I seriously hope people don't compare this to Zombieville. No offense to the Zombieville supporters, but for what it's worth, that game gets old quickly at least for me. While I haven't played it, based on what I've heard, Sparta seems to offer a little more, and I can see the updates will add even more depth.
Albie, thanks for the support. This is my first game and much was learned over the process. Now I have a much better understanding of what is capable and acceptable on the iDevice and will bring a greater array of games all the while maintaining the same customer support and taking in feedback as I have been consistent in doing in the TouchArcade forums. I just hope now the hype doesn't overshadow what the game intended to be. Fortunately and unfortunately, my activity in the forums has created a large thread and may lead to unrealistic expectations of a $.99 game. Regardless, I hope everyone enjoys it.
e It's understandable that you're worried your game won't live up to the hype, but I wouldn't worry too much. Look at Punk Justice, that had a lot of hype in the TA forums and people seemed to be pleased with it. It's your first game, I don't think people will rip you too hard if they find a problem with it.
Yeah I think I'll definitely get this, especially since it looks like it's gonna be getting some great updates. A gameplay video of the finished product would be awesome though. BTW, is the lite version coming out with the full version, or will it be released later? EDIT: Never mind about the lite version, I read the first post =]]
A lite version is coming, but I don't know the ins and outs of the review process with Apple. The games are considered two different applications, meaning Apple can approve one without the other and at different times.
Well, judging by the screens... I would say it plays like zombieville, albeit if you define zombieville as a sidescrolling game with enemies on both sides that you fight... probably it'll be way way better
It's all about the money now, baby So I can become rich, powerful, and pick up all the ladies! (Just kidding... I asked my wife and she said that I wasn't allowed to pick up all the ladies.... I know, I am in a oppressive relationship, huh? )
Wow the vid looked great! I think I saw a decapitation but I wish RPG elements were implemented like leveling up.
There is decapitation. RPG elements will *possibly* be implemented in a later version for a level up system.
No I said that because that's what I was under the impression of. He just said that because it was his birthday, and I took him seriously. It'll probably be out this week though.
I think that the zombieville question has been answered so many times that Kris is going to change the name to "Sparta lords of war (not Zombieville)" lol It is simiar but different, if that helps Also there is a video in the first page
More or less, I guess. If you're looking for a Zombieville game, you'll have to watch the video and decide if this type of game is what you want. In other words, Kris did not try to make a game similar to Zombieville, but people have been making it out to be one.
So what's the difference between kicking and attacking people with your sword? Right now the kicking option seems kinda pointless. LOL
