Just beat the game on normal; is there any special content for beating everything on savage? I'm on the motivational fence. I will say the fire cone and flame weapons are super powerful! Theif: the rose dagger with full juke is awesome...I didn't realize I could lay a fire trap and juke someone into itlevel 3 invisibility does give you an extra stab with the free juke invisibility...juke doesn't work with bosses though, so there's that. It's really easy to kill your thralls and summons with the fire weapons though. Not sure if that is friendly fire is intended because getting hit in your own flame doesn't hurt; by that logic it should. Yeah, it feels like there could be a different ending...this would be awesome to play as the mushrooms vs the clogheads; maybe with different gear to simplify things...but awesome game!
Savage is almost an entirely different game, it doesn't just boost hp/damage, each of the monsters has a totally new behavior. For example, the red slimes have an 8-way explosion instead of a 4-way one. There are achievements for full clears of each savage dungeon, and you also get hardcore ruby stars for your dungeons instead of gold ones.
Thanks! Looks like everything's green to go for launch, at the moment I'm just doing a bunch of tedious website updating that needs to get done, but isn't in the critical path. Once it's out my next item on the docket will be launching the first Sproggiwood patch on Android & iOS (hopefully without blowing up everyone's saved games). I'm still in need of iOS & Android testers if anyone's up for it! Just shoot me an e-mail with your Android or iOS account to [email protected].
Caves of Qud is ####ing awesome, and anyone here that's a fan of Sproggiwood should definitely pick it up. Doesn't look like it'll be out for mobile, so get it on Steam now!
Might have been mentioned somewhere in this thread but how in the world do you kill those annoying goldfish? Muchas gracias #
FYI, turned up a showstopper bug (can't flip cards in the shop with controller) that I'll have fixed this weekend, but I'll have to resubmit the patch for approval before iOS release.
This game does look very interesting, but the price is high for my budget so I am watching some gameplay before taking the plunge. Just to clarify: are there only 10 dungeons? I understand that there is replayability as you can go through each dungeon with each of the six characters.
There are 10 dungeons, but each dungeon is randomly generated each time, not hand-designed. So it's more correct to say that there are 10 different 'styles' of dungeon. So each trip through each one of the 10 dungeons also has variation each time through.
Yup, the stated roadmap hasn't changed! I'm just slow, sorry. We launched Caves of Qud on PC the 14th of last month, and I had a ton of crash issues due to the Unity port that didn't show up during Beta, but were persistent and game-breaking for people who experienced them. It took me about 2-2.5 weeks of nonstop work to clean them all up, and they took priority over feature work for either Caves of Qud or Sproggiwood. It seems to be stable now, though, so I can get back on planned track. Supporting two games in the wild part time is just time consuming.
Bought Sproggiwood and Desk Top Dungeons on launch day.. DTD isn't bad but thoroughly enjoyed this one more.. Great job.. I'll buy anything you release in the future ####
That's right. Unlike many games the point isn't to trudge through a level just the get to the next level. Each time you play it you're faced with different set of challenges. It's quite fun.
For anyone who's interested the guys from Freehold games are going to show up for a Caves of Qud twitch stream tonight at 5 PM PDT. Maybe they'll even enlighten us on exactly what is a Qud. http://twitch.tv/gamesmatter
FYI, testers turned up a couple more bugs in some accessories (Lucky Coin and Key to the Heart of Gods) that I cleaned up, getting a new Beta uploaded.
Just enabled Open Beta on Google Play, if any Android users would like to be on the latest Beta: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.freeholdgames.sproggiwood
