To be honest that doesn't change much for me as I hardly ever reach top leaderboard territory! But it is nice to know how much there is potentially left to go for. A last second twist and a crunch can do a lot to a score, and this add a lot to replayability. I feel there is always room for another 100k! But like I said before, being able to add the face of a loved one is what really makes this game!
We removed the most outrageous high scores from the leaderboards. Also, an update has been submitted, this one reduces memory consumption and adds Retina Display support (among other stuff). A humble thanks to everyone who has downloaded Stair Dismount Universal, it's incredible to see the game at the top spot of free games!
Were those crazy scores legitimately gotten via exploiting some odd bit like getting stuck in motion somewhere to gain endless points or just outright hacks? Any plans to making hacking scores more difficult in the future?
Outright hacks by those immoral and aesthetically unappealing jailbreakers. And no, there's very little we can do about stuff that even Apple can do very little about
Are there ways, after BS scores are posted, that you folk can confirm their illegitimacy? I guess if able to see their scoring history and see this was their very first game, or just the simple fact that to get a score like that they'd need to be continuously doing back flips down the stairs for 2 hours straight. I mean I'd hate to have a situation (although I'm confident it will NEVER be me), some guy really did get an amazing score only to have it deleted as a fake.
Unfortunately no. The only semi-foolproof way would be some kind of serverside re-run of a replay simulation, or moving the entire game online. Obviously both solutions are quite beyond our means at this point.
What about, in future updates, you have it that the score submissions add in a little extra encoded info not displayed (based on the displayed score) that when there is an issue of a potentially BS score you can see if this extra encrypted stuff linked to this highscore matches the given score. Like tracking some additional statistic from the player in a hidden leaderboard only the devs can access.
Update available now (with some regional server delays possible). Stair Dismount Universal v1.4.1 - Retina Display support - Reduced memory consumption - No more blue faces when using image picker - Latest OpenFeint - Support button in main menu
Very nice on the retina display. Is the display when you're done with a fall and you look to see exactly what parts of the body were damaged supposed to be so small and centered in the middle of the screen? I wouldn't mind if that got blown up to full screen on the retina display Thanks again for the update. Actually, I guess everything menu related is very small due to the retina display support.
Just to let everyone know, we're working on an update now which will fix the button sizes on Retina Displays.
Stair Dismount Universal v1.4.5 - Retina Display menus fixed - New level: "iFell Tower", the tallest and deadliest dismount delight yet! - UI tweaks Submitted to App Store for approval.
Stair Dismount 1.5.0 approved! We pulled 1.4.5 from submission because we found an issue with it. So instead 1.5.0 comes with all of the above and more - Free new level: "iFell Tower", because you asked for something taller! - The ladies have arrived in "Equality" IAP character bundle! - Retina Display menus and buttons now larger - Many UI improvements: Quick Play button in main menu, better character selection screen etc. - Score bug in replays fixed - Memory and audio improvements to help with start-up and performance issues
Very nice update! This game just keeps getting better! I have a few suggestions, and forgive me if they've been suggested before: Save replays and view other people's replays on the leaderboards (like Jet Car Stunts)! I think it would be almost as much fun viewing the top players' massive falls as making your own! Also, the ability to view a replay frame by frame. Especially for getting pictures, this would be extremely helpful!
The ladies definitely look better in in-game photos than the gentlemen of the same sport. Also, the physical properties reflect the shapes of the characters, so you'll find that Ms. Bumblebee has a rather bipolar weight distribution while Ms. Diva has the greatest momentum once she gets going.
