Though this is somewhat academic, just want to post proof with certainty that the Spoiler par values listed in Spoiler Perfection Mode are still Spoiler suboptimal . Here are two examples: Level 9 can be completed in only Spoiler 12 moves ( Spoiler par is 15 moves ); Level 10 can be completed in only Spoiler 17 moves ( Spoiler par is 18 moves ).
My testers seemed to be quite resistant, if I get more complaints about the difficulty, I will make it easier. You are right, it is a blend of puzzle and skill game, and the skill part starts when the X-O are introduced. Spoiler This is surprising to me, I swiped a lot to get these values. Sorry about the wrong par values. At least for these two levels, I will adapt the new values.
I used my first hint on level 73, didn't know that was possible that way, level 74 was great once I saw the solution, I am now stuck on San Francisco. Talking about San Francisco, the song San Francisco from Scott Mckenzie is one of my favorite records, whenever I hear that song I feel all happy and well just awesome. Just got the San Francisco level now I wanna ride in a car with no roof over the golden gate bridge, that would be my last wish ha ha.
Kamibox, I have since discovered more levels that can solved Spoiler underpar ( Spoiler level 12 in 5 moves (par is 7 moves); level 18 in 5 moves (par is 6 moves)) . I think the mechanics of the game is complex enough that the Spoiler auto-solver you programmed simply did not enough time to test out all of the possible solutions systematically to find the optimal solutions . Contrary to what you might expect, I suggest that you do not change the current Spoiler par values used in the game. From the perspective of a player, my primary interest is to compare my performance against that of the developer. Ideally, the solutions are those discovered manually by the developer during the creation of the game. It matters little to me if some alternative and better solutions may have been discovered afterward. The gold standard is always the initial solutions intended by the developer (you in this case). For complex puzzle games like yours, chasing down an optimal solution for each level may turn out to be a near endless task. If you want to reward the player for discovering an alternative solution, a better way may be to implement some kind of in-game achievement. Thank you for listening to my concerns about the timed mechanics. I think there is a degree of mismatch expectation on my part (not the game's fault). I went into the game expecting that it was a pure puzzle game, and the early levels in the game re-enforced my expectation. Consequently, when I unlocked the later levels with the timed mechanics, I was caught surprised by the mismatched expectation. As I said before, the "puzzle" part of the game you created were truly brilliant (and very clever), thus I was dumbfounded by why the decision was made to dilute this experience by pivoting the game to rely on arcade-type skills.
Spoiler It isnt stated in the game that the par values are the developer high scores, but you are right in the point that this could be good for understanding the par values. (I think the auto-solve machine never really helped me) Thanks a lot for your thoughts, they are very valuable.
Glad to be of service, kamibox. If you are interested in other Spoiler underpar solutions I discovered (whether or not you intend to use them in future updates of the game), I can email them to you if you provide me with an email address to contact you. This avenue will also allow me to share some more feedback of your wonderful game that may be too specific to be posted on this forum. I am replaying the game from the start with the Spoiler Perfection Mode enabled. It really helps to showcase the pure brilliance of your puzzles you created, as the revealed constraint often helps me to visualize how you intended to solve the level and the "trick" needed to complete the level Spoiler at par . This is by far the best part of your game!
Intro Musc Is there any way to download the music that plays in the main menu? I love it, kinda wished it played during gameplay too.
I liked puzzles 78 and 79 as a gamer, I play not only puzzle games, I want some action now and then and this is fun for me, it's hard and this could be a whole other game but it's nice for the variety.
Lot of impressions here, which is good! And I liked Okay? a lot, so definitely will try squaredance this weekend. It is good to see a lot of interesting puzzle games being released lately. Lostim, Puzzlepops, Warp Shift, Telepaint, Step on Gregg to name a few.
Just finished the game, great puzzle game in every aspect of the genre, thanks Kamibox. I only used hints on level 73 and 83 that were the hardest levels for me.
I bought it from Audiojungle: http://audiojungle.net/item/ambient-elevator-bossa/4521397 For every concern, my mail address is [email protected]
Finished (truly) the game in Spoiler Perfection Mode . Barring the extremely challenging timed mechanics (which some players may dislike), the game is brilliant as a puzzle game. Lot of different mechanics put to very clever use. Immensely satisfying to be able to solve a level "perfectly".
I am stuck on level 92. I've watched the hints and walkthroughs on youtube and still nothing. Can anyone help? Thanks
