Those stairs don't look safe at all! Somebody please help that man or he might fall down and hurt himself!
As a statistic we thought would be interesting to share, we took a look at the Stair Dismount crash reports: 95% of all crash reports came from jailbroken devices. It's easy to guess that the memory consumption from running custom cool stuff is sacrificing device stability. We test and support our games only on devices that run official firmware, so be mindful of any choices you make
Good news, the 1.4.0 update to Stair Dismount was just approved! (Should be available on the App Store in a few hours.) - Two new levels: Treehugger and Stagefright - Three new Dismount Heroes in a single IAP bundle - Minor performance and visual improvements - High-detail character models on iPad - iOS4 multi-tasking support
I love the new update! The new guys have made for some hilarious dismounts. And as much as I appreciate new levels I never seem to stop playing concrete results, but I do Like the tree level Keep up the good work Secrer Exit!
This is bull. The iPhone was first, and we deserve iP4 High-detail character models as well. I love this game; it's one of my all time favorites. I have an awesome gaming device, with games that have sub par character and environment models. Games like real racing manned up right away. I'd love to see this wonderful game in high detail on my iP4.
i like the new tree level, but not so much the stage fright one. there are other levels i don't like so much, but since there are the few that i love and can't stop playing, i can't complain about free extras! i'm just going to preempt any complaints about the in-app purchase of new characters by saying 'stfu'. i have definitely gotten my money's worth with the original app purchase, and new levels just add to it. adding new characters for free would definitely be cool, but i would definitely rather pay for the characters than new levels. new levels extend the way you play the same game, but the new characters seem to change the entire game, getting you to revisit old levels to come up with new ways to get a high score. perhaps the new characters will get me to like concrete results, mt. dismount, and pyramid scheme as i don't think they're that great with the standard mr. dismount. plus, i can't wait to try them out on my all-time favorite, the ledge. great update. thanks!
Ok so this game is great. Especially for 99 cents. But this game would be even better if you could add elements. Like weather. Variable wind would be amazing in this game. Especially on certain levels, it could increase the re-playability of this game infinitely. Having some gravity physics would be cool as well. Oh and how bout at least a level with weapons. Such as knives, bombs, etc.. Just one level to make people happy!

iPad version crashes when setting a face I select a photo on my ipad to use as the face I scale it and then I press Use and it crashes. Everytime I attempt. I had powered off the iPad off and back on but no success. I must add my sister-in-laws face to the character before I show her this cool game.
This is the first time we hear of this problem. Would you give some additional details: - What is the file format, resolution and file size of your original photo? - Which model of iPad, running which OS, jailbroken or not?
Small photo worked but not the photos I want to use In iPhoto, I see that the photo is jpg and 3888 x 2592, 3mb in size. The iPad is the WIFI only iPad and is not jailbroken. I was able to set the face using a photo that is 2112 × 2066 and 649kb. Also failed on a file that is 2048 × 3072 and 1.2mb I just cropped the photo I wanted to use to be just the face, so it is in the 600k range for file size. This worked correctly, so at least I had a work around.
Okay, this makes sense. The images you're using are huge, and cause memory consumption to jump up by tens of megabytes. Opening a single 3888x2592 image requires an additional 30MB of free RAM, plus whatever the photo picker needs for the move & scale operation. The crash is maybe due to the device running out of memory, or alternatively there's a max size limit for a texture which the 'oversize' image chokes. For reference, when you pick a face photo and the game converts it to a texture for display on Mr. Dismount, the final size is 64x64 pixels
Many thanks Frand for making this free. I had tried the lite but it didn't do much for me on my 1st gen ipod. I just got this running on my iPhone 4, I put my kids faces on it, and I have to say I am/we are having a blast. The kids love it too, nothing like a smiling face starring at you as it lands in a twist. Just had to buy the DLC. Out of curiosity, are those hi-scores for real???
Happy to hear you enjoy the game! The inexplicable high scores are most likely courtesy of jailbreakers, although the game is capable of surprisingly high scores due to the unpredictable nature of physics simulations.
