Hey, I am from London, too. Well, at least a part of me, lol. Magician? Well: sorcerer, warlock, conjurer, illusionist, wizard, magus, necromancer, enchanter, witch, thaumaturge, theurgist. Enough, or more?
The icloud syncs really are a problem in this game. I played last night on iphone and beat shimmer reef. (Skull on the region). Now when I start up the iPad, it doesn't have shimmer reef as defeated. Also in the store I have 30 gold on the iPad and 35 on the iphone. I simply don't trust the syncing in this game. Got past the initial sync problems eventually by doing the rapid home button press trick. But now the sync seems random if its going to work. Aaanndd just now I did the rapid home button press on the iPad, then started the iphone game again and now the iphone has lost the defeat of shimmer reef, and back to 30 gold. It's almost like there's a bit of a bias towards the iPads sync, really odd. We all know that icloud is questionable at best, combine this with the problems we've seen for connection by the actually game, and at this stage I don't trust the sync process too much. I know the goblins are trying though so all good.
Have to smartass here a bit, but those are not synonyms. They describe practitioners of different kinds of magic. @Goblins: How about posting the whole list of current titles here? We all can do some brainstorming, and come up with a bunch of nice ranks. Those ranks do not even have to include the word "mage" anywhere. "Exalted Keeper of not yet verily important Secrets", to quote my favourite fun/fake example for obscure titles.
You might shoot us for this but, we realised last week, that before we reach 100 levels there would just be too many titles. And worse, when it comes to foreign language editions it wouldn't be practical at all. We therefore took the dull but practical step of removing all the titles. From what I've experienced, the best use of the cloud is when an app has a button which you manually touch to push or pull data. I've never had a problem with that. Now, onto gameplay...is your initial element chosen randomly? I'm pretty sure I didn't choose earth. Does everyone start with an earth/purple (sorry, I'm tired ) deck?
No need to hide I didn't think about translations at all. But I will miss the titles, some of them sounded nice. What about 10 titles - one every 10 levels - and the rest filled up like it was now, "...of the nth circle"? Manual sync sounds like a great idea. I don't really need the sync, so it starts to bother me a bit by now, that I have to wait ~1min until I can play. @Goblins: Is that doable for Spellcraft? As for the starting deck, no idea. I really cannot remember. The Goblins should know.
I got Green/Blue at the beginning. Or was it green earth? argh...I think I have read its random earlier... I've had one single game vs her. Had the same thought about the Goblin-Relation . @mark: I think due to the fact, that the gamecenter stats do not really mirror the real results - a lower positioned player gains much more points for one win vs. a higher ranked one - and because there weren't really many people playing yet yesterday, we should postpone eventual prices to next week (or further) and install some other tournament mode perhaps? Maybe difficult, because players would have to 'signup' definately to build this...anyone with an idea?
It may be better to say play games verses each other directly. Play best of 3. Everyone gets to play every one else who wants to take part and then add up your win total.I will have a think. The winner will get loads of goblin gold of course.
The start decks (when you first install the game) Main faction: Fire, Forest, Ocean or Underworld Minor faction: Fire, Forest, Ocean, Underworld or Swamp. So 20 combinations. I thought to not include Swamp as a main starter faction as that kind of thing is not to everyone's taste. Air will be, so expect a lot of new players at that time to come at you with cards you are not familiar with. Steve @ThreeGoblins
1 minute?!! Ouch. I tried mine with all cards and full decks in 3 different locations in 2 different countries and the longest it's taken is about 7 seconds. Normally takes 2-4 seconds. It did it in 5 seconds on a plane. The data it is writing, even in the case of a huge collection is tiny, less than the memory for a single small jpeg image. How is your connection to iCloud generally ? Do you use it for stuff like Pages or anything else? Regards Steve @ ThreeGoblins, surrounded by torn up old scrolls with titles on them
Well, I went from rank 1 to 5 because someone quit or disconnected on me. Do most of you guys stay with your beginning element, or spend the extra gold building up a different one. Not that green is bad, but a black and purple deck seems both devious and powerfull (only judging by the cards I've been exposed to).
I would indeed personally feel somehow disadvantaged without purple now. In Chess-terms I'd say it makes your opponent lose some 'tempi' during the match, especially if you manage to play a counterspell and a minion in one turn. But maybe there are some more defensive players who think different on this...If you're able to set up your strategy against the various purple counters, you maybe successful without them. Gee
Got a 'possible' bug to report. The AI had Rooted out opposite my grizzlies. Rooted, by its card text is meant to stop my grizzly attacking, however, my grizzly would attack whenever there was a minion opposite it. However, once there was no minion in front of the grizzly it would not attack the opponent directly. If its intentional for rooted to allow the opposite card to attack the opposite minion but NOT be able to attack the player directly then I think the card text should reflect this. Rooteds text is: "enemy minion on this path cannot attack". Well my minion was attacking when there was another minion opposite, so either it's a bug or text needs adjusting. (I think anyway)
Did your Grizzly attack during your turn, or during the opponent's ? Rooted stops a creature from attacking on its turn, but not from counterattacking when the opposing creature attacks it on the opponent's turn.
Hmmm, can't remember. Kind of thought it was my turn but really can't be sure. I just think that the Rooted text could be a little more accurate. Something aloh the lines of "enemy minion on this path cannot attack on their turn". (But then again what about covering for the grizzly attacking the opponent directly on the opponents turn, which its also not allowed to do, lol, confusing). Perhaps more to the point, the text could be swtitched to "enemy minion on this path can only defend". I know if the grizzly actually attacked on the opponents turn then that's more of a "defend.........attack" lol. If it is meant to cover a "defend.........attack", then I suppose the existing text covers that, but I'd say only in a minimal kind of way, but it's certainly not comprehensive, are my thoughts. Probably nitpicking, but this card draws on the key difference of attacking vs defending, which aren't exactly clear phases in this game. I get it now, and will remember, thought it might help to mention this.
Lol this got us all in the beginning, I reckon there's a post from allow us saying the same thing. You're rooted for attack but if the AI has a lesser minion, it will look like you at attacking on your turn.
Personally I am struggling with the black and purple deck. In theory it looks really strong, but I cannot win a game with it and I've tried PLENTY. don't underestimate the green deck. I thought as a starter deck I got green and purple but maybe I'm wrong. What I have found is that the cards I bought level 10, were no longer useful at level 20. You'll find the AI changes all the time so your decks have to change. Don't be too heavy on one deck as you'll find in the two player someone will have a deck which nullifies you. Purple is currently overpowered (as Unclegee will confirm) but the goblins address the balance with each update. Send us some invites and play some online games, doesn't matter if you get beaten first few times, it will show you exactly where you need to strengthen your decks.
Personally I couldn't care less I'm more worried you are going to run out of colours for your map areas!
Lol, I thought about that the other day. I thought they would have to implement a "scroll-around" world map, to scroll to another region of colours.
Must be an issue with my Wifi at home. I just tested it with the Wifi at my office, and there it only takes ~5 seconds. I don't use iCloud for anything else, so I cannot comment on general performance. Question for everybody: Since I upgraded my iPad2's iOS to 6.1, I have massive problems with Wifi connectivity. E.g. our Macbook has perfect Wifi connection in our bedroom, while my iPad2 doesn't get any. Before the iOS upgrade, I still had a connection. Sometimes it is so bad that I have to stand directly next to the router to get a connection. My girlfriend's iPhone5 has the same problems, also on iOS 6.1 . Her old iPhone4 wasn't on 6.1 , and had less problems with the Wifi connection. Does anyone have similar issues? Any suggestions for resolving it?
