First off, we are happy to say that the long-awaited Spellsword update if coming tonight! We've taken a bit more time to revise all of the missions, including ones in the original release. This makes replayability that much better. We also have plenty of new items to unlock, powers to upgrade, spell cards to earn, and a whole new world with new enemies. Now for the not so favorable news for our hardcore players. Despite a favorable amount of critical praise by the press, Spell Sword no longer makes enough money to continue supporting it. As a result, we have transitioned Spell Sword to Free To Play. I'd like to preface this with saying that the game is entirely unchanged from the original scope and challenge. The only noticable differences are 1. The inclusion of IAP for the Rupees and 2. The FREE download to begin with. There are NO speciality or premium currencies that are only unlocked by paying a price. Players who enjoy taking the time to do the challenge can still unlock EVERYTHING they want. Those who want to feel like a virtual demigod without having the time to spend, can simply spend a little cash. It is regrettable that we must turn a paid game free for our paying customers, but we LOVE Spell Sword and feel this is the only way for us to continue supporting it. We understand that our hardcore fans will feel disrespected, but we want to be able to provide updates into the foreseeable futures for them and hope they understand.
Great another one make its way to f2t the rupes iap doesn't bother me that much but you didn't say nothing about the other "currency" dragon coins that sure are iap only (i hope not) because some items can only be bought with that for example a helmet cost 350 dragon coins a the lowest ipa for dragon coins is 250 that is 2.99 so i would need to spend 6 bucks for a helmet that give me 3 hearts lol
All currencies can be earned in game. Dragon Coins are just a unique coin that is found by defeating tougher enemies and finding within crates.
Am I correct in saying that the block items have had their block values halved, I'm sure the best of the old helmets was 50% previously, now its 25%.
best of the old helmets was Diamond helmet, for %50 block. They've been halved now, with the best helmet a dragon coin one for %30 block.
... I played a few minutes this morning and found at least 10 of these coins in crates so they drop fairly often so I like the way that works, keep in mind that was only a few levels worth of time also.
Don't worry, all currencies and items can be unlocked by simply playing. There is ABSOLUTELY no need for you to spend any money to unlock anything. It is there for players who aren't too keen on grinding.
That's what they all say. Good grief, why do I bother purchasing games on iOS? It's a breach of ethics to take something I paid for, change the in-game dynamics, and re-release it as F2P. Why not just release a separate version and keep the old in-tact? You guys burned us on Terra Noctis and now Spellsword. I'm not going to be burned again.
I can't get the bonus rupees when the level ends, it's always (+0) now. Am i doing something wrong? Great game, thanks for the update!
Great game, good update but it's def selling out to include iap dynamics after this games tag line has always been "no iap!"
On question I have is this: Before the update I had maxed my fire card. It used to be that it was a maxed out bar with that. Now there is space, but it still says max. I'm assuming that is to allow the items to affect card levels, even if they are maxed?
