Hello, We've just released a new app which shows you how much you've spent on apps, music and videos. SpentOnApps keeps track of all your purchases, and sums up all the amounts. It also lets you see each item that you have purchased. All you need is the email account you use in iTunes and it must support IMAP. If you use Gmail, Mobile Me or AOL you can just type in your email address and password, and the app will set up everything for you. Hope you enjoy the app. Kind regards, Philip Bruce spentonapps [at] denfalskezebra.dk http://spentonapps.com App info is currently processing and/or the app is not yet fully available for sale on the US App Store.
So will the app scrape my emails looking for iTunes receipts? Seems a better approach than a Mac app that I tried and simply looked for the current prices of the apps in the store, giving unreliable results.
Yes, that's exactly what SpentOnApps does. The Mac app you are referring to just used the current app prices, and is not reliable. SpentOnApps uses the price at the time of purchase (the one listed in the email), so it will show you the correct price. Kind regards, Philip
Interesting. I suppose it's safe that your app won't send any data taken from my emails anywhere, otherwise apple would have probably rejected it.
Wow this thing even searches my trash can! I probably spent way more than this (been buying since the app store game out) and it shows me at 984 dollars spent since 2008 on 600+ apps and songs
The account info is stored locally on your iPhone. SpentOnApps connects directly to your email server, so NONE of your information goes through my company or servers. I hope this is very clear, as I definitely want you to feel safe using the app. Kind regards, Philip
it's not available in italy... any particular reasons? should not be difficult to adapt from dollars to euros...
I delete all iTunes receipts, so will it still be able to track them down? Also I use many many promo codes, is there any way I can get the prices of them included so I can see how much my account is worth and not what I actually paid?
Give you my email address and password, so that you can monitor emails containing my bank details? Something sounds phishy here...
Hello again, @sam the lion There are two reasons at the moment. First, I need a US Export Licence in order to distribute the app outside of the US/Canada. I'm in the process of obtaining this, but it's taking some time. Second, I need to test the app on all individual app stores to make sure it works. Unfortunately I haven't tested it on the Italian app store yet. @Sainter No, sorry, if you have deleted the emails SpentOnApps won't be able to find them (unless their hiding in your trash folder). However, you will be able to track purchases going forward if you start keeping your receipts. The app only shows you whatever it says on the receipt. If you've used a promo code the receipt will probably say FREE, so it won't count that towards your total. @bmn0210 The account info is stored locally on your iPhone. Just an FYI, and question. I had been using spentonapps for a while, and it worked fine. then all of a sudden it stopped adding the date ( the sales are still being reported). The developer has responded, but they have not fixed anything - anyone else have this problem ?
Complaints are the greatest offerings that God obtains from human beings, as well as the most faithful prayers human beings might utter to God.
