New update to Stair Dismount Universal coming: - "Motion" level bundle with elevators, escalators, merry-go-rounds and other things that move! This is a rather big development for us, we've spent a long while improving our level tools so we're now able to create scenarios with animated obstacles. - Level selection screen speed now a whole lot smoother on older devices. Screenshots coming soon
Stair Dismount Universal 2.0.1 now available! - "Motion" IAP level bundle, with animated obstacles such as escalators and elevators - Two new free levels: "Insecurity Measures" and "Champion's Demeanor" - Automatic IAP purchase restoring - Level select screen performance improvements As mentioned before, the work we've put in to make this update possible is some of our most significant yet. Before this, the levels in Dismount have been mostly static obstacles (such as staircases, curiously...), but with the new features in place, the groundwork has been laid for a much wider range of possible future dismount locations.
I'm loving these new levels! It is too much fun seeing your guy getting roughed up by an excorcise bike.
I'd like to see an "App Store Dismount" level that scores the player according to how creatively or precisely he is able to send unscrupulous developers (e.g. those who change the scoring opportunities, multipliers, or related factors in high-score based games weeks or months after they have been released) tumbling down something stair-like that symbolizes rep. The dummies might have various accolades affixed to their joints which themselves become activated and open Safari windows without permission whenever bumped.
Frand, have you guys played iDrop Dead? Now you've got animated obstacles you could probably get some inspiration from that. It's awesome, but in 3D it could be even more awesome. Unfortunately the developer isn't active on iOS anymore
Sure we know the game! One thing to remember is that for Dismount the bounds we've set for ourselves are no blood and no dismemberment. This is after all a game more focused on simulated accidents and dark slapstick humor, and we try to avoid creating scenarios with the mentality of torture. Granted, the line is blurred, but we stick to the principle. Even with those boundaries, there are plenty of situations to explore. And we plan to
Stair Dismount Universal v2.1.6 now available! For those who have been keeping an eye on Mr. Dismount's antics of late, we're going through our Summer Helsinki Holiday Tour which involves a changing level in every update. Today is a new update and a new level for the Tour slot called Slippery When Wet. And our summer holidays are still going (half the studio is still out on their vacations) so the holiday tour continues Also in the past few updates we've fixed some of the annoying camera jitters, so you might be pleasantly surprised with the latest version. Altogether we've broken five million unique downloads a while ago which is both humbling and mind boggling. Thank you again to everyone for your support!
Frand This new level with the ladders is great, I have been following this game very close. It's one of the few that I get revved up for updates. You should leave this level (slippery when wet) in the game. The other two were ok and not a big deal to delete, but I will hate to see more creative levels like this one go! Please leave it in! Also, any level packs on the way? Cheers and congrats on the numbers! You guys deserve it! (even though cinnamon beats has become vaporware;(
The Summer Helsinki Holiday Tour will replace the level in the postcard slot for every update, but don't worry, we have further plans for them Once we're all back from our holidays, development work on Stair Dismount will continue. Right now we're more of a skeleton crew keeping the Summer Tour going by swapping levels and making the submissions. There was a lot of effort put into improving what we can do in level design for the Motion levels, and those tools will be put to further use in more level packs for sure.
Quite a while since the last post here, but here goes: a new update to Stair Dismount has just gone live. * Retro Level Bundle now available - six levels inspired by old video game classics. The new bundle includes new thrills by the names "Yellow Pill", "Monkey Business", "Toad Road", "Plumber's Paradise", "Space Debris" and "Profit Blocks". * New performance optimizations, on older devices some levels will run even twice as fast as before. As a point of interest, the levels in this new update have been developed by the living legend known only as Sam Viikinen. His other level design work includes such humble efforts as Max Payne and our current PSN (and soon to be Steam) favorite, Rochard.
The new levels are FANTABULOUS! Fall your way through all of the Classic 80's arcade hits (Pac-Man, Frogger, Asteroids, etc.)! I had a blast on the Frogger level where I went sliding down a ramp, got dumped into a river, was flung onward by a log, and then repeatedly run over by cars!
I love how all of these levels have at least some moving parts (rotating pieces in Tetris, sharks in Mario's Castle, cars and logs in Frogger, etc.). In the Frogger level I got my highscore by getting smashed against the right hand side of the level by one of the cars and then tossed well off the level into the grass.
Stair Dismount updated for the holidays! This version brings the biggest change we've seen in the game for a while: Breakability(tm) - the unfortunate side effect for us switching our Mr. Dismount part supplier to the highly recommended Acme-Shenzuo factory. You could say it's enough to make a man fall apart. We've included a new level, "Disassembly Line", where the feature can be experienced for free. In this version there's also a mega level bundle, a cheapo one-price IAP for unlocking all the current level sets.
A very cool addition...but...now that all of Mr. Dismount's parts can score separately and the camera is focused clearly on Mr. Dismount's head, if you want to see where your arm flew off to, unless clearly visible from the head's current location, forget about it.
True enough. I had one great game where the body quickly fell apart but the head just kept rolling and rolling right at the camera as the tower faded further and further away in the distance, very cool!
Need some new info please G'day out there. I'm new at this forum, networking thing - well aged! I'm addicted to Stair Dismount but think that I may have a very old version, though I'm quite happy with it. I'm on iPad (the 1st one). I've probably not updated for a while or do I need to purchase new levels, etc? I've got a few characters. I'd love some tips on how people can get the massive scores - if anyone is up for sharing. At the moment I play it with my students. They love it and I get to check on their placed value knowledge at the same time. I read in one of the posts a suggestion on adding a multiple player function. Any chance that this has happened and I've missed the update. Any feedback will be appreciated. Rod
