I guess I must be the odd man out here. I deleted the game in frustration after the stage that involved raiding the research facility. The stage was poorly lit, boxed in, and incredibly frustrating. I might give it a second chance in the future, but I've got a feeling that that particular level might just be the wall for me unless they add some sort of mapping feature. The radar alone just didn't cut it.
The Spiral tunnel in the Research facility was just too much. It was so poorly lit I just couldn't tell where I was going. after about the 5th crash trying to follow the path, I just gave up and deleted the game. Are you talking about escorting the refugees earlier in the game? I liked that level.
I love this game! I beat it in one day, so I wish it was longer, but it was fun while it lasted. I'm going to play it again and try to get all the achievements. Plus the game's epilogue just about guarantees a sequel, so hopefully the next one will be longer.
Awesome. Been waiting for this sale. The lite version was really enjoyable; seems like it had very fun combat for an arcade space shooter.
Ok, I must be missing something here. I'm on mission 2.1, trying to destroy the frigate. There is no feedback on the ship at all - nothing telling me whether I'm hitting the right spot or not. Also, the turrets turn but don't fire, which seems very odd. I've played the mission for like 30 minutes, shooting at the ship from all angles, etc., but nothing's happening. My wingmen seem to be shooting at the turrets, which seems silly, since they don't do anything. Is there something wrong? I've tried restarting the mission, and it just ends up the same way. The voiceover says to destroy the power sources on the sides, but uh, not quite sure where those are. I've shot everything I could find on the sides, but nothing's been destroyed, smoking, or giving a health/progress bar. Anyone?
I believe there are two or three flaps(they should open and close, you need to shoot them when they are open) on the side of the hull in the middle of the ship on both sides, you have to destroy those.
Hmm... there were these long panels in the middle (green I think) that didn't have any collision detection. I could actually fly through them, though there WAS collision detection on whatever was beneath them. I did shoot at them quite a bit, but had no idea whether anything was happening. How do you know how long to fire on them? Just keep going until they explode? This is just ridiculous - terrible design for this level.
Yeah just keep firing at them, they should eventually explode. I don't remember life bars on anything in this game. It's a fun game but could use a lot more polish.
The difference here is that there's no targeting arrow for those panels and the targetting reticle doesn't turn red when shooting at the ship. With normal enemies, you get both to indicate it's something to shoot at. The only visible indication is the blue direction arrow that points to the ship, but it's not specific enough. Anyway, thanks - I'll try again.
Finished the mission - that is one of the most pathetic things I've played. The only way I could destroy the 3 panels on each side was to crash into them! I tried unloading all missiles and guns into them, but nothing happened. I discovered crashing worked simply by accident. I really hope the rest of the game isn't that bad.
This game is a shameless copy of Galaxy on Fire which is incomparable better than this shit. It costs 0,79 cent now, but I will not download it even if it become free.
It's not even close to GoF - it has no customization, no side quests, no RPG aspects - it's just a linear action sci-fi space shooter. It might be a decent one if they fixed the terrible boss fights. But yeah, GoF2 is SO much better, and it's getting what sounds like a big update soon too - something I'm sure we'll never see with this game.
it's more like a knockoff of rogue squadron I'm enjoying it for $.99, can't complain, I've paid more for games I didn't end up liking at all. it's no battleheart or what have you, but it doesn't really aim to be. p.s. "just linear space shooters" can be really fun. look up freespace 2, the *best* space shooter ever. because it made you feel like a little (but important) rock in the middle of a very, VERY big pond
I agree the price are not even close 99 cents VS 10 bucks What do u expected? At least I had hours of fun for 99 cents
