Doesn't seem like anyone knows. I don't know if there has been any word from Vivid but there's no sign of it at all.

Just watched a gameplay video of it on another site I won't mention it does look pretty close to the Amiga version, I'm not sure I like the additions to the game at all though I saw a bit where the whole opposing team was frozen by some type of power up seems really out of place to me.

The game looks good but I've a feeling the original will still be the best I'll end up buying it anyway though.

Not exactly the best way to go about launching your game. Disappointing :(

I just wish there was some 'offical' word on this rather than the word of gaming blogs and stray tweets

I have to say, if memory doesn't trick me, that there were power ups in the original SB2, and one of them was indeed one that froze the opponents for a while. I think I vaguely recall the opponent players running in the same place, and turning, while I went past them.

You could be right it's been a while, I can't seem to recall it myself though but maybe it'll come back once I actually play the game. Could be mind playing tricks on me or I might be mixing the amiga and c64 versions up I had both I think.

I *vaguely* recall something similar. Curious how we all almost remember this fact, but no one is quite certain. I smell a memory-altering effect. Government conspiracy?

This has been an absolute PR disaster.

They should, at least, give a statement on when it may be released.

According to the latest TouchGen podcast, they decided to change the intro music and that meant a resubmission, which is why it hasn't come back out yet.

That's a good reason to delay it money spent on vids saying release date 24th of Feb and then delay cause they don't like the music that's class :D

Totally agree. I wonder how many potential sales they may lose because of this.

I'm thinking they must have had some copyright issue or similar I hope it's still close to the original speedball 2 brutal deluxe music-wise it was unforgettable the Amiga was always very good with digital music especially for the time.

Heres the original Amiga version really brings back memories

I'm sure we will get our hands on it sometime soon with a bit of luck.
