Storm in a Teacup is a very good game, very underated. Classic platformer. With platformers you HAVE to have touch screen controls, retro graphics i dont mind one bit. But Storm in a Teacup looks great, a lot of levels, an excellent game

like others said, soosiz is a great title from the same developers.

also, mage gauntlet might be in your wheelhouse.

and just to chime in, crazy hedgy is amazing. best tilt controls on iOS. give it a shot.

Babylonian twins is a good platformer, but it is definitely different than Swordigo. I loved both, though, and my kids were also obsessed with Soosiz.

I empathize with your problem. I too really enjoyed playing Swordigo and was sad to see it end as it had great gameplay and sense of adventure. Unfortunately, it is somewhat of a unique game of its genre so you may have a difficult time trying to fill the void. There are a number of different platformers to try including the devs own Soosiz which is similar in many ways but much slower paced and with no RPG elements. Among other non-pixelated platformers, I can recommend Paper Monsters and the much underrated Wawa Land. If you can overcome your loathing of pixels, two games that excell in the domains of adventure and story are Mage Gauntlet and Sword & Sworcery. The former is, of course, more action/RPG oriented, and neither is a platformer but they are certain to captivate your imagination equally, if not much more, than Swordigo did.

Please let us know if you find a suitable replacement. I am interested, for myself, to find out what you come up with.

I have to second Jazz: Trumps Journey, the music and art direction alone deserves praise.

Speaking of Swordigo, wow that game was incredible, hopefully they will continue to support it and maybe have some spin off titles, the controls were INCREDIBLE, but the hit detection of the game kind was annoying sometimes.
And it got nightmarishly challenging in the last world, but still an awesome game, if not the top 5 on the iphone.
