Actually, in that concept interface, the sword was the health bar. The sword gets shorter as the player gets hurt. Once the blade is gone, the player will die. It is a little, confusing, isn't it? No, one hit does not equal one death. There are 8 types of enemies, some much harder than others. The icons are see through since they were concept and we didn't want to do too much detail.
Oh nice even better! I like creative ideas like that. Wow im getting more and more interested in this game everytime I come to this thread....
by the way i love the control sceme you got right now i dont care if its just a ruff version but it still looks good, and i also like the sword health bar concept, im really looking forward to this game...
It may only stay this way for version 1.0 since we are trying to come up with the optimal weapon switching system, meaning such a health bar could confuse users.
I edited the first thread to include more detailed information, such as pricing points and version updates, along with information on the competition.
Do you think good music within the game or the ability to play your own music from iTunes is more important?
I have to agree with Pante. If it has poor music it will get bad reviews, if you can't play your own music, it will get negative reviews.
agreed, both are important but i would say first should come in game music and the ability to use our own music could be in a later update
We are definitely going to have quality background music that motivates the battle for the Hero. I'll let Touch Arcade know if we are going to include the ability to play your own music. Our stuff is Lord of the Rings-ish to fight the era, but I also know some prefer to listen to their modern rock or heavy metal when they are slaying baddies!
Hopefully by this weekend. I uploaded some video, but the format does not do the video quality justice. The movement in that video looks INCREDIBLY choppy/laggy, unlike the actual game. It would ruin sales if I uploaded!
Take your time and create a good video so that the game is even more appealing. You already have screenshots out so don't rush and create a video that does the opposite of its job.
In game music is more important than the ability to play my own tracks. Especially in a game that takes place in an imaginary setting, or a pseudo-historical one. Why? Immersion. Simple as that. Hell, one of the reasons I was able to overlook some of the issues with Hero of Sparta was that really nifty soundtrack (although it too was somewhat repetitive).
