Hey! Aeons ago, I ended up purchasing some games from Square Enix, since they were on sale, Final Fantasy 1-6, The World Ends with You, and a few others. Well, at the time, with my lovely iphone 4s, I wasn't able to fit the games onto my limited hard drive space, and so I always had the intention to play them but it was difficult to delete a game such as infinity blade 2. As it turns out, I recently purchased an iphone 6+, and installed the game onto my new phone. TWEWY and FFII both don't work. TWEWY crashes upon opening, and FFII crashes 5 minutes into the game without fail. It's been aeons since I bought the game, so I was curious if there was anything that I could do, or if I should just chalk it up as a loss. Only around $15 spend on the two games, but still, it's not a very pleasant taste in my mouth. -Will
You won't get a refund if that's what you mean. But those purchases aren't really lost. You'll still be able to download and play them on a device that supports them. In a couple of years (or now) those old phones will be pretty cheap and you might use that phone exclusively to run old games. What happened to your 4s anyway?
Yeah this is why I intend to keep my 4s after upgrading, that why I can enjoy my old games without worrying about Square having to update the game for newer devices (I mean if you're just going to add fancy borders...). The only game that doesn't work is TWEWY which is still apparently going to be updated but hopefully doesn't mean a year later we forgot too bad we aren't going to update it.
It's wasn't really broken, but rather killed. Blood masque was the only screen swiping game that I liked considering the story and atmosphere, and no energy. That game was extremely fun, but I isn't think it was making enough money. Oh well. Let's hope Mevius fills that hole.
FF2 will be getting an update in the vein of FF1 soon enough. That should hopefully solve your crashing issues. SE says they're updating TWEWY, but who knows for sure on that one. The story has changed enough times that I'm not going to trust it until I see it in my updates tab. I'm more worried about Drakerider and its premium version, Drakerider: Chains Transcendent. It's broken in the same way as TWEWY, but next to no one cares about it. They haven't pulled it, so I guess that's something, but still.
No one cares ... but SONG SUMMONER. One of the best tactical RPGs on the appstore. And it had a unique mp3 leveling mechanic. That was one of my first 5 ipod / apple games ever. I can't even freaking play it. It was so much fun I still remember playing it all through college. Guess what.. it got a $1 price drop recently (a few days ago)? Wtf.
Those weird $1 price drops that have been happening are a result of recent App Store changes reflecting the yen's exchange rate, and not anything actually requested/controlled by the publishers. But yes, Song Summoner is another one I worry about.
