Well it does make sense in that Gameloft and Ubi are both owned by Guillemot bros and they have worked together on many Ubi IPs for mobile devices. And 1 of Ubi's best selling franchises is Splinter Cell - add all that up and it does make a lot of sense.

Also, Gameloft are pretty much the only developer making 3rd person shooter and general 3d action style games for iPhone at the moment. Mind you, i'm still surprised they haven't used their engine and control scheme for a fps.

i would appreciate if someone would explain exactly what a port is. and im not talking about what they think a port is becuase i think port i think a like its the exact same game with the same graphics and stuff only ported over to some other platform so i doubt we will ever see any ps3 or ps2(it might be possible but i still doubt) game ported to the idevices. but i can believe that gameloft can have a version of the game on an i device just like they have a version on other mobile handsets. well whatever the case it appears that gameloft has the mobile rights so it is entirely plausibley that there will be a idevice version. i do hope that its not just a port of that mobile game though

I'm not lying. Do I have to say it over and over again?...
It was not an official announcement. Probably it is because Gameloft hasn't developed they could show yet.
Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed II will both be released later this year, along with the console versions.

If no cameras were allowed into the event/there was no official announcement, how did you come across this piece of news?

I want to apoligize for the rudeness of me and TA because we have been burned on many fake games so I want to take this time to say sorry but if this is fake then I would look like a fool.

FallenAngel has been on the forums a while. Why would he want to get banned just for the joy of fooling us all into thinking that Splinter-Cell would be ported to the iPhone? It's not that hard to believe, gameloft has done games like this before.

i don't really see why he would try to fool us...

why is everyone so skeptical. There have been plenty of splinter cells on mobiles so why is it such a big deal that it comes for the iphone

This could actually be good. But gameloft will probably ruin it.
