Did you try everyAir? I'm still debating whether this or everyAir works best. Slashtop is best hands-down for the desktop view, but in-game everyAir may perform and control better.
I just downloaded it, I'll check it out tonight, one thing splashtop has over it for now is the audio streaming option... I'll let ya know what I think tmrw!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! I wrote a review of everyAir recently: http://www.iphonealley.com/news/reviewfreebie-alert-everyair-play-pcmac-games-in-ios My biggest tip for testing would be to watch the frame-rate that the server reports - it seems to fluctuate and maintains the frame-rate it starts with. If it drops to 10fps, then it will stay at 10fps. This just requires a quick reconnect, then you should be able to get a frame-rate of 30fps and a latency of around 40ms. I would recommend not using OnLive to test since OnLive uses up your network to stream games and already has a latency of 150ms-200ms since games are streamed from a remote server.
iPhone version just went on sale for a buck! EDIT: iPad version is $2.99 It's pretty good, but is not a true RDP app, you have to install a streaming client on the computer. I'll be using it at home, but it's no use to me at work. Which of the big RDP clients did you like best, Brian?
Well I've used, teamviewer, logmein, splashtop, jaddu vnc, out of the bunch I preferred splashtop, but jaduu vnc worked really well also.
hi all i did ask in the everyair thread but this one seems more active... would anyone mind sending me the latest everyair server for windows? i bought the app a while ago, but the server is no longer available on their website because the company has been acquired! so now im stuck with an app i cant use, doh
Digging this up from the grave because I've actually tried out splashtop now, having recently bought an Android phone and finding Jumi is now not the best solution for me as they have no Android client I just got round to searching for other options. Long and short of it is I've now got Splashtop set up on both my Android phone and iPod and it seems to work very well, I do kind of miss the game controller option on Jumi but I'd be a liar if I claimed to ever use it for more than showing off. Watching video on Splashtop isn't really much better than Jumi's streaming mode but it does handle sound much better, the one thing that bugs me a little is the iPod is definitely getting worse overall quality image wise but it's still very usable as long as you zoom in. for the sake of comparison here is my ipod screenshot and my phone screenshot as soon as you log in. I think it's a pretty good program only thing missing is wake on lan I'll probably try out the Splashtop 2 version when it's out for my devices.
