming is all about
Yes you can do the campaigns with your same crew on the larger ships when you beat the campaigns. Bridge offers ship wide upgrades and the ability to always have a tactical crew member even in a default ship. In future updates the bridge will do much more, but that will be dependent on sandbox mode and some other features we are discussing.
@JPCoombs: Congrats on getting Battlecruiser 3000AD shipped! Couldn't resist! I backed the original Kickstarter, so I'll be picking this up tonight! --DotComCTO
We've thought about the Battlecruiser analogies a couple times. Hopefully our reception is a bit better than that.
Looking forward to seeing this game in more hands (and mine later tonight). Also hoping it does well enough to merit multiple updates in the future so that we will see the same content planned for PC release. Congrats on the release. Definitely seems like it was a bumpy road to get there.
So, from the trailer, is this a "time and resource management" type of game ala Kairosoft but with more...action?
