Competition CLOSED! Thanks for entering everyone! Our sci fi strategy game Space Station: Frontier updated earlier today with a new WiFi/Bluetooth head to head multiplayer mode, so that means a fresh batch of codes! We're also holding a $0.99 sale this weekend, starting later today, so even if you miss out on a code there's bargains to be had - tell your friends to get it while it's cheap so you'll have plenty of people to fight! [hqyoutube]UsRiezi2gjo[/hqyoutube] I'm not in the mood for anything too complex today, so to win a code I simply want you to post a cool spaceship or spacestation and tell me a little bit about it. Pictures are appreciated but not mandatory. Spaceships can be real or fictional, and try not to double up on one that's already been posted because that's boring. Basically I am in an infantile mood and want to spend the afternoon in the office thinking about spaceships NOTES: - A US iTunes account is required to redeem promo codes. - These codes are for the iPhone/iPod Touch version of the game, NOT the HD - One entry per person! Feel free to discuss other people's spaceships, though. - Codes will sent by forum PM. - There are about 45 codes in the pot, but I reserve the right to close the competition if it drags on too long. - If you enjoy this giveaway remember the 3 Rs: Rate, Review and Recommend! - Have fun. This is mandatory. Okay I'll start and get the obvious out of the way: Here's a double whammy of the Prospector, mankind's last energy minin' hope, and the Sentinel, defender of Mars and Earth, still trucking a century after the first game. Between them they have a spectacular alien bodycount - good thing the ethics of their actions are outside the scope of the games Over to you guys!
That's the Mir space station. From HowStuffWorks: Mir History * Feb. 20, 1986: Mir is launched into orbit. * 1991: Mir surpasses its original life expectancy of five years. * 1995: Atlantis becomes first U.S. space shuttle to dock with Mir. * 1997: Fire breaks out on station and cargo ship crashes into Spektr module. * 1998: Russia launches its first module for the ISS. * 2000: MirCorp invests millions to turn Mir into space tourism destination. Later that year, Russia announces it will destroy station. * March 23, 2001: Mir crashes down.
See this Space ship - This is my favourite (and my first favourite) virtual space ship ever. It's one of the first anime to incorporate CG cut-scenes, before it was all hand painted. It's called "Sword Breaker" and is one of the most advanced space ship in the "Lost Universe" universe. (No pun intended) It doesn't look very wicked does it? Well.... That's the spaceship! Girl = Spaceship...usually it doesn't get better than that ;P
Vic Viper - Classic ship from the Gradius series, and many appearances in other games, my favorite being Zone of Enders 2 in which it is also a transforming robotic suit that the hero from the first game pilots.
The Daedalus, from Stargate: Atlantis. Stuffed full of alien technology graciously donated by (essentially) Roswell Greys, unlike the Enterprise it didn't tend to get destroyed too often. If only the USAF was really sporting some of these in the real world (or maybe they are?), life would definitely be more interesting
http://www.stoehr24.de/wp-content/myfotos/luft/dixi-iss.jpg The other day I heard on the radio that the only toilet failed on the ISS space station was. The Russian Model has already been repaired several times, but now the furnace for good. The next shuttle will now not a new Toilet, but only managed to repair material to station be. I think only one toilet is a bit too little. would also be intended as a sponsor, find the this terrible situation could relax a little. I I just tried the visually implement voting, of course the standards, but otherwise would have been nothing detected.
When I think spaceship, I think of this one... and yes I know I'm dating myself a tad... LOL Three words to describe it's awesomeness "WAVE MOTION GUN":
Join the contest for fun, got the game already Fictional is spacestation and spaceship is allowed, and of course Star Wars rocks! - The Death Star is a fictional moon-sized space station and superweapon. - Capable of destroying a planet with a single destructive beam emitted from the large indentation on its surface. Ops, fans alert! Good luck everyone!
This is the planet express ship.... It's a delivery ship manned by a one eyed pilot, an evil(?) robot, a mad scientist, a halfwit from the 90s, a squid-like doctor, and a Jamaican beurocrat.
This is the space shuttle Atlantis docked with the international space station. Atlantis has flown over 30 missions and is currently on its last at the space station. Some Fun Facts: It takes 8 mins for a space shuttle to reach a speed of 17,000 MPH. A single rocket motor produces 17 times more thrust than all 4 747 jet engines Just doing this for fun I already have this awesome game!
This is the Second Solar Spaceship, designed by Different Futures, placed in the German city of Boblingen. The concept has jet engines and the circular docking pods are used for connecting to orbiting stations.
Not the best image. But it's the Halcyon class carrier from Sins of a Solar Empire. One of my favourite games and one of the reasons why I have Windows installed on my Mac. It's part of the Advent faction and the reason why I love it is 'cause of the sheer amount of drone anima(fighter/bomber squadrons) it can field.
Perched atop the red claw was the first metal bird, its plumage shimmering white and aqua, its wings and talons piercing. And far higher, its two cousins, hurtling so fast through the sky smoke jetted out in their wake. These metal birds were the first Nalkefme ships to be piloted remotely. They were also the first ships capable of making interstellar jumps, to scout around the outer regions of our galaxy. My brother, Wolf, was one of the pilots. He told me how free he felt, how light he felt in the air -- and lighter yet beyond our atmosphere. Hearing him talk about spinning and darting about, it got me jealous for a while. Just for a while. I wouldn't trade walking and running about for flying. Nope, not in an eon's worth of lifetimes. My brother's crippled from the neck down and flies from his bed. Just like the rest of his fellow pilots. -------------------------------- For the fun of it, I whipped up the above two paragraphs. I hope you like it. Your game looks awesome.
Cool posts so far everyone - good mix of fact and fiction, well-known and original Everyone up to and including cloudcastles should have their codes - 15 down, 30 to go!
