3 times today I've logged in to the game after an hour or more since my last play session to find I still have 0 play tokens. :/
I noticed at the end if a run where it gives u the opportunity to continue, that my little ISO shard in the bottom right corner had a % sign next to it. When I clicked on it, it went to the store page showing a discounted price of .99 cents for 55 gems, or something like 50% off. So I think the game was throwing out the promo they have running right now, I just happened upon it. On a similar note, I have noticed my combo meter goes up when I dodge away from objects at the last possible sec......and apparently dodging one of these in a game I just played gave me an ISO shard.....has anyone else simply collected one during the run for an evasive maneuver?? That'd be awesome if they can be earned during a run too (not just from leveling up and beating story missions).
I haven't ever noticed it from dodging, but every day you can get 2 or 3 ISO-8 from knocking out golden bad guys. Could that have also happened when you noticed it?
Did you notice if you were low on ISO when you got the offer? Been playing a lot and haven't gotten it yet Edit: nevermind looks like Gameloft was listening got my offer!
Yep, just like you can kill gold enemies for an ISO shard, you can last-minute dodge gold obstacles for ISO-8, too. edit: hmmm, or not. I must have smashed a gold obstacle with the web gloves or something to get that ISO shard. Weird.
So I have this on my ipad and iPhone 5 but the play progress doesn't sync between the devices. Only if I delete the game and reinstall it does it ask if I want to continue from the progress stored online. To catch up my phone to my pods game surely I don't have to delete the damn game every time do I?
For everyone venting about the energy system. Go into the leaderboards and literally add tons of people. Just click their name and hit add friend. And if you get a good ranking (top ten probably) you will literally get hundreds of requests. I'm rank 2 in my event and I got probably 200 requests yesterday. I've used at least 10 gifted energy today since I didn't play much, but I haven't reached a cap yet. It can alleviate some of the pain of the energy system. And if no one is gifting you energy, just go to your friend list and you can request energy. This way the other person only has to go to their mail (which they will be notified of) and rapidly click through the requests and can mass send energy. It's extremely easy and the only tedious part if you can't rank high, is sending the tons of invites.
This game is honestly quite good. But the timers are ... So Gameloft is apparently going to add some more characters and missions as time goes on. Can't wait for next update !!
Just a tip it's a lot more cost effective to save up ISO and use that to rank up for the super rare Spider-Man costumes. Unless you draw the extra copy in a free portal by luck, your better off expending 50 ISO and doing a automatic rank up, then spending 25 ISO and hoping for a copy. And also needing two Rare spider man as well(which can be gained via vials). For the lower ranked spider men you can go either way, but it is easier to upgrade them without spending a single ISO since they can be drawn with vials with some luck. But don't risk 50+ ISO hoping for a copy, when you can guarantee a rank up.
To add to that- You also need to have another one of the card you want to rank up. If I wanted to rank up mangaverse spider-man ( I'm talking about all character cards in general but I'm using mangaverse as an example) anyways , If I wanted to rank up my mangaverse spider-man card I would have to have another mangaverse spider-man card. If you don't have another mangaverse spider-man card then you would have to spend ISO-8 to rank up. For level up you don't have to have 2 to of the same character cards to level up one of those 2 character cards. ( If that makes sense )
@Jeritux and Muskgrave - I think somewhere between both those answers is the actual reasoning. I think we do get a few during the day at some point (I've been so focused on beating my 130k run I haven't looked at anything...and I did that waaay early on before upgrades and adding a 2nd card for the multiplier, which has me very narrowly focused). I haven't seen the golden bad guy, but I try to hit any of them....I swear it was a golden obstacle (one that drops in front if you).....maybe the animation that gold obstacle does is the hint we're missing.....damn....I gotta figure that out. Amazing how runners start out so simple, and U get ur best runs when it's just that....now that I have a 6 and 7 star card and a fully ranked manga spidey with a manga backup ranking up (just for this tourney), I can't get past 45k without having to spend ISO.....amazing
I have a question guys, I have a rank 3 manga spidey, and a couple rank 1's. If I combine the rank 3 into the rank 1 will the multiplier carry over? Or is the rank 3 (maxed for common) the best that cars will get and I should use the others for XP for other spideys? Thanks guys!
To reply to the above person. The stars on the card is the maximum it can be ranked up. So as mangaverse, lv 30 is max. But for the event you can use extra managverse Spider-Man cards to further increase the multiplier with team ups (beat issue 1 to unlock). For example I have two team up slots unlocked. And with 3 lv 30 managverse cards with the event I have a X33 score. So don't discard your extra mangaverse cards yet until event is over so you can maximize your rank.
Oh wow, so in this game scoring is almost entirely about grinding your various characters to higher levels. "Skill be damned, let's just give them big multipliers that can either be gained by playing dozens of hours or by purchasing our generous currency" This post has convinced me successfully that even after overlooking the energy monetization and the random boosters there are serious problems in the scoring system, the very heart of an endless runner. Yup, deleted.
Wow I didn't even think about adding another manaverse spidey! Now I'm regretting all my hard work to rack up half a billion I could have had a much bigger score... Thanks for the tip! New weekend event out now!
When you beat every issue you unlock a team up slot where you can bring another spidey with you. It increases your multiplier and if you die and use ISO 8 you revive as the team mate.
