I love the challenge and level design but the timers make it difficult to practice. =( I hope they consider removing them. Did Minion Rush ever have timers?
None at all... Iron Man 3 had timers, but were exclusive to each of the Iron Man armors, so even if 1 is on timeout, you have other armors to keep playing.
After spending some time with the game, I have to say that it strikes me as one of the most potential-filled endless runners on the App Store at the moment. There seems to be enough fan-service to satisfy most Spidey fans (personally, I'm just waiting for Spider-Man 2099 to become available!), and I love the presentation of the game: details like the comic-book-like artwork and that short cutscene whenever a boss shows up really make the game stand out. The gameplay mechanics also work quite well: the web swing portions feel very authentic, boss fights were very well implemented into the genre, and I particularly appreciate the fact that story levels aren't "endless" (it feels much more satisfying to end a level by smacking the Green Goblin on the head than it would to smack him on the head and keep going till you messed up or were beaten by a lucky shot from a random grunt). However, there are some problems with the game. At times, the controls aren't very responsive which really is problematic with games of this genre. Also, the F2P elements aren't very well implemented. The dual currencies aren't so bad (the yellow vials are easily obtained, and the ISO-8 is given out relatively often), but the energy timer model is a definite strike against the game. The fact that not only is there a timer, but that you can't switch between Spider-Men to keep playing (like was the case with Iron Man 3, or even with Injustice) ensures that you can only play this in short bursts. The Endless Runner genre is one that relies both on trial-and-error (with the gamer developing his/her own strategies on how to avoid commiting certain mistakes) and on getting the player acclimatized enough with the game to want to keep playing after failing a couple times (part of the fun of something like Temple Run 2 is playing, failing and jumping back instantly). Telling the player that he gets 5 respawns before that the game asks to be put on hold for nearly an hour doesn't really mesh with the concept of the ER game, at least in my opinion. tl;dr: Game with great presentation, fan-service and potential to be even better than it currently is, but hampered by the F2P mechanics.
What the hell is going on with all these random people adding me for a friend in the game? And why cant i ignore them? Where's the ignore button?
Exact there is a insta-friend button on the leaderboards. Also for people ranking up characters am I doing it wrong? When nick fury showed me it said I had to have a duplicate of the card to rank up and some helper cards but the last three cards I ranked up didn't take any cards at all. Is it glitched right now? P.s. Lost some ISO-8 on a premium portal that was free but I got charged for and gameloft called me a liar so that happened.
^There's an option to use ISO-8 instead of expending cards to rank up. Looks like you are wasting ISO-8s there, mate.
After playing off and on and having more time with the game I have to agree with above comments that the controls really aren't that responsive at times. Also the timers suck balls. TAKE THE TIMERS OUT game would be much more enjoyable if we could play it! If you have to use timers at least set them to be used only during competition modes and not the story mode. This way we can't try over and over until we top the other guys score, and we can enjoy the story and compete against ourselves. Other than that... I may consider keeping it. But only because it's spidey!
So you can't rank up a card beyond its 3 stars right? Also, I have a 2 star manga verse level 18 and a 1 star level 4, is there any point in running it up to 9 to combine with the rank 2 star to make it a 3? Or is it just the same to rank a level 1 same type to a 2 star rank guy.. Hope that makes sense
Uncommon characters can be levelled up to 50 (4-rank cards), and rares can be levelled up to 70 (5-rank cards)
Hmmm, I was checking out a rare card (5 star) I luckily got, but I would not only need one more of that card (so another 25 ISO and a lucky spin), but 25 ISO to allow rank him up....or am I missing something?
You'll only need the ISO and you can rank him up. OR, you can expend 1 SAME card plus 2 cards that are 1 rarity lower (or higher) than the one you are ranking up, so you dont have to spend ISO-8 to rank up.
I got lucky and got a battle damaged spidey 4 star, then did the 25 ISO spin and got a 5 star battle damaged. From the rank up screen I can indeed use the rank 4 on the rank 5, so you don't need another rank to rank it up
For example you want to RANK UP a RARE Ends of the Earth Spider-Man... 1. You need ANOTHER Rare Ends of the Earth Spider-Man that you need to place in the middle of the 3. 2. You can put ANY uncommon (or higher rarity) cards on the other 2 slots so you dont have to spend ISO-8. If you only have a Rare EotE SM and one uncommon spiderman, you can spend a lesser amount of ISO-8 to rank up. You can also spend ISO-8 if you only have the Rare EotE SM and no other card to fuse it with. Alternatively, you can use ISO-8 to rank up cards without having to fuse any cards at all.
Figured the rank up out just won't let me use my manga spider man for ranking for some reason. Exact what is ends of the earth spiderman skills and multiplier?
Just found and figured out that if you go into "my team", in the bottom right there is a select screen for mini missions called Spidey Ops that ur other spidermen can run while you're out doing whatever. U select a mission, it'll give u a certain amount of spidermen u can send on the mission, u select them, and the countdown begins. Pretty cool....hadn't noticed this before. Will update when I figure out what's rewarded (wasn't paying attention when I started it)
You get vials and your spideys get XP points. The difficulty of the spec ops increases and so does the time each time (up to 3 times then resets). You can unlock more by completing issues. The higher level spideys can complete the spec ops with more of a success rate.
