I am enjoying this despite the timers and will certainly continue to play it periodically - lengthy playing sessions would of course be far too expensive. Unfortunately because of this situation, grinding also becomes difficult, which means that I will probably not be able to obtain very many of the rarer Spidermen without spending a considerable amount of money. This is really too bad.

I know. Just seems like maybe they'd spread the love a little. Of course they just choose the most mainstream game possible.

    Presentation on this game KILLS.

Timers suck. I'm guessing that IAP generates more money for devs in the long term? Yes? No? I'd pay plenty for this game up front. Sure, keep IAP's in there for people that want to short cut their way through it or pick up extra Spideys - but just charge us up front for the game so we don't need to wait for the next time we can play it.

^yeah... I understand IAPs that can give a player a headstart or even to max out quickly, but i really hate the ones that prevent you from actually playing the game.

    Hi everyone,

I'm Kyle, the Community Manager for Spider-Man Unlimited! Figured I'd stop by to say hello and chime in about a few things. It's been great seeing the overall positive response now that the game has finally launched! I'm glad you're enjoying it. :)

Of course, there's also been a lot of other feedback in this thread which is worth touching on:

The energy system seems to be a hot topic and the discussion you've had so far is great. The team will be constantly monitoring feedback as they continue to make improvements to the game post-launch, so please stay tuned. Energy issues, including no regeneration or super long timers, are also currently being investigated. If you've added friends in-game, they can gift you energy which may help for the time being.

Control responsiveness (swiping) and performance issues are also currently being investigated. You may experience a dip in performance as you download the initial DLC, which downloads in the background during play, but it also seems some of you are still experiencing this so please hang tight.

Just a heads up - there will be new Spider-Men constantly added to the game. So if you don't see your favorite character yet, they may pop-up in the future! Additionally, more episodic content will also be released overtime as new villains are revealed.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, so if you've got any questions or other feedback, let me know! Thanks!

    ^Thanks for dropping by Kyle.

And yes, the energy running preventing players from actually playing the game is the game's weakest feature right now. For games like this, people would want to hit the replay button a lot, and this isnt entirely possible unless you throw in money, which is, well, good for Gameloft and not for the consumers. Receiving gifts from friends are not really that helpful either because after a few more runs you'd still hit that STOP sign head-on.

As for controls responsiveness, controls are perfect on the iPad Air running the latest OS version, non-jailbroken.

There is however very rare single-hiccups happening (like once every 5 runs or so, very rarely happens) in which the screen freezes for a split second.

I really look forward to how Gameloft will handle the current wall that prevents us from playing the game. Games are to be enjoyed, but one shouldnt wait to enjoy a game he already has.

I´m with others in this thread, game is really great, but the timer is just a huge hurdle that i guess people will loose interest quickly after reaching level 10.
And then you make no money.

I think there is plenty of freemium left if you get rid off the timer somehow, i would even pay a modest IAP, which i´m usually not fond of.

Holy crap... I just got conned into buying consumable IAP. I had this popup that offered 55 ISO-8 for a buck and i couldnt say no.

Crap... My anti-consumable IAP stand has been corrupted.

Welcome Gameloft_Kyle! It's great to have a dev in here to hear us, I just have a quick question! Is the option to make a one time purchase to remove the energy system something that will ever be considered? Or is that something that Gameloft wouldn't be removing completely but maybe just altering? Thanks!

Wow where did you get that deal I want that! That's really worth it I mean it's a free game so spending a buck is worth the price if you enjoy the game. I'm not one to spend IAP in freemium games either but if I like the game then I might spend a buck or two.

4 stars from TA, featured on the App Store the world over, 4.5 star average from 890 ratings on the US app store and even stout critics buying "special deal" iAPs... why would Gameloft ever change the monetization? Really, those of us looking for a purer runner experience should find it elsewhere in games like ALONE, FOTONICA and Boson X. This a different variety and we have to accept that.

FOTONICA is the best runner ever after Mirror's Edge (console version) Because yes,it's a runner for me. But at first person ;)
