Just put Space Tripper on the iPad, even though it's 2x, I'm pretty blown away at how well it controls.

I think the plan is to release the smaller versions first the do a universal release later for the iPad with HD graphics.

I'm pretty excited about what can be done for the iPad - this game and the iPad are made for each other, now that I know the controls work a treat :)

i just notice this post and was just wondering, if the GL driver of the latest iOS is faster does that mean games will perform better in general using iOS 4?

For the GPU, yes... there's a slight loss with the cpu, though.

I hope people will appreciate all the work we've done bringing this game to the iPhone. We've spent way more time then is reasonable optimizing this thing, but it was really great to see everybodies reactions at E3 as we showed it around.

Everybody who picked up the game seem to get the hang of the accelerometor controls instanty. Same as in Jet Car Stunts, I think we did a really good job of getting the game and controls smooth and responsive which makes a huge difference for these kinds of games.

Just an update on this... Things have slowed down because Luke and I are under a tight deadline to get some paid work finished off. It's frustrating that the game is nearly there but paid work has to come first. Once that is out of the way then I can get back onto this.

Hopefully the wait will be worth it :)

I seriously hope this will not become a small Fan-waiting thread like reckless racing or mirror's edge. Whats new? Keep us up to date axis!!!!

Space Tripper is still alive... Luke and I are still doing some paid work and until that is out of the way things have been put on hold.

But things are moving in the background, slowly though, at the moment I'm putting the high-def artwork in for the iPhone 4.

On a downside the latest beta of the SDK from Apple 4.1 has made the game unplayable on the 3G iPhone. I really need to make my mind up which devices this game will support and what iOS.

I will probably go for iOS 4 and above with these devices a def:

    iPhone 4
    iPhone 3GS
    3rd gen iPod
    2nd gen iPod
    iPad

and 4th gen iPod when it gets released.

I really want to get it to work on the iPhone 3G but as I said this is touch and go depending on how fast the current iOS runs.

No it was delayed because of the Openfeint Gold build and the DLC versions of Jet Car Stunts. And as I said it's delayed again due to paid work.

Hopefully things will work out in the end and it will be all worth it :)

D'oh. Why are so many apps only supporting iOS 4.0 and above?

I would consider upgrading my 2nd gen iPT to OS 4 in order to play this game. I just hope that JCS and a few others will work as well as they currently do.

well that would mean you're losing about 50% of potential customers.
EDIT: Sorry more than 50. 50% run iOS4, and there is about 20-30% for iphone 3g. That means that maybe, you're losing 60% of possible customers.
