It's not buggy.. Every crew has a radius.. Depending on his skill level.. Those noobs need to stand extremely near.. But if you make your character yellow it has quite a large radius since he/she starts with level 10 skill
hehe its worth the download and the measy 3 dollars for the gfx alone. and the middle of the game is actually nice, the beginning is chaotic and you feel lost and the end feels rather repetive but in between its fun. just ignore everything you ever read about it and you shall be fine on an ipad
It's a ploy my dev to make useless tutorial no instructions whatsoever so that we feel like a genius when we figured it out!!! Remember the moment you told yourself hell yeah I finally figured it!!!
Good game, but its not easy to earn upgrade items and yeah this is no casual game, takes hours just to finish or gather enough for upgrades, would be awesome if this is multiplayer lol.
You know that mobile platform isn't well suited for hardcore challenge due to it's handling and session length issues. The only good thing in SC is pixel art. Everything else is a disaster.
Ok just completed my second run through. And.... no more new ships and no more new rooms. I can only choose between the small and medium ones. Not going to go through this a third time. At this point I'm just going to sit back and watch the updates roll through. Hopefully they bring in some changes for the better. So I'd say a second play through may be all she wrote. Unless someone can play through black hole difficulty to confirm more features. Which isn't hard... because hull breeches protect your crew
Game is actually much easier than FTL where fire would spread across the ship and kill everyone so you had to move your idiots a lot. In Star Command i just dump everyone in gun rooms and let enemy come to me. Not sure why game has so much slowdown sometimes. Even without fires and other crap its still pretty bad.
I would love to see that on Star Trek: Data: Captain, the Klingons have raised shields and started firing! Captain Picard: Lieutenant Worf, have security breach our hull for defenses! ... Enterprise wins!
I find FTL considerably less frustrating and arbitrarily annoying than this game. Not comparing them directly as I know they are different types of game, but they both seek to replicate commanding a starship and FTL does it with much more convincing and consistent logic, and much more entertainingly as a result. Fires in FTL are quite straightforward: clear the room and open the airlocks to starve them of oxygen. And hope your O2 generator isn't down and behind a wall of flames...
The captain you mean? Didn't know that. I think the entire "slowly walk a crew member into a specific room just to change their skillset" mechanic is illogical and, well, sorry, stupid. I think this is something they should have nicked from FTL: everyone can do everything, but the longer they do it the better they get at it, so it makes sense to consistently specialise certain crewmen, but in a pinch anyone can pull out a phaser and start blasting, or a blowtorch and start fixing. They just won't be anywhere near as good at it as a crew member who's specialised in that since the start of the game.
WTF is FTL (Youtube video. Fastest way to see the similarities). http://youtube.com/watch?v=P-SnIhpCm5w
This game is lovely to look at but it's not really doing it for me. I think the problem may be more one of expectations. When I heard the old Kairosoft meets Trek thing a long time ago, I think I imagined more of a management sim than a combat sim. You know, going to different worlds to gather supplies or mine energy sources, make deals, keep the ship running and, yes, survive combat. But this seems to be just the combat part. Perhaps those other things were never meant to be part of this game but that's what I was hoping for and this isn't it, unfortunately.
I got a technical question.. Is there anyway to have my save game synced for both my iPhone and iPad?
I'm waiting to see if an update will bring away missions, planet exploration, and a deeper "sci-fi series" feel, as right now the very limited scope of the game just isn't winning me over enough to warrant picking it up.
It will make a you smile, at least, a few times. Additionally it will give some tense victories and the graphics ooze character. It's the same price as a large coffee. Both will get your heart racing, make you feel content for a while and then eventually give you the shits. All up, it's worth it
So uh... The campaign took me 2 hours 15 minutes to beat. Only had game over once when a hull breach took out a certain someone. At least you get a new ship for play-through 2. But dayum, that's a short game considering how long it's been in development. That's the catch 22 of this game. On its own its awesome, but factor in how long it took to make you just feel like there should be so much more. But totally worth the price anyway. I'd recommend it to a friend. Can't wait for updates! Sandbox mode awwww yeah. Also, more weapons and rooms would be sweet. Bugs: Had just one crash during the final boss, which sucks cause of the way the game saves. And as mentioned before severe slowdown late-game.
Totally mee This silly tapping games for fight make it boring even after let than 30 mins of playing.
Hmm, 2 hours to beat Star Command? Maybe I should temporarily stop playing Talisman and shift to playing this first... Kirk to Enterprise, one to beam up.
