Hey I have a question: Do they ever run sales or specials on IAP purchases? I would consider buying ISO 8 if the sales were decent. Also, I have heard something about VIP portals with ISO 8 purchases? What's this all about?
From time to time, a popup will showup in any of the game's screens (outside of being in an actual run) and the popup may be a sale or an ad for the events. If it's a sale popup, it could either be promoting ISO-8 sale (up to 60% off on the or even get up to 60% more ISO-8 on your purchase), or a cheaper premium portal of 12 ISO-8, or getting a free premium portal on any IAP purchase.
Yeah, the Premium Portal sales I keep buying every day for 12 ISO 8 per pull. I was talking about IAP purchases, though. I would definitely buy an IAP package if they discounted them substantially. Not sure if I am in the minority on this, though.
Even on a sale price i dont think it's worth it. ISO-8 is pretty expensive. The only thing worth IMO which i bought, was the one-time offer of 55 ISO-8 for $0.99. That's my only purchase in this game. With the new unlimited run bronze reward of 50 ISO-8, the IAPs are pretty expensive.
I guess I don't quite understand the logic of it, and I would love it if someone from Gameloft or their dev team explained it to me. It seems that the consensus, even among the most avid fans of the game, far more rabid about the game than me at least, is that the price of the IAP packages in this game are completely and bafflingly insane. Everyone seems to wonder the same thing: In a game like this, without advertising built into the app, the only way the devs can make money is by selling us stuff, and who the hell would be out of their minds enough to actually plunk down that much money for that little in return? How could they possibly be making a living off this game is my question. On the other hand, maybe they are making money on the IAP. I mean, if they are selling the IAP at those prices, and they are immovable on it, then maybe they are making money, right? If so, and there are people so fanatical about this game that twenty bucks for just over a hundred ISO 8 (which would buy you ONE VIP portal) then God bless them! lol If people are willing to pay it, then I can only say that the people selling it aren't the stupid ones!
Totally off topic, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this... I've had, lets just say more than one drink tonight. Not hammered by any means but I've managed to clear 3 Issue 3 side missions I've not been able to clear before. I'm much more relaxed than normal, wondering if that helps... Curious to hear feedback on this one...
I remember people talking about games like Super Hexagon and other similar type games (highly repetitive and reflex based), and how they often found that being a little distracted would often help them play better. Basically, the idea is that you know how to play the game well subconsciously, but your conscious mind can make you overthink. I find that a lot of my best games are when I'm singing along to a song, something that doesn't require my eyes and hands, but does require my brain. I would guess the alcohol affects you in a similar manner.
Yup, my game plan is always to put on a podcast or iTunes Radio with some good sing-along songs, and the run just goes much better than if I'm paying full attention and stressing it. Maybe I get fewer combos than I could, but it's better to complete a run than get a big combo run and die. Plus I feel less about about spending hundreds of hours playing Spider-Man Unlimited if I'm also listening to podcasts (Amazing Spider-Talk, Videogame Outsiders, Penn's Sunday School) or relaxing to some music. (Sitting in the living room listening to a movie or tv show doesn't work as well—I get too distracted and die a lot. Good for grinding out a progression reward though.)
Looks like I am getting the OG spidey issue . Had 4 rare spideys in a row out of the premium portal. Got fed up and ranked one up. I already have a lvl 70 one though.
Question: I have a ton of non-duplicate 5 Star Spideys and I keep running out of room for more cards. Right now I have 18 card slots with three open, because I was full but grudgingly fused two 5 Star Bulllet Proof Spider-Armors I honestly don't care about just to open up three slots. Right now, it costs 15 ISO 8 to buy a new card slot. But I have seen people (though I don't remember the costs) who had so many cards that the cost of opening up new cards was ridiculous. How much longer can I keep opening up slots f05 15 ISO 8, and what does the cost go up to? I just finished Issue 3 and have a mere 22+ ISO 8 after a half priced premium pull and an accidental purchase of a premium pull (not sure how I hit the button, but whatever) for 25. It is a little ridiculous. I have 10 5-Star cards at various stages of levels and ranks, four 6 star cardsm the highest ranked being 3 stars, and one level 50 4-Star Iron Spider. I am seriously ready to just use some of these 5 star Spideys for leveling just to open slots, if I keep pulling non-duplicates, but that is a terrible waste. I really need 3 more Scarlet Spiders to rank that card to 6 stars and ONE more Electro Proof Spider-Man, which I have been trying to get for a couple of weeks now, since that card is stuck at level 50, four stars. Any advice on what the hell to do here?
Advice 1: Only keep the highest ranked type of each card. You may already be doing that, but don't keep a blue OG Spidey and a purple OG Spidey. Just ditch the blue one and accept whatever consequences that may entail (like being totally non-competitive in the current event). Advice 2 (which is actually just info): It goes from 15 ISO-8 to 20 ISO-8. That's what I'm on right now and I have a total of 21 slots open. Advice 3: This could mildly contradict advice 1, but keep your 4 highest combo cards. Even if two of those are the same Spider-Man or one is a blue version of something you also have a purple. For example, I have both blue and purple Bulletproofs, but my blue is at lvl 70 and my purple is at 30. I still need the blue one for my combo (for today, anyway; about to replace it). Hope something in there was marginally helpful and not just old advice or useless!
lol NO its helpful, believe me! I just have not had much luck in pulling duplicates to use to rank up. I keep buying the daily Premium Portal special for 12 ISO 8 because I am not even good enough to win premium pulls in any of the events or the Unlimited mode. I am not looking to have a collection of Spideys, to be honest. What I want is to get some of the 6 star guys to level 90 and some of the 5 star Spideys up to level 70. I have one 5 star at level 65 now, which is big for me! lol So I use him with the 4 star (level 50) Iron Spidey, and a couple of other 5 stars, one at two and one at 3. It is really annoying to have a 6 star Scarlet Spider stuck at 3 stars and waiting impatiently to by some miracle pull three more! Honestly, I am beginning to wish there were not so many different cards. Because while I was so excited to get my first couple of "5 star Spideys" now it seems like they are just taking up slots and I have too many discreet cards to rank them up.
Another question: I have read several posts about flash sales for highly discounted IAP ISO 8 packages, and that if you spend over .99 you get a free VIP Portal. Actually two questions: How often do they have these flash sales? And is it true that spending over .99 still gives you a free VIP pull? I think I accidentally did two regular Premium pulls (definitely one) by hitting the "25 ISO 8" spend button, so I don't see myself qualifying for a free VIP pull by paying full price for 5 premium pulls, at least not any time soon. I would consider it if I had a stockpile of ISO 8. lol Right now I have 25.
Whats up with event, I keep getting great run at 41k, so bloody annoying, im in 3rd place, even though u know I can beat other guys but, not with being unable to run 9k more, did it twice now , both times great run at 41k
Wow. Just 4 minutes and 22 seconds left before the event end, i gave the event run a try after two days just for fun and made my record of 6.4 million. Lol. Rank 37. Lucky iso8 win
