The answer is curiously yes and no: yes on iPad, no on iPhone. Just checked it. On a side note, why is the game called “Speed Demon” in the App Store but the game itself is called Speed Demons? I imagine it has to do with having to change the name from the Apple Arcade version, but if that was removed from the store… oh well, computer technology is weird :-/ ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,718 967 113 #3 ste86uk, Mar 20, 2024 Had this preordered. Its store page says it supports MFi and in these days most users have gamepad use Backbone type I suppose. So if this app released as MFi supported, I want this game to have screen rotate option. For screen rotation: The main reason iPhone doesn't support it: The UI gets smaller when it rotates. That's ok on iPad, but on iPhone the text is unreadable and it's hard to tap on the race/vehicle/option you want. I do plan to redesign the UI for consoles/PC a bit, but I wasn't planning on having those changes on iPhone. I'll think about if I can make the initial changes on iOS first. ste86uk, sebgo, Rocco SE and 1 other person like this. psj3809 Moderator Jan 13, 2011 12,918 673 113 England #7 psj3809, Mar 21, 2024 I normally always play landscape but this games designed to be portrait totally. And although I played it quite a bit on Apple Arcade, I just purchased it to supported the great devs. One thing that always throws me off is the fact that everything is unlocked from the beginning. To have access to all races immediately makes the track select menu feel super convoluted, and I‘m always losing interest quickly, since there is no real sense of achievement or discovery. Devs could take this game‘s style and make it an endless arcade racer with a randomly created tracks, and it would be an immediate favorite. Anyone remembering an old iOS game called Forever Drive? You do get access to 6 races immediately (after finishing the first one), and the game does provide pretty fast unlocking to make it easier to skip vehicles/races you don't like. But just wanted to say it may be that you're seeing everything because you played the game before. The game used to be a bit stingier with unlocks, but there was a bit of feedback early with Speed Demons (with versions before 1.2) that it was a slog to get to some of the better/more interesting vehicles. It still takes 450+ stars to get all the chapters unlocked, which is at least 150+ races with 3 stars, or more with a lower star count. If you started a new save slot (there are 6 I think) or had no progress carry over and are giving this feedback, then I'll just say this is the first time I've gotten this kind of feedback on Speed Demons, and I'll take another look at how fast the early chapters unlock to players. (Edit: Just noticed version 1.7.2 was approved and is live, so the start sequence should no longer have issues) Luke Rocco SE and ste86uk like this. An iPad 8th gen should run the game quite smoothly. If they're not too expensive, I'll order one since all my test iPads are quite old (iPad Air 2, iPad Pro 1st gen). That sounds like something else could be going on. Not likely, but possible the start-sequence issues wouldn't always crash but cause something similar.
