My bridge is broken and won't repair. Surely I don't have to start over or replay the hard mission again
Anyone experiencing massive frame rate drops at all? I'm on a 4s and it only just started happening recently. Just reached naut and it's kinda making the battles a lot tougher to manage.
Woot! All I had to do was save my game and go to menu at quit game. When I resumed the bridge was repaired.
Nope. Didn't use any exploits. Laser plus plasma as weapons to deal with ships, and a roving crew of reds backed up with blues for healing to deal with invaders. Also, don't neglect the dodge and shield boost rooms. 2 hours. Don't get so angry about it.
It's funny, every time a "big name" game comes out, the thread for it is split between people enjoying the game / giving and requesting advice, people who have apparently bought it but hate it ( usually giving zero explanation for why ) and people who have never played the game but come to whine about it. Just an idea, if you dislike it, why not give a decent explanation why? I like this game. I wish it had some exploration, trading and diplomatic missions. It would really have helped to diversify the gameplay. A little better optimization would have been appreciated. I haven't had and bugs/crashes, I have had a little slowdown. Shutting the app down and restarting seems to help so far. More upgrading options would be welcome in a future update. Those are the things I'd like to see added with updates (as well as the promised away missions). Star Command has a lot going for it though. It's really the only game that does what it does on the AppStore. It's got a lot of charm and detailed animations/pixel art. I prefer the mini games for shooting to a random 'dice roll'. Thought it was fairly ambitious to go for. The story and dialogue are pretty entertaining. Most importantly, it's fun. Just my opinions.
I guess you are just good man, more power to you. I am naturally skeptical and still am. The game is just not 2 hours unless you know exactly what you are doing... I think what you have done is learned the best strategy over time, done it, then complained that the game is as short as the fastest you were able to do it. I could be wrong, either way no biggie.
The game's fantastic, just now beat it on its hardest difficulty and loved it. My only grievance in the games current state is on how freaking few crew members you get at harder difficulties. Maybe it's part of the difficulty thing but I was hoping I would end up throwing my ship at its full potential up against the baddest dudes in the universe. That being said keep on doing what your doing Star Command and I will be eagerly waiting for the great things you create!
Genuinely don't undersand how people get any fun from this. One of the most frustrating, repetitive, tedious, disappointing games I've played. But then again, I've seen how this game should have been made. And it's called FTL.
I don't get why it matters to you so much. I played the game through once, going as I would any other game, just playing for fun, and it took me 2 hours 15 minutes according to my save game file. I wanted to share that here because I'm sure I'm not the only one in the entire world who will beat the game in that time. Yeah, maybe I've played enough games in my time to get the gist of how to play and so not need to restart at every turn but again, I'm not the only one in that boat. This game is short. Nothing you "think" others are doing is going to change that. And if you had actually bothered to read the rest of my post, you'd see I'm not knocking the game for that. In fact, I gave it 4 stars regardless 'cause I think it's still good, and worth the money. Maybe you need to not be so skeptical of others. People who are considering purchasing should know how long it takes others to beat it. That's all.
I loved this game on play-through and managed to complete it in a day. However, when I play through again on Heavy mode I seem to have no red token left over to by a weapons room :/ Could anyone help?
Disregarding what it could have been, it's still a fun but short game with some wonderful isometric pixel art. As others have said more variety would have been appreciated, but hopefully that's coming in the future. I've had a crash or two on iPhone 5, but hasn't been too bad. Two questions: Did anyone feel like the difficulty spiked on the fourth or fifth mission, but then it was pretty easy? Once you get the dodge and shield you are close to invincible. On my second play through, can you get more than 10 crew members? I have 7 rooms and can't staff them all while fighting off baddies!
About choppy framerate at the moments and slowdowns near the end of game, yes it's present even on iPad 4 and iPhone 5 and I don't think it's tied to intensive game graphic, there must be a memory leak or some bad optimization in code.
2 Hours is NOT short for an iPhone game! Are we comparing this to a 10-hour console game? Let's keep it apples to apples...
Urg the aiming mechanic is utterly dreadful. I keep trying to play but it's so off putting, I get to a battle end up turning the game off.
I know you're a troll but even if a little part of you believes there are no polished games in the AppStore you are playing the wrong games.
There are plenty of polished games. This one is more polished than most games at release. It has some issues and bugs, fairly typical.
This thread, like the RR3 one at launch, reminds me of returning to watching domestic leagues after a world cup. All the positives that come from having a unified shared interest disappear. Not saying anyone's opinion isn't warranted just that we are ALL ios gaming punks here
This game is quality. It's nice to play a game with a premium price tag that doesn't have ANY sort of alternate super "optional" currency. I'd gladly pay $3 for every game if they were like this.
