Assign them to gun rooms or bridge and then they turn to soldiers. Healing bay makes them healers instead. Engi/shield will make them engis.
My feelings exactly. I'm really disappointed to be deleting this game so soon, especially considering how much I was looking forward to it, but I find it much more frustrating then fun.
Played 1+ hours. Really hate the firing mini game. Anybody can share how they hit the three orbs consistently? Playing this at 1am isn't helping either. So far only encountered one bug. Sent one of my red shirts to engineering to become a yellow shirt and it walked behind the engine and either it disappeared or I can't click it anymore since the engine is blocking that crew member. Spoiler I am now in the second universe/galaxy that belongs to the alien princess. Is that half way through the game already?
Am I the only one who sincerely dislike this game? Sure it costs like three coffees (or one or 8 or half kilo depending how u look at it). But it is really a boring silly thing where basically we can win by watching.
No, you're not the only one. Quite a few people have made their opinions very clear. Some in a constructive and respectable manner, some... not so much. I'm enjoying it for what it is. I've got a bunch of games I know I can win by exploiting certain mechanics, but you know what? I just don't do it. I mess about, experiment and have fun.
Given all the impressions, I thought I'd have to wait a week before making a decision. Well, decision made, I'm going to hold off on this until it's more well rounded. Maybe I'll fire up Star Trek 25th Anniversary or something on PC (or NES) this weekend.
As intended is debatable; not bunching your dudes up in one or two rooms means you have to spend far longer in each battle which increases the chance of the game crashing. The more upgrades you have and the longer you've played incrementally means a bigger chance for the game to crash. Not to mention that playing it "as intended" is just as repetitive and uninspired. So yeah.
If the worst comes to the worst, you could always counter a debatable comment with an equally debatable comment
Fofgedaboutit. This game has had hype to the moon and a substantial budget and ends up being a handful of repetitive battles, lacking instructions, worthless AI... ...I can't go on. How this earned the rating from TA it did remains a mystery to me. I am greatful if others are enjoying it.
Oh. That seems counterintuitive. I have repaired my ship during/after every battle and have never bunched up in a room anywhere. Sure, I lose one or two crew from time to time. I think the worst was 5 in one battle. But, I'm 70% through my second play through of the game, and I still enjoy it. Warballon, I hope you all fix this bug so these poor saps are forced to actually play the game. It's a lot more fun when losing is possible, IMHO.
And as the developers have just stated: Sounds like people shouldn't get their hopes up too high for improvements or additions to the iOS version.
Great! So the iOS release is the one that's shit, that doesn't really work, that's limited and underdeveloped. Well thanks for putting it out there for me to purchase. And thanks to TA for blowing smoke up yet another sweetheart developer's ass.
Without all that much tweaking it would be nice to have SOME variety at least in the missions... such as Beam over to ally ship: The ship is going to explode in 10 minutes! Send in repair crews and save the ship! but watch out, the ship is still under attack! or Beam down to Planet X: Our allies the Whateveryoucallthems have suffered a surprise attack! Lead a team of medics and save as many as you can while fending off attackers! Same gameplay just different scenery and win conditions.. Would make a nice difference.
This game started off really great and I wanted to love it all the way to the end. There just isn't enough variety. Having beaten the game, I didn't want to go round two, knowing that one of the major gripes I have with it (unit selection and organization/movement) would be horrendous with the second playthrough. It was well worth my three bucks though. Kept me entertained. Also, whet my appetite for FTL, which I just bought.
Sorry if this was brought up before...Is there a way to see what your current mission is? Yesterday I finished the first two missions, got some crew and upgrades then quit for the day. When I came back this morning I forgot where I was supposed to be going. Thanks!
Disappointing ... This feels unfinished. There is nowhere near the level of depth promised in the trailers and previews. The missions are simple, repetitive and boring. Controls are clunky and unresponsive. Peeps dont respond and have no AI they just standcaround doing nothing. Upgrades are minimal and sparse. Doesn't play like a premium strategy game. Although the art and music is fantastic, the gameplay spoils everything for me. It is simply nothing like advertised. It's like a simple Flash web game. I so wanted to love this game but feel very unhappy with it... Oh well, maybe next time...
