Was just browsing AppShopper and noticed Spore Origins was on sale from $9.99 to $7.99 "for a limited time".

Clicked the link to go to the app store and it says "the item you've requested is not currently available in the UK store". So I searched for Spore directly on the UK app store and it's still £5.99, which seems pretty unfair to me.

I really don't understand the point of limiting a sale to only a specific country - if you're going to have a sale, then surely you want as many people as possible to buy the app?!

Do they honestly think people outside the U.S. won't know about the price drop and will continue to pay full-price???

Would be interested to hear if it's reduced in any other countries besides the U.S.

Things are always 5.99 there and 9.99 here. I know it's due to inflation and all that, but come on. For once we're almost paying as little you. We're still getting the raw end though.

There is no price reduction in the Swedish App Store either.

I'd probably buy it for £2.99, but definitely not £5.99. Glad I didn't impulse buy it when it first came out!

NotYou - actually at current exchange rates you're paying more than us.

    5.99 GBP = 10.2672 USD

That's what I meant by "almost" as little as you. With Spore being $7.99 here, it's almost as low as price you guys would pay normally. Not quite, though.

I agree about the price. I don't think I'd buy it unless it was $4 or less. It doesn't look like it has any replay value or variation, even if the graphics look nice.

No, this means that the US was already paying less than the UK - 9.99 USD rather than the UK equivalent 10.2672 USD. And now the US price has dropped to 7.99 USD and the UK price has remained unchanged, it means the US is getting an even better deal relative to the UK...:)
