Still on the 5th but didn't touched it yet. I just finished the 3rd map again. Wasn't that hard except the last to battles which were hard as f*ck! Two monsters with 12k hp each and the last one with 21k hp lol. I had 112 hp left and was not able to heal anymore when he died. Monsters were one level lower than me though. Didn't recognized any higher rewards, hmm. Yeah, seems like this way. At least, that's also what I'd understand from it. Depends. Active spell runes which you can charge in a battle (heal, poison, enchant,...) having a max level of 3. You can see that while fighting in the lower right corner. There are 3 slots which will be unlocked over time by gathering rune points. Passive skill runes have a higher level cap. My ability charge rune is at lvl 4 so far. That's the highest I got. It's also a bronze rune only. I just saw my first silver Defense passive skill rune in the shop. Whereas the bronze rune starts with 1 defense at Lvl 1, the silver rune starts with 3 defense at Lvl 1 and therefore can reach higher stats I guess.
Now here is another tip: use "chain reactions" to create devastating combos and spells. I made an example in the screenshot below, so you can see how this works. First you will have to create several vertical/horizontal glowing tiles. Matching glowing tiles results in spell activation. The more glowing tiles your combo has, the higher is the spell level. You can do this by matching 5 tiles in a row. If you match 5 tiles verticaly, you will get one glowing vertical tile. If you match 5 tiles horizontaly, you will get one glowing horizontal tile. Matching 5 tiles will also hurt your oppenent, so you can do this easily besides your usual tile matching. Best is, you match it this way: OOXOO - whereas the X gets replaced by the last tile to form a 5 match combo. This will get you a glowing vertical tile. Do it horizontaly for a glowing horizontal tile. Now set up your board as shown in the screenshot or set it up at your own will. Just make sure the chains "hits" each other to trigger another glowing tile. Remember, you need at least 3 glowing tiles of one color to trigger the main chain reaction. All other glowing tiles will be changed to this color as soon as they getting hit. This example is one of the best result someone can get (you can create additional vertical tiles for an full board wipe) and it takes time to set it up but you still can make smaller chain reactions cuz it will mostly be overkill anyways on lower ranks. Sadly, the monster shown in the screenshot died before I was able to cast this Level 7 spell on him due to some skyfall combos which drained his last HP to zero. D': I wonder how it will look like...
I really want to like this game, but the your-life-as-an-energy-bar thing is truly obnoxious. If I felt like I could spend $5, or even $10, and actually get a challenging well balanced experience where I didn't end up having to take a break every 5 minutes and/or keep feeding you money non-stop - I'd do it in a heart beat. Please, developers, stop this madness. Let me pay reasonable money to enjoy your games. I'll do it every time. I promise.
Personally I fought fire with fire, so to say. 20 minutes and a bit of toying with my clock and I had all 5 of the $80 swords, which turned a freemium experience into a premium one...and yes, you get to choose whichever premium weapon you desire. What I really hate is that logging into Facebook gives you an advantage during gameplay. What I will say is this: I own every puzzle rpg battle hybrid on the App Store that I know of, and this is one of the better ones. If you're willing to overlook a few setbacks, the gameplay is very well done. The graphics, particularly the battle animations, are nice. The sound FX are great. The UI is a bit cluttered and confusing for my taste. What's with the reset random items thing? Ahh well. Take the good with the bad I suppose. Overall: 4/5
Wow, I never even thought about trying this. Just picked up the water sword, now for the rest! Thanks for the tip! Once you have all of the elemental swords, does another 20 days get you the black sword that's in the store for $120 or whatever crazy price it is?
That's sincerely a great trick, but free epic weapons isn't a "Premium" game or experience. Balance without trying to manipulate you into spending more money and the satisfaction of earning your own loot is what makes the experience Premium. Although, the satisfaction of screwing over this dumb model is probably pretty good too though - I'll give you that. Without the greedy model this would be high on my list as well. Semi related - I hate the daily login reward crap. Our game isn't good enough on it's own to keep you playing, so we'll bribe you. Ugh.
Simple. I don't have enough gold to buy this great item that's about to go away - I better buy some, quick!
Agreed. It can never be a true premium experience without a complete overhaul by backflip, but it does give you the power to keep most of the evilness away.
I'm not sure. I'm in the US, and at least in my store, there are only 5 premium swords available, each costing the same -- $79.99. There's one for each class. I would say they are elemental, but there's an extra non-element as well. There's: Ice - Light Blue Burning (Fire) - Red Earth - Green Tide (water) - Blue Electric - Purple So far I haven't seen a Black sword that costs more than these elemental swords.
I'm in the US, too. In order to see/purchase the corrupt sword, tap on your gold in the top right corner and scroll past all of the various gold iap options. Any of the elemental swords you don't already own are listed there, as well as the corrupt sword, with its $129.99 price tag. I have two elemental swords now. Will finish getting the rest later and then test out what the 20 reward past that will be.
US Store here.... I'm sure that sword is totally worth it. I bet it washes your dishes, takes out your trash, does your homework...as it should at that price.
Ok. Well the answer to this original question must be no, you can not get the "Corrupt Claideamh" sword with the daily rewards (I've only seen the elemental swords through the box which comes up when your daily rewards are given, which is why I hadn't seen the Corrupt sword yet). In the daily reward store, the $130 super corrupt black sword that irons your clothes and satisfies you sexually seems to be missing. It is only available for hard earned cash, I suppose. They must call it the "corrupt sword" because of how corrupt their monetization strategy is. I can literally get an iPad 2 on Craigslist for around the same price they are charging for their "Corrupt Claideamh" sword. EDIT: The five elemental swords are $79.99 each, or $399.95 for all five. The Corrupt Sword is $129.99. To buy 6 swords in this game, you would be paying $529.94. Five-hundred-and-thirty-freaking-bucks!!!?!?! (Now this isn't even getting into other purchases for items such as robes, staffs, armor, runes, etc.) Backflip is trying to tell us that a few weapons in their game is worth more than a brand new iPad Air.
Hmm ye, I actually thought about it - manipulating the clock. But then, I don't rly need one of these swords atm and the big problem for me is that it takes out random weapon loot as well as probably giving me the ability to rush through this game and then sitting there with nothing left to do after a couple of days. Not sure though, cuz I don't know how strong these swords actually are.
My co workers son spent 500$ on clash and didn't even know it. He got the refund back. The lady said thousands upon thousands of parents are having horrible issues because of iap. This is a trip, for a 5 year old to buy it. It's quite sad, I'll never pick up another game by them. 600$ for 5 items, are you serious? 120$ for a single iap. A single sword. It's pathetic, it really makes me sad.
It makes me sad that parents aren't smart enough to realize at when they hand their kid a device that has their credit card loaded onto it and leave them unsupervised, bad things might happen. It's as simple as going into your settings and turning off IAPs or requiring you to enter the password each and every time. While I do agree that these IAP are ridiculous and almost criminal, I also think there are a lot of parents out there that needed a good lesson in common sense.
I was part of a class action law suit against apple because of children buying IAPs. They have done a lot since then to warn parents, and make it harder to do. My daughter bought several things a few years back, before the current security measures were in place. (Btw, in the "class action lawsuit" I was given a $5 iTunes credit, I believe. Lol)
exactly true! my kid doesnt even think about making a purchase without running to me for one...and two if he did he cant due to being a smart a and safe parent and.....cause of a thing called restictions and settings
I couldn't give two *&^!s about how much the IAP is. If they make more money exploiting the rich, fine by me. However, I do find the freemium play overly restrictive. It is very difficult to grind back to full health, and I can mostly only attempt one difficult level every 30+ minutes. That is vastly more restrictive than other freemium games. True that I do have two life drain gems, and when I get another and/or they level up, it might be more feasible to grind back to health. But its really hard to level life drain gems - super slow - and its just too painful to play the game right now except for 2 minutes every 30.
I agree, in most freemium games at least you can play 5 games or so because you have 5 energy bars. In this game you can only play one game, i'm currently at the 2nd level at the 2nd area at its so difficult. also the exp you get and also the gold is not that much.
