New Air Faction My 12 deck slots are all used up and I do use them all. When the Air faction comes in that's another 5 slots I need. So it's ages away but incase I forget, I'd like to see more slots for decks. I'm happy to pay for the feature. Just thinking out loud....
Beating Bloodfire Peaks AI I just played 10 games against that AI, and it is still a piece of cake, won all in under 10 rounds, fastest was 4. Cat, some hints on my deck (that is a default one, I did not modify it at all for this): Sirens, Aquamancers, Darkling Assassins, Burrowing Under, Wrong Tunnel, Lost (which I might replace when they cost 3), 2 Sea Dragons (to get the Lost cards back), and some heavyhitters like Dragonfish and Razorshark. And some 0 cost fillers. If you want, either post your deck you have the most trouble with, or send me a PM with it. I can play it and give my thoughts on improving it.
Omg!! This worked! Thank you so much! I did exactly that. Opened the app to start, let it just get to the "waiting to sync, attempt 0", then closed and reopened in quick succession, seeing the attempts build to 3 or 4 and then the sync dropped down and stayed down! I've now check the icloud data, and I have spellcraft data in there for once! Thank you so much! Next thing, if you're ready, what's your experience like with it so far? Do I have to do the 4 open/close thing everytime I open the app, or will it now sync ALWAYS? Did u have any further problems after that?
my only sync issue was that first time, and i did the "trick" out of frustration, go figure LOL! as for the game I really am enjoying it, its different in play than what I grew up with (Magic) but shares alot of similarities (which is good) while carving its own niche. I am still picking up mechanics here n there, but I like what I've played so far.
This is my current anti Bloodfire Peaks deck which gets a 50/50 success. The other areas I can kill in a few moves but I find BP really depends on card order
Try building a deck with 4 Darkling Assassins, 4 Howling Banshee, 4 Primeval Oozes or Rise again, 4 Horrify, 4 Phantasma, 4 Narrow Tunnels, 4 Spore Farm and throw in a few Psychic Vortex, Heart Of Darkness, Darkling Schemer, Cave-in, then Hidden Cache or Captured Soul for mana and maybe Unnatural Gas or such stuff. Try using the combo Spore Farm / Narrow Tunnel and the problem resolves itself, while you're holding the opponent with Psychic Vortex low on mana. The other combo would be to use The Howling Banshees and Horrify to move the Dragons around and give the dragons damage with them and the Spore Farms and Darkling Assassins at the same time. I tried vs a red deck and took out a Ruby Dragon quicky. This setup is also good for fighting critter decks. That's what I would try. But I have to admit - the Ruby Dragon is a bit overpowered.
From first glance that deck looks like a tough cookie to win anything with, not just against Bloodfire Peaks. Will take me some time to test that out myself, so I can give more detailed feedback. Sounds good, I especially like your Spore Farm / Narrow Tunnel combo, need to try that myself Will see if I can make time to build a deck with your suggestions in mind and see how I fare. What I miss in your deck suggestion is any heavy stuff, like the Bone Dragon. Do you think you won't need them at all? And Howling Banshee / Horrify is one of my favorite combos, can be really nasty. Allow me to disagree, for a 5 power creature it is perfectly in line with the other big guys, girls, and things.
Oh, these were just quick suggestions... I just started to make that deck yesterday. I think I'll re-design and test it a few times, but I already have a name for it: Gunslinger. Because you go BAM BAM BAM BAM the whole time, lol. Hmmm... big guys for the deck. I have no Bone Dragon yet. I just started the game a week ago and miss quite some cards, concentrated on buying lots of Underworld and Swamp stuff first. So I haven't all cards I need for the deck right now, but will have them soon. I need a fourth Darkling Assassin, for example. But you reminded me about the Undead Giants, which are also able to do quick damage when throwing stuff at the enemy. Maybe the Necromancers are another option. They can also hide in Narrow Tunnels but shoot anywhere they want. In the end, the deck has to run by itself. When an enemy enters play, the deck should take care itself. The enemy has to run into the Spore Farm / Narrow Tunnel combo or should be chased around by Banshees, Horrifiys or that other tunnel card which moves minions. I've chosen Phantasmas as blockers. Quick, cheap and have a decent strenght, usable until your deck comes up with sth better. The Primeval Oozes need to take care of cards with powerful features, like the Ruby Dragon's blast. Put it in another Narrow Tunnel and the Oooze will be just fine. I think the best about this deck, when tweaked, is it's ability to form different combos with nearly every other card. If it works, that is. And yes, it's ok when you agree to disagree.
First suggestions after a few plays with your deck, Cat (won all of them against the Peaks): Yes, it depends a lot (too much actually) on getting the right cards at the right time. 2 out of the 4 games, my first hand did not have any minions, which is OUCH. The problem of your deck is that you cannot get rid of enemy minions fast enough, allowing the AI to slowly fill the field with Ruby Dragons and other nasties. The goal should be to get rid of at least one big creature per round. Or go around it and do damage anyways. For an aggressive deck: 4 Bone Dragons, 4 Burrowing Under, 4 Lost, 2-3 Darkling Assassins, 2-3 Cave Rats, a total of 4 "recover 1 power when used" items split between the factions, 4 Ravenous Ghouls, 4 Horrify; Fill up to your leisure with stuff like Eternal Knights, Howling Banshees, Zombie Mob, Decay, things like that. Forget about things like Vortex, Mesmer, Vampire Consort, Lich Touch, Dreamfeeder, Narrow Tunnels. Did 2 runs with my suggested deck, and things went much smoother compared to yours. @Vovin: The Oozes are a nice idea, but normally won't survive the enemy attack. So dropping them against a Ruby Dragon does not work; the Ooze has to be out first, and then a Ruby Dragon dropped against it; risky business... And its ability actually isn't that bad, it uses up 3 power points, so I am quite happy when the AI decides to do that
I agree with the suggestions about the spore and ooze, both are great cards if laid FIRST so they get a chance to do their thing when the turn comes. I underestimated my deck, I'd say. Have a 70% chance, draw depending heavily against Bloodfire peaks. Only problem then is that Martin sends me an I vote and I get caught, as they say, with my pants down. Luckily, Mike liked my idea of being able to select decks after you get an invite, let's hope it's possible in practice. Course all of this means I'm now desperately out of deck slots, I'm going to struggle really bad with the air faction. PS Also, just a mention regarding ruby dragons only, Darkling assassins are too expensive to do just 4 damage when you could use a flame spike for 3. PPS we just had the geekiest conversation EVER lololol
Lol classic example So I enlisted the deck you suggested, look at my screenshot lol. Seriously!! And before some bright spark mentions it, in my discard pile are three bone dragons and a load of Banshees. The worst part of this level is that the AI has about 8 flame spikes and meteors that he draws early, so ANY minions you lay are wiped out as soon as you lay them.
That deck wasn't my suggestion, so I just say "ouch, looks BAD" Cat, you should have a serious talk with the Goblins if you got a "just for Cat" version of that level If yes, please feel properly elated, that is a special honor. I still remember the day - and how bloody proud we were, first two players to get a special monster - when the toughest monster in the MUD I was playing as a teenager (supposedly unkillable, we proved them wrong) suddenly recognised our characters and went into turbo-overkill-"YOU AGAIN? I will wipe you from the face of the Earth and throw your ashes into a Black Hole"-mode. Ah, fond memories... I never got hit by more than 2 or 3 Meteors/Flamespikes, and even if, I just go "so what?" and stomp the AI into the ground. Alright, here is my deck. I used the two factions you provided (Swamp & Underdark). Winning in under 10 turns against Bloodfire Peaks lvl50 is a walk in the park for me with that one. But have to admit in all honesty that my other deck (described earlier, with the Aquamancers and stuff) works even better. If you stick with those factions, I would dump Miasma/Decay for more Captured Soul cards. Another option is to drop a Cave Rat and the Hidden Caches and replace them with Wrong Tunnel. If you replace Underdark with e.g. Fire, you can use some of those nice kaboom! spells too 5x Bone Dragon 2x Blood Vapour (originally for fun; but kids, that card is good. Just be careful with your Life) 4x Howling Banshee 4x Ravenous Ghoul 1x Zombie Mob 2x Miasma (filler, and for fun) 2x Decay (also fun filler) 4x Horrify 1x Captured Soul 3x Darkling Assassin 3x Cave Rats 4x Lost 4x Burrowing Under 2x Hidden Cache Still need to do a full run against all AIs, though, if it works equally well against all of them. With the Water/Underdark deck, I lose *maybe* 1 of 50 games vs. AI. UPDATE: I dropped the Miasmas and Decays (which are useful against the Forest Dragons), and replaced them with 3x Captured Soul. I also dropped the Zombie Mob, and added two Necropolis instead. Lost one game because I made one stupid mistake, and won the other two with a crushing defeat for the AI - 20:0 .
No, didn't have time for that. But the Sporefarm/Narrow Tunnels combo is still on my list of stuff to try.
Ok. For the last time (not you, everyone) DO NOT BUY CONSUMABLE IAPS! If the dev can't make a game work without them, oh well. Cause there's a good chance you're SOL.
Calm, mate. The Goblin Support is outstanding. I lost some gold and got it back with no problems at all.
Geez, mind packing your attitude and take it elsewhere? (various insults coming to mind omitted) Just in case you thickhead did not notice, this game is free, the developers are doing it for fun, and - most importantly - are incredibly nice and helpful (as opposed to certain other persons starting with Grey and ending with (thick) Skull... ) . So, if we choose to support them by sending some bucks their way, why not? Oh, and most importantly: WHO EXACTLY are you that you think YOU can tell ME what to do?
Thanks for your input Greyskull (this guy isn't our friend Greymane is he?), while we are all throwing our opinions out there, my opinion is that maybe you have a point, but you could work on your delivery a little? If you want to come here and discuss an issue with us, lets discuss it. You're never going to get a good reception if you just jump into a forum and start shouting at people (and you're a senior member so I KNOW you already know this). With regards to SPELLCRAFT, I'm afraid we are all going to disagree with you here. Yes, we had a minor iCloud syncing issue, it was frustrating for some, but the app developers have gone above and beyond in helping us overcome it. The guy Krossek who made the original post...ask him! He's working fine now and will agree I'm sure that everyone here is happy. I'm really sorry if you have had problems with SPELLCRAFT IAP, and I know the Goblins would be sad to hear someone is not happy, but there are clearly laid out steps just a few pages back to get you up and running, primarily, email them. You'll see what good guys they are. Relax, follow the steps to get up and running, then come and play me in a game. I'm a very kind player. *puts Sheinfell's leash back on and throws him a car tyre to chew on*
I kinda like it when we get a feisty one though, shows passion. I hope he calms down and I get a game request from him.
